Just what we need another addled fool who has been around Foggy Bottom forever. CHANGE? I think not. Hello - remember him singing "Bomb bomb Iran - bomb bomb Iran"? NH citizens report him referring to a senior citizen's home as "Seizure World". McCain told a reporter, "The nice thing about Alzheimer's you get to hide your own Easter eggs." Gosh, they haven't even mentioned him and the KEATING Five heist.
Bush and McCain two peas in a pod. As far removed from the travails of the American public as a person can get. Americans have short memories most likely because they've been dutifully 'programmed' to 30 second commercials and mind-numbing sitcoms over the past decades. While the folks in New Orleans were DROWNING - GWB found the time to meet John in Arizona (not too worked-up about the great die-in taking place in Louisiana) and present him with a birthday cake. They left the airport for lunch, etc, at a local RESORT (the people were still dying). GWB has no qualms on spending taxpayer monies for this dashing around the country to such non-events. GAS for AIR FORCE ONE (not counting the convoy of secret service, etc) costs approx $7,000 per hour.
GWB & McCain don't give a tinker's damn over the likes of Mr. Booker Harris ( age 91) who was dumped from the back of a Ryder truck at the convention center where he DIED ( no food, water, medical care). He survived the KKK and the GREAT DEPRESSION but not the indifference of today's politicians. GWB could reach Arizona in record time with a melting birthday cake - but didn't make New Orleans til days later. I never did see John making the great trek.
I think a politician's PERSONAL life reflects what commitment and trust the citizenry can expect. Isn't it the Republicans touting family values/character and all that happy horse manure? John's wife Carol raised their three sons while he was in Vietnam . I personally don't believe for ONE minute that John was held in some stinking prison camp. I have worked with homeless veterans and Veterans Hospitals for years. They are disgusted by McCain - who called families of POWs 'charlatans '.
He has done everything possible to thwart POW investigations. He voted to normalize relations with Vietnam. McCain 'hugged' Col Bui Tin at hearings in Washington (supposedly his oppressor). Tin said "No, McCain was never tortured. He was too IMPORTANT. We called him the prince. He received special treatment." He was treated as landed gentry because his father was Commander of the Pacific Fleet (do the research on John's time in Vietnam. Check McCain collaborated with enemy - truth about John McCain). Carol got herself into a terrible car accident (went through windshield) and became totally disabled. John meantime, was out slopping around getting a new honey lined up. He certainly (no money) wasn't going to go far with not a pot to piss in and a disabled wife. TA DAH...he got himself some EYE CANDY in heiress (liquor) Cindy Heresley and divorcing disabled Carol. The rest is history...as he moved into his Arizona mansion (ranch).
Here he is with Evil Incarnate Kissenger. It was Kissenger/Nixon who promised the North Vietnamese $4.75 Billion in aid to return prisoners of war - oops, only a partial group were returned when Kissenger and Nixon reneged on their deal...thus, over a thousand + were left to rot. IOWA'S NUMBERS & NEW HAMPSHIRE

According to the counters, Ron Paul came in fifth in Iowa with an alleged 10% of the GOP vote. Many believe had Dr. Paul not been the target of a deliberate media smear (i.e., worldnetdaily.com's news item January 5, 2008 with the caption ‘GOP gadfly’ in describing Ron Paul), he would have been in the high teens, possibly 20%.
Allegedly, the numbers came out: Brother Huckabee 34%, Flip Romney 25%, Fred Thompson 13%, McCain 13%, Ron Paul 10%, Rudy Julie Annie 4% and Duncan Hunter 1%. In several counties in Iowa, Dr. Paul pulled in 35%, 14%, 15%, 21% and several with 12% of the vote. That didn't make the news. According to the pollsters, 47% of the GOP voters who turned out in Iowa are Evangelical Christians. What message did these Christian voters in Iowa send? Huckabee, Romney, Thompson, McCain and Hunter are all pro-war mongers who are firm in their commitment to this unconstitutional, immoral invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. They voted for more of this:
They support candidates (Brother Huck and McCain) who support illegal aliens and the lawlessness of this invasion. Those who voted for Ron Paul understand the agenda of the global monsters in their quest for world domination through endless wars and want no more of it. Those who voted for Ron Paul support his pledge to get rid of the domestic terrorist operation called the IRS, the thieves called the central bank (privately owned "FED"), stopping the illegals invasion and smaller government.
Breakdown. Registered voters as of 1 Nov '07: Democrats statewide 600,572; Republicans statewide 574,571. Iowa allows people to register on voting day so there is no way to know if they're in this country legally. Even legal status doesn't mean citizenship has been obtained with the right to vote. FAIR estimates the illegal alien population in 2007 at 55,000. Illegals vote Democrat because they support socialism and are here to steal from Americans whether its identity theft, jobs, education or health care.
But, are the numbers for real or what the machines were programmed to spit out? The media has reported a heavy turn out of 237,000 voters. Officials in Iowa said they expected 120,000-150,000 Democrats to turn out; 80,000- 90,000 Republicans. The polls pretty much conformed to the final count by the machines - with the exception of Ron Paul. Iowa uses a combination of fraud technology to "count" the votes.
If you add up the votes from ABC with 100% of the precincts reporting, you get 118,691 votes cast by Republicans.
According to the vote tallies by the Des Moines Register, these are the numbers from the 99 counties:
Huckabee 39,640; Romney 29,316; McCain 15,184; Thompson 15,639; Ron Paul 11,569; Julie Annie 4,016; Hunter 495
Total: 115,859 - difference from the alleged ABC numbers is 2,832 votes. Where are they? The Des Moines Register's numbers show a couple of counties that had precincts not “reported," but they are the very small ones, so there's maybe a couple hundred votes. I can't check the precincts because the Secretary of State's web site for Iowa doesn't have them posted yet.
How about problems with the vote count? According to Bev Harris at BlackBoxVoting.org in her post on January 4, 2008, there was a ten hour lag with the Republican count. "As many of us know, vote totals that go DOWN during the middle of the count can be an error, but also can signal an election theft tactic whereby votes from a candidate finishing very low in the pack are skimmed off and given to a favored candidate higher in the pack. If corroborated, the vote total shift will be another red flag." Could be what happened to Kucinich, Biden and Dodd: votes moved to the slick Barack Obama, who is pathetically ignorant about constitutional government?
As for the McCain vote in Iowa, I don't know how any veteran or active duty military could vote for that man. Besides the fact that he fought hard to give amnesty to 15+ MILLION ILLEGALS here stealing our jobs, killing America's husbands, fathers, sons, daughters, wives, mothers and fathers in crimes ranging from robbery to rape to the highways, education and driving our health care system into bankruptcy in many major cities, how about McCain's so-called efforts to bring home our POW/MIAs? Yes, he was a POW and suffered beyond what we can imagine, but you might consider this before you vote for him:

As for New Hampshire, these are the numbers: 1996 Bill Clinton and Pat Buchanan; 2000 Al Gore and John McCain. New Hampshire has approved new fraud machines: "The state Ballot Law Commission has approved new software for the state's voting machines. The Commission made its decision despite concern from some that the changes threaten secure and accurate elections....Sylvester's company LHS Associates has been supplying New Hampshire with voting machines since the mid-80's. He told the Commissioners the Diebold 194W program called firmware is proven."

Back-door flaws found in Diebold e-voting machines by Robert McMillan. "The flaws could be used to change election results on the systems. May 15, 2006 (IDG News Service) -- Diebold Election Systems Inc. plans to make changes to its electronic voting machines, following the disclosure of a number of serious security flaws in the systems. The voting watchdog organization Black Box Voting last week published a report (download PDF) detailing how Diebold's TS6 and TSx touch-pad voting machines could be compromised by taking advantage of back-door features designed to allow new software to be installed on the systems. Finnish security researcher Harri Hursti discovered back doors in the systems boot loader software, in the operating system and in the Ballot Station software that it runs to tabulate votes. The flaws could be used to change election results on the systems."
"Hackable Diebold Machines Covertly Re-Certified in California by SOS!" "State Senator Outraged, Says Machines, Certification Violates State, Federal Standards and Law...Secretary of State McPherson seems to have a thing for making major announcements late on Fridays just before holidays. Following in what seems to be a pattern of his, he announced late this afternoon that he was certifying Diebold Optical Scan and AccuVote TSx (touch-screens) for use in elections in the state.
"The re-certification (they had been originally decertified in California in 2004 when it was revealed Diebold had installed illegal software updates on the machines) is conditional on some items but not on the one thing point he had announced last December when he sent the system back to federal authorities for further testing. At that time he said he was sending the machine's memory cards to the federal Independent Testing Authority (ITA) Lab for reinspection in light of the news out of Leon County, Florida that the cards used "interpreted code" which is specifically banned by the Help America Vote Act (HAVA). A "hack test" in that county revealed that an entirely election could have its results flipped by a hacker exploiting that "interpreted code" -- without a trace being left behind.
"McPherson made his announcement today without waiting to hear back from the ITA lab. Last summer, after a massive mock election test with Diebold touch-screen machines revealed that 10% of them failed entirely with screens freezing and printers jamming -- later reports would reveal that as many as 30% of the machines actually failed! -- McPherson said, "We certainly can't take any kind of risk like that with this kind of device on California voters." Apparently the Secretary of State of America's largest "voting market," as Diebold refers to it, was just kidding about that."
"MD House Committee Votes 20-3 to Scrap Diebold Touch-Screens in State!" Signs are good in Maryland -- Diebold's original "showcase state" -- that the legislature there is finally wising up to the democracy undermining problem that is Diebold. According to AP -- yes, again AP -- the Democratic chaired House Ways and Means Committee "voted 20-3 on Friday to scrap the Diebold touch screen machines for at least this year and use paper ballots with an optical-scan system for the primary and general elections." The measure still has to move through the Senate, though the Republican Governor Robert Ehrlich has previously called for something very similar. So if the Senate moves, chances are the Guv will sign on."
Malfunctioning Diebold Voting Machines Run By Romney Team Member At Iowa Poll: "Ron Paul supporters were angered at this weekend's straw poll in Iowa by the fact that Diebold voting machines once again malfunctioned and caused significant delays in the count, coupled with the fact that a Mitt Romney team member was placed in charge of overseeing the voting procedure."
Those examples above are just a short list. You can type my name in a search engine + vote fraud and fifty columns will appear. There is no way of knowing what the real numbers turn out to be unless you spot check and hand count a dozen precincts in the state picked randomly in the biggest precincts. This should be a major issue, not just for Ron Paul supporters, but for all Americans. Our right to fair and impartial elections is sacred and they are being stolen from we the people to elect or reelect the lackeys who will carry out the agenda of the global masters.
But, electronic voting/counting machines are so convenient and fast!! You might not feel that way if you are the candidate. How about these numbers when I ran for Congress (primary, March 1996): 52 U.S. House seats. At one minute after the polls closed in California, the media announced the election returns which remained the same the next morning. Check these winners and losers percentages: 85-15, 81-18, 85-15, 81-18, 85-15, 85-15, 86-14 (my race), 87-13, 81-18 and 86-14. Not real creative. All incumbents who "won" voted for NAFTA. All the challengers were dead set against that destructive treaty. Are we getting the picture here? The bigger the state, the easier to cheat we the people.
Let me tell you one more thing about my race against Herger. We polled three weeks before the primary. The Second Congressional District has two huge counties, Butte and Shasta. After the polling in which there was only one question: If the election were held today, who would you vote for? Devvy Kidd or Congressman Herger. I was behind Herger by 7% points in Butte County. However, on "election" night, within minutes, Herger was declared the winner district wide with 86-14 percent of the vote with 1% of the precincts "reporting." The vote numbers remained the same at the end (4:12 am). From only a 7% deficit to getting crushed on vote night with no ripples in the campaign. I have not run again because of the machines. Too many good, decent people spent a lot of money and time on my campaign, not to mention having their hopes smashed via high technology theft.
What is the cost of a hand recount? I don't know about New Hampshire, but I can tell you about California. If there is a problem not caused by the candidate, the county would absorb the cost. If the candidate wants a hand recount - meaning no machines, each ballot hand counted in front of county employees, the candidate and/or representatives out in the open with someone filming the event. What the candidate pays for is the facility and the hourly wage or whatever compensation is determined for a county employee (some could be on a monthly pay scale vs hourly). In other words, let's say you have 12,000 ballots and you're only counting president. X number of county employees could count them in a day or two. You're not talking about much money here. But, we are talking about stealing votes.
I have said in previous columns that Ron Paul must audit some of those precincts; medium to large at random in New Hampshire. This is the only way we're going to know the true count BEFORE Super Tuesday, February 5, 2008 (up to 22 states) because I can tell you that's going to be a disaster, again. While Congressman Paul may not outright win the state, we must know the true numbers and what is handed out tomorrow night to the media isn't going to be factual, I promise you. I sincerely hope you will continue to call Ron Paul's New Hampshire Campaign HQ and let them know you are onto the machines and want a random hand recount.

$100 A Barrel? What is the True Cost of Gasoline?
We've done it. We've finally reached the psychologically important $100/barrel oil. The recent surge that got us there is more likely due to the plummeting dollar than other factors, but nonetheless will ultimately impact the price paid for gasoline at the pump. But even as the price goes higher, there are additional costs that are not paid at the pump. What are they, and who's paying them?
In addition to the internalized cost of fossil fuels such as gasoline and diesel we must also consider the many significant externalized costs. Of these externalized costs some are internalized by tax-payers (oil industry subsidies, military patrols of oil shipping lanes, etc.) while others are left for the global population and future generations to bear (climate change damages, global health effects, etc.).

Let's take 2005 numbers because that's what I have available (the thought process is what matters):
The average US retail gasoline price during 2005 was $2.240. During that same time period the retail price of US No. 2 diesel (on highway) was $2.402. Additionally, the subsidized rate for agricultural (off highway) diesel was $1.65 in 2005. Since agricultural diesel is essentially the same as on-highway diesel (except for the addition of red dye), the US government (i.e. taxpayers) subsidizes $0.752 of every gallon ($2.402 - $1.65).
In addition to this farm subsidy the US government subsidizes all petroleum fuel with over $49 billion in military expenses to ensure the flow of Persian Gulf petroleum resources, the equivalent of $1.17 per gallon. According to the International Center for Technology Assessment and the conservative National Defense Council Foundation, the true cost of gasoline and diesel is a minimum of $5.60 per gallon and over $5.20 per gallon, respectively.
Using the 2005 average US retail fuel prices mentioned above, regular gasoline during 2005 was therefore subsidized between $3.36 and $2.96, and diesel fuel is subsidized between $3.20 and $2.80, at a minimum. This also means that the total subsidy for agricultural diesel amounts to between $3.95 and $3.55 per gallon. Since fuel is a variable input, the consumer is indirectly responsible for these additional costs relative to each purchase made. However, this burden is spread through society through taxation, based on income level, not purchasing habits. Since taxes are seen as a given ("two things are certain in life: death and taxes") people do not realize the true cost of purchases that they make.
The truly externalized costs of fuel use, such as the cost of global climate change, are more difficult to quantify since the effects of today's CO2 emissions may affect the climate for several years into the future. In fact, the estimated half-life (the time in which half of a given substance decays) of atmospheric CO2 is 38 years. However, very little data exists on the projected costs of today's CO2 emissions in future years so we must rely on current data on emissions and global climate-change related damages.
In 2003 global CO2 emissions exceeded 7500 million metric tons (Mt) as atmospheric CO2 levels reached 376.3 PPM (0.03763%). Pre-industrial levels were around 280 PPM (0.028%). According to Senior UN official Klaus Toepfer the global cost of climate change in 2003 was $60 billion. Therefore the climate change related portion of the cost of CO2 emissions is $8.00 per ton ($60x109 / 7.5x109 t).
According to a World Health Organization (WHO) report human-induced changes in the Earth's climate lead to at least 5 million cases of illness and more than 150,000 deaths every year. The standard insurance industry figure for the value of a human life is given at $1 million, making the global cost of human lives due to climate change $150 Billion. Therefore the human health related portion of the cost of CO2 emissions is $20.00 per ton ($150x109 / 7.5x109 t). There are additional health costs, such as those associated with asthma but it's even more complicated to add them here.
According to the EPA, "a gallon of gasoline is assumed to produce 8.8 kilograms (or 19.4 pounds) of CO2" which, thrown into the math above ($28 per ton * 8.8kg) tacks on about 25 more cents to the gallon's price.
This analysis is likely quite conservative and is meant as an illustration that gives light to the many hidden costs we are already paying out of pocket, if not at the pump. Google "True Price of a Gallon of Gas" for a variety of other estimates.

The National Transportation Safety Board, NTSB, and its predecessor federal agencies, have a long, sorry history of covering up foul play involved in some aircraft disasters. The word "sabotage" is a dirty, forbidden word to them and the airline industry. How can they sell tickets if passengers are haunted by the idea that some planes are put down by bombs, missiles, or other bloody work? Some NTSB panel members, in the past, have been suspected of concealing that some of their family members and cronies have financial interests, if not actual stock ownership, in the airline travel business.
There is, in short, nothing safe about the Safety Board.
About 1965 a commercial plane was en route to Chicago. Just offshore of the Windy City, the plane blew up and fell in relatively shallow water of Lake Michigan. Early news accounts in some of the newspapers said a bomb was suspected. Later editions, like with political assassinations, cleaned up the messy details. Further stories dismissed the crash as merely some kind of "accident".
One night a diver went down to the wreckage and apparently stole one of the "black boxes", that records various parameters of the plane's operations or records voices in the cockpit. Also removed were apparently certain items in the wreckage. What was that all about? According to some news reports, it was some kind of an unsolved mystery. Left out of reports in the monopoly press were that one of the passengers was a disgruntled top official of the American CIA. He was on the way to meeting a prominent journalist in Chicago. He was going to turn over documents showing that there had been a high-level cabal implicated in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963. [Not the only time key witnesses were snuffed out on the way to meet with reporters. Example, the Karen Silkwood case. AND, see our details in an earlier story, about Reporters and Assassins(they sleep together)].
These details I had confirmed to me from two reliable sources. One of them was federal air crash inspector. Unlike some of his colleagues, he had several times endangered his job and career demanding the truth be told about some crashes. BUT, his superiors always told him to "shut up".
The facts were simple. To silence a top espionage official an entire plane was put in the drink killing all onboard.
In December, 1972, one month after President Nixon was re-elected, a commercial plane was headed from Washington's National Airport, set for a stop in Chicago. Among the passengers were twelve WATERGATE figures, including Mrs. E. Howard Hunt, wife of the Watergate burglar. She was nervous about her luggage. So, she bought an additional first class seat ticket for her baggage right near her. Why? Well, contained there was two million dollars of "hush" money, that her husband reportedly blackmailed out of Nixon. Both Mr. and Mrs. E. Howard Hunt were long-time CIA officials. Both reportedly knew about the role of Tricky Dick implicated in the political assassination of President Kennedy. The two million dollars in valuables were to be "parked" apparently with her Chicago-area relatives, one of whom reportedly owns a sizable accounting and motel operation some say is tied to the "boys", the traditional mafia.
Some of the passengers perished when the United Air Lines plane pancaked just short of Midway Airport. Sooner than the police and fire departments, 150 FBI agents were already in the crash zone keeping local authorities away from the smoldering plane. The FBI headquarters is 12 miles away. How did that many FBI get there that soon, ahead of the fire and police? The FBI apparently were already in the vicinity of the airport waiting to take Mrs. Hunt and some of the other Watergators into custody, to be charged with extortion, that is, shaking down a federal official, namely President Nixon. It was supposed to result in a secret "national security" federal criminal prosecution with the court records sealed.
From all the details we uncovered, we knew Mrs. Hunt and some of her confederates survived the pancaked air plane and were poisoned later by the FBI.
We arranged to "liberate" the entire 1300 pages of documents and pictures of the National Transportation Safety Board, showing sabotage. The NTSB did NOT intend to release THOSE documents in the form they had them. Without telling the NTSB we had their file, we sued the NTSB, claiming sabotage cover up. A local crooked judge, however, put us out of Court without any formal hearing. Because of the lawsuit, the NTSB re-opened their public investigation later. Because of talk radio at the time we had caused a commotion and United Air Lines, likewise unaware we had the complete suppressed file, demanded we be questioned and silenced by the NTSB.
At the start of two full days of special public hearings, I grilled the NTSB panel members on their conflicts of interest, because they were financially tied to the airline industry and United Air Lines. They refused to answer my questions and threatened to remove me from the special hearing where dozens of Establishment reporters had gathered from all over.
I opened up several suitcases containing THEIR records. In front of numerous national reporters and spectators, about 250 in all, I defied the NTSB panel to then and there arrest me for having THEIR file. They ordered me as the subpoenaed witness together with my other witnesseses to proceed. I demonstrated it was most likely a fraud that the NTSB claimed the "black box" from the rear of the plane, the Flight Recorder, had been supposedly "jammed" and no recording made of the technical features of the flight. I showed THEIR transcript of the Cockpit Voice Recorder, proving the airport "Outer Marker", a key navigation instrument, had been turned off ONLY for the Watergate plane. Another key landing instrument device, according to the documents, was turned off for this flight as well. Result: the plane was falsely steered into the ground, and the plane pancaked short of the airport.
I showed THEIR own documents proving the electrical system of the plane had been sabotaged. I put into their faces THEIR own report showing the bodies of Mrs. E.Howard Hunt and her group had an unexplained high-level of cyanide.
I put on the witness stand two witnesses regarding a federal espionage operative who, in a jumpsuit, escaped from the tail of the plane. In an interview, he had blurted out that it was NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN, meaning the pancaking of the plane was not to have occurred. Mrs. Hunt and the others with her were supposed to have been arrested by the FBI when they were to have gotten off the plane at Midway Airport.
I had the documents and pictures all spread out on a large table in front of the NTSB panel. During a recess, a reporter for the Hearst Newspaper chain said to me, "You have not proved, Mr. Skolnick, there was a bomb on that plane. Without that, you don't have anything." Angry, I replied, "Look, friend, not every plane put down by sabotage is because of a bomb onboard." He said, "I don't care. I am not reporting anything from here unless you prove there was a bomb."
The Chicago Tribune photographer and a reporter took a picture of me at the huge table full of suppressed NTSB documents and pictures. In their newspaper, however, they chopped off part of the picture showing the table with the pictures and documents laid out there, and only showed a picture of me. Their story alongside their phony picture, said "Skolnick has no documents of any kind to prove his charges of sabotage."
After a long, full day of testimony, I made a joke. "I do categorically admit that I have no proof whatever that President Nixon and his crony the President of United Air Lines got on that plane and ever shot Mrs. E.Howard Hunt with a 38 caliber gun." In a screaming headline, the Chicago Sun-Times blasted me, turning my joke against me, stating "Skolnick admits No Proof Whatever of Sabotage". I was sore and when I again saw the reporter I said to him, "Friend, this wheelchair is an uninsured, unlicensed vehicle. So if I run you over and put YOU in a wheelchair, well, it is perfectly legal."
To their credit, Associated Press, AP,on their national wire, ran a story, "Chicago legal researcher Sherman H. Skolnick today has presented to a special hearing of the National Transportation Safety Board a heavily documented case of sabotage in a plane crash in which Mrs. E. Howard Hunt and others perished." Only one newspaper, being in the State of Washington, used the AP story. The rest, catering to United Air Lines' owners, the Rockefeller Family, were silent. The Rockefellers own all three major news networks, then and now. Later, in the so-called "Final Report", the NTSB said it was "pilot error" that caused the crash. As part of the whitewash, they released a falsified version of the transcript of the Cockpit Voice Record er, covering up details tied to the other documents we had showing sabotage. Since I had the transcript before it was falsified by them, I had proof they were rotten liars. If the documents and pictures were widely publicized, which they were not, United Air Lines, then the largest U.S. airline, would have or could have lost their certificate to fly, putting them out of business for covering up airplane sabotage killing 12 Watergate figures, among other passengers.
Soon thereafter, I wrote a book, "The Secret History of Airplane Sabotage". It was a favorite device, I noted, for Adolph Hitler to get rid of his opponents. The book was stopped in the printing cycle by the Rockefeller Family lawyers. Alas, no copies are available.
Later in the 1970s I spoke on college lecture platforms demonstrating the suppressed 1300 documents and pictures of the NTSB. The result of all my efforts? The monopoly press which had once reported some of my crusading efforts in voting cases and judicial corruption, started a total news blackout. Mentioning anything about Skolnick was forbidden. Until I became part of a non-commercial, public access Cable TV Show in 1991, and in 1995 became the moderator/producer of the same----until then, people would stop me and ask, "I don't see you anymore on TV, Mr. Skolnick. I thought you quit, were dead, or left the country."
I mention all this because it seems we are to suffer more of the fraud by the commercial-airline-dominated National Transportation Safety Board.
In 1996 Vice President Albert Gore, Jr., returned from Europe reportedly with a complete list of airplanes shot down by missiles, whether by terrorists or by "friendly fire" mistakes. Most of those on the list apparently had not been mentioned in the monopoly press. Once part of the Senate Intelligence Subcommittee. Gore has been in a position to understand these things from the standpoint of espionage agencies and their dirty work. Is it just because of "national security" excuses that the list has not been made public?
Regarding the crash of EgyptAir Flight 990, the federal secret political police, the FBI, have caused their media lap dogs to mislead the public that Flight 990 crashed into the Atlantic Ocean because a relief co-pilot grabbed hold of the controls and, wanting to commit suicide, aimed the plane down toward the water. "The liars and Whores of the Press" went along with the FBI, trumpeting that this co-pilot had mouthed off some religious words indicating he was about to commit suicide. Because of the alternative press, postings on Internet, talk radio, and such, the monopoly press could not quite get away with this fraudulent explanation.
Without coming right out and saying, "On behalf of the FBI, we lied to you last week," the Associated Press story started out,"The suspicious words 'I made my decision now', are not on the cockpit voice recorder of EgyptAir Flight 990 after all, a government official says." [AP story, 11/20/99.] Since the NTSB policy is never to release the actual tape, how can we ever independently verify what, if anything, was said in that ill-fated cockpit? Like the Watergate plane crash in 1972, are the FBI and NTSB going to fake up a supposed transcript of the Cockpit Voice Recorder of Flight 990 to release to the sucker public? Like some crusaders, WHO is prepared to somehow arrange to grab their records and fling them into the face of the secret political police and the Unsafety Board fakers?
Some as yet unanswered questions about Flight 990:
1. Was the Cockpit Voice Recorder actually retrieved much earlier than revealed, altered, and then flung back into the ocean to be "found" later?
2. Were some of the upwards of 60 Egyptian military officers on that plane---some already revealed, some not yet---FOR or AGAINST the Established government in Cairo? [As an example: 8 officials of the French CIA died in the apparent missile attack on TWA Flight 800. A top officials of that French spy agency, however, at the last minute, refused to get on that flight with his colleagues. Sixty French nationals died in Flight 800 which had been bound for Paris.]
3. Did the American CIA, experts in airplane sabotage, play any role in the demise of Flight 990? 4. Why do the fakers, in the press, in the FBI, in the NTSB, keep mouthing off about the sole importance of the "black boxes"? The super-secret National Reconnaissance Office, NRO, in charge of satellites and video imaging from satellites, has accurate images showing whether there was an outburst of an explosive device on Flight 990, or a missile hit or near-hit, which the pilots may have been trying to evade. Apparently a U.S. Coast guard sub-chaser plane, a P-3, mentioned only in early reports, was shadowing Flight 990. Why? And why isn't the public told that foreign submarines, some hostile to the U.S. and missile-equipped, often lay offshore on the East Coast? The P-3 can spot submarines at the bottom of the ocean. And what about the several sub-chasing airplanes in the vicinity of TWA Flight 800?
[Counter-terrorist experts who appeared on one of my TV Shows, off-camera told me that the best informed believe a former Soviet submarine, bought and owned by Iran, manned by a Russian mercenary crew, apparently downed Flight 800 with submarine-based missiles, as known to the Clinton White House. And Clinton did not and does not want to start up with Iran, but rather, to divert public attention from his scandals, by attacking Iran's archenemy, Iraq.]
For national security, the Eastern seaboard is surveilled practically inch-by-inch by NRO satellites. Until about 1995, it was unlawful and forbidden to mention in the monopoly press that such an agency as the NRO even exists. A key official of the NRO, Daniel Potter, was murdered in March, 1998. He was an expert on video imaging and was aware the agency had images showing, for example, the missiles attacking TWA Flight 800. And had images showing Clinton White House Deputy Counsel Vincent W. Foster, Jr.'s body was removed from near the White House and parked in Fort Marcy Park, Virginia, as if he committed suicide when he was,in fact, murdered. The bottom line: Does not the U.S. Government and the Clinton White House already know what happened to EgyptAir Flight 990? And are they heading off, by leaked lies, a huge airplane sabotage commotion with international implications? Cynics say the answer for traveling within the U.S. is to have speedy "bullet" trains like Japan.

What was the greatest failure of 2007? President Bush's "surge" in Iraq? The decline in the value of the US dollar? Subprime mortgages? No. The greatest failure of 2007 was the newly sworn in Democratic Congress.
The American people's attempt in November 2006 to rein in a rogue government, which has committed the US to costly military adventures while running roughshod over the US Constitution, failed. Replacing Republicans with Democrats in the House and Senate has made no difference.
The assault on the US Constitution by the Democratic Party is as determined as the assault by the Republicans. On October 23, 2007, the House passed a bill sponsored by California Democratic congresswoman Jane Harman, chairwoman of a Homeland Security subcommittee, that overturns the constitutionally guaranteed rights to free expression, association, and assembly.
The bill passed the House on a vote of 404-6. In the Senate the bill is sponsored by Maine Republican Susan Collins and apparently faces no meaningful opposition.
Harman's bill is called the "
We are beginning to see who will be the inmates of the detention centers being built in the US by Halliburton under government contract.
Who will be on the "extremist beliefs" list? The answer is: civil libertarians, critics of Israel, 9/11 skeptics, critics of the administration's wars and foreign policies, critics of the administration's use of kidnapping, rendition, torture and violation of the Geneva Conventions, and critics of the administration's spying on Americans. Anyone in the way of a powerful interest group--such as environmentalists opposing politically connected developers--is also a candidate for the list.
The "Extremist Beliefs Commission" is the mechanism for identifying Americans who pose "a threat to domestic security" and a threat of "homegrown terrorism" that "cannot be easily prevented through traditional federal intelligence or law enforcement efforts."
This bill is a boon for nasty people. That SOB who stole your girlfriend, that hussy who stole your boyfriend, the gun owner next door--just report them to Homeland Security as holders of extreme beliefs. Homeland Security needs suspects, so they are not going to check. Under the new regime, accusation is evidence. Moreover, "our" elected representatives will never admit that they voted for a bill and created an "Extremist Belief Commission" for which there is neither need nor constitutional basis.
That boss who harasses you for coming late to work--he's a good candidate to be reported; so is that minority employee that you can't fire for any normal reason. So is the husband of that good-looking woman you have been unable to seduce. Every kind of quarrel and jealousy can now be settled with a phone call to Homeland Security.
Soon Halliburton will be building more detention centers.
Americans are so far removed from the roots of their liberty that they just don't get it. Most Americans don't know what habeas corpus is or why it is important to them. But they know what they want, and Jane Harman has given them a new way to settle scores and to advance their own interests.
Even educated liberals believe that the US Constitution is a "living document" that can be changed to mean whatever it needs to mean in order to accommodate some new important cause, such as abortion and legal privileges for minorities and the handicapped. Today it is the "war on terror" that the Constitution must accommodate. Tomorrow it can be the war on whomever or whatever.
Think about it. More than six years ago the World Trade Center and Pentagon were attacked. The US government blamed it on al Qaeda. The 9/11 Commission Report has been subjected to criticism by a large number of qualified people--including the commission's chairman and co-chairman.
Since 9/11 there have been no terrorist attacks in the US. The FBI has tried to orchestrate a few, but the "terrorist plots" never got beyond talk organized and led by FBI agents. There are no visible extremist groups other than the neoconservatives that control the government in Washington. But somehow the House of Representatives overwhelmingly sees a need to create a commission to take testimony and search out extremist views (outside of Washington, of course).
This search for extremist views comes after President Bush and the Justice (sic) Department declared that the President can ignore habeas corpus, ignore the Geneva Conventions, seize people without evidence, hold them indefinitely without presenting charges, torture them until they confess to some made up crime, and take over the government by declaring an emergency. Of course, none of these "patriotic" views are extremist.
The search for extremist views follows also the granting of contracts to Halliburton to build detention centers in the US. No member of Congress or the executive branch ever explained the need for the detention centers or who the detainees would be. Of course, there is nothing extremist about building detention centers in the US for undisclosed inmates.
Clearly the detention centers are not meant to just stand there empty. Thanks to 2007's greatest failure--the Democratic Congress--there is to be an "Extremist Beliefs Commission" to secure inmates for Bush's detention centers.
President Bush promises us that the wars he has launched will cause the "untamed fire of freedom" to "reach the darkest corners of our world." Meanwhile in America the fire of freedom has not only been tamed but also is being extinguished.
The light of liberty has gone out in the United States.

We lost the so called "War on Drugs" a long time ago and it's time to introduce a little common sense. Gov. Jim Douglas' spat with Windsor County prosecutor Robert Sand brought this issue to our attention just recently. I think that the Vermont Lottery does more harm to Vermont citizens than smoking marijuana. The Lottery Commissioner always shouts, "Please play responsibly!" while he and his staff are dreaming up more games to fleece those people who can least afford to lose the money.
Now the governor is talking about leasing the lottery to a private business that will probably further abuse our citizens. The money realized from the proposed lease would be used to help fund our public education program and maybe reduce taxes. Why not get rid of the lottery and find another, more responsible, way to raise money to support the education of our children?
The Vermont prison population continues to grow even though we have farmed out inmates to other locations. Corrections officials, the Legislature and the administration say they are now very concerned. They should be, and maybe they should take some time to find out how many "criminals" they have incarcerated because they were in possession of "significant" amounts of marijuana.
Enforcement officials hold press conferences around here if they seize a few pounds of marijuana. Is that really a significant amount, and should it be enough to send someone to jail when our correctional institutions are bursting at the seams? What is the recidivism rate for those marijuana violators that we have incarcerated? We probably don't have answers for those questions or many others that could be posed. The point is that we need to reconsider our law enforcement stance on marijuana as part of any larger study that we appear poised to do on the ever-increasing Vermont prison population.
There is no argument that Vermont is one of the most heavily taxed states in the country. Despite this, our roads are in horrible shape, we never seem to have enough money for education and the corrections system is bleeding us dry. So where do we go for help? If an adult could legally buy enough marijuana and the paper to roll a cigarette at one of the local convenience stores, would that be the end of the world? I don't think so. The state could tax the hell out of that transaction in order to help pay for our roads and fund our schools. We could probably stop stealing money from people with the Vermont Lottery. Marijuana arrests, related criminal activity and incarceration would decline. Oh, and if someone with a medical condition who could benefit from smoking an occasional joint were able to use some marijuana without feeling like a criminal, that would be nice, too.
We passed the civil unions law in Vermont and the sky didn't fall. Gay marriage doesn't look like it is far behind and the sky still hasn't fallen. Incredibly, we sold and gave up control of Vermont Yankee to a private company and just lately seem "concerned" about some safety issues, including the long-term storage of nuclear waste on the banks of the Connecticut River. I wonder if the sky might fall on that decision?
However, if we allow the same person who can now legally buy a six-pack of beer, a carton of cigarettes or a bunch of lottery tickets at Cumberland Farms to also purchase a personal-use supply of marijuana, the sky will not even notice. After a few months, I don't think anyone will notice except law enforcement, the Corrections Department, the state treasurer and maybe the lottery commissioner.

ISLAMABAD (AFP) -- Pakistan reacted angrily Sunday to reports that US President George W. Bush is considering covert military operations in the country's volatile tribal areas bordering Afghanistan.
"It is not up to the US administration, it is Pakistan's government who is responsible for this country," chief military spokesman Major General Waheed Arshad told AFP.
"There are no overt or covert US operations inside Pakistan. Such reports are baseless and we reject them."
The New York Times reported on its website late Saturday that under a proposal being discussed in Washington, CIA operatives based in Afghanistan would be able to call on direct military support for counter-terrorism operations in neighbouring Pakistan.
Citing unnamed senior administration officials, the newspaper said the proposal called for giving Central Intelligence Agency agents broader powers to strike targets in Pakistan.
Pakistan's western tribal belt is seen as a safe haven for Taliban and Al-Qaeda militants who carry out attacks in Afghanistan, as well as the most likely hideout for Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
The United States now has about 50 soldiers in Pakistan, the report said.
The new plan was reportedly discussed by vice-president Dick Cheney, secretary of state Condoleezza Rice and national security aides in the wake of the December 27 assassination of Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto.
Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf had not been consulted, the New York Times reported.
Military spokesman Arshad also dismissed comments from White House hopeful Hillary Clinton that she would propose a joint US-British team to oversee the security of Pakistan's nuclear arsenal if she was elected president.
"We do not require anybody's assistance. We are fully capable of doing it on our own," he said.
Pakistan's foreign ministry spokesman Mohammad Sadiq late Sunday described the New York Times report as "speculative" but said any suggestion of US forces on its territory was "unacceptable".
On Clinton's remarks about nuclear weapons, Sadiq added: "It must be clearly understood that Pakistan alone is and will be responsible for the security of its nuclear assets."

A Whistleblower has made a series of extraordinary claims about how corrupt government officials allowed Pakistan and other states to steal nuclear weapons secrets.
Sibel Edmonds, a 37-year-old former Turkish language translator for the FBI, listened into hundreds of sensitive intercepted conversations while based at the agency's Washington field office.
She approached The Sunday Times last month after reading about an Al-Qaeda terrorist who had revealed his role in training some of the 9/11 hijackers while he was in Turkey.
Edmonds described how foreign intelligence agents had enlisted the support of US officials to acquire a network of moles in sensitive military and nuclear institutions.
Among the hours of covert tape recordings, she says she heard evidence that one well-known senior official in the US State Department was being paid by Turkish agents in Washington who were selling the information on to black market buyers, including Pakistan.
The name of the official who has held a series of top government posts is known to The Sunday Times. He strongly denies the claims.
However, Edmonds said: "He was aiding foreign operatives against US interests by passing them highly classified information, not only from the State Department but also from the Pentagon, in exchange for money, position and political objectives."
She claims that the FBI was also gathering evidence against senior Pentagon officials including household names who were aiding foreign agents.
"If you made public all the information that the FBI have on this case, you will see very high-level people going through criminal trials," she said.
Her story shows just how much the West was infiltrated by foreign states seeking nuclear secrets. It illustrates how western government officials turned a blind eye to, or were even helping, countries such as Pakistan acquire bomb technology.
The wider nuclear network has been monitored for many years by a joint Anglo-American intelligence effort. But rather than shut it down, investigations by law enforcement bodies such as the FBI and Britain's Revenue & Customs have been aborted to preserve diplomatic relations.
Edmonds, a fluent speaker of Turkish and Farsi, was recruited by the FBI in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. Her previous claims about incompetence inside the FBI have been well documented in America.
She has given evidence to closed sessions of Congress and the 9/11 commission, but many of the key points of her testimony have remained secret. She has now decided to divulge some of that information after becoming disillusioned with the US authorities' failure to act.
One of Edmonds's main roles in the FBI was to translate thousands of hours of conversations by Turkish diplomatic and political targets that had been covertly recorded by the agency.
A backlog of tapes had built up, dating back to 1997, which were needed for an FBI investigation into links between the Turks and Pakistani, Israeli and US targets. Before she left the FBI in 2002 she heard evidence that pointed to money laundering, drug imports and attempts to acquire nuclear and conventional weapons technology.
"What I found was damning," she said. "While the FBI was investigating, several arms of the government were shielding what was going on."
The Turks and Israelis had planted "moles" in military and academic institutions which handled nuclear technology. Edmonds says there were several transactions of nuclear material every month, with the Pakistanis being among the eventual buyers. "The network appeared to be obtaining information from every nuclear agency in the United States," she said.
They were helped, she says, by the high-ranking State Department official who provided some of their moles mainly PhD students with security clearance to work in sensitive nuclear research facilities. These included the Los Alamos nuclear laboratory in New Mexico, which is responsible for the security of the US nuclear deterrent.
In one conversation Edmonds heard the official arranging to pick up a $15,000 cash bribe. The package was to be dropped off at an agreed location by someone in the Turkish diplomatic community who was working for the network.
The Turks, she says, often acted as a conduit for the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Pakistan's spy agency, because they were less likely to attract suspicion. Venues such as the American Turkish Council in Washington were used to drop off the cash, which was picked up by the official.
Edmonds said: "I heard at least three transactions like this over a period of 212 years. There are almost certainly more."
The Pakistani operation was led by General Mahmoud Ahmad, then the ISI chief.
Intercepted communications showed Ahmad and his colleagues stationed in Washington were in constant contact with attachés in the Turkish embassy.
Intelligence analysts say that members of the ISI were close to Al-Qaeda before and after 9/11. Indeed, Ahmad was accused of sanctioning a $100,000 wire payment to Mohammed Atta, one of the 9/11 hijackers, immediately before the attacks.
The results of the espionage were almost certainly passed to Abdul Qadeer Khan, the Pakistani nuclear scientist.
Khan was close to Ahmad and the ISI. While running Pakistan's nuclear programme, he became a millionaire by selling atomic secrets to Libya, Iran and North Korea. He also used a network of companies in America and Britain to obtain components for a nuclear programme.
Khan caused an alert among western intelligence agencies when his aides met Osama Bin Laden. "We were aware of contact between A Q Khan's people and Al-Qaeda," a former CIA officer said last week. "There was absolute panic when we initially discovered this, but it kind of panned out in the end."
It is likely that the nuclear secrets stolen from the United States would have been sold to a number of rogue states by Khan.
Edmonds was later to see the scope of the Pakistani connections when it was revealed that one of her fellow translators at the FBI was the daughter of a Pakistani embassy official who worked for Ahmad. The translator was given top secret clearance despite protests from FBI investigators.
Edmonds says packages containing nuclear secrets were delivered by Turkish operatives, using their cover as members of the diplomatic and military community, to contacts at the Pakistani embassy in Washington.
Following 9/11, a number of the foreign operatives were taken in for questioning by the FBI on suspicion that they knew about or somehow aided the attacks.
Edmonds said the State Department official once again proved useful. "A primary target would call the official and point to names on the list and say, 'We need to get them out of the US because we can't afford for them to spill the beans'," she said. "The official said that he would 'take care of it'."
The four suspects on the list were released from interrogation and extradited.
Edmonds also claims that a number of senior officials in the Pentagon had helped Israeli and Turkish agents.
"The people provided lists of potential moles from Pentagon-related institutions who had access to databases concerning this information," she said.
"The handlers, who were part of the diplomatic community, would then try to recruit those people to become moles for the network. The lists contained all their 'hooking points', which could be financial or sexual pressure points, their exact job in the Pentagon and what stuff they had access to."
One of the Pentagon figures under investigation was Lawrence Franklin, a former Pentagon analyst, who was jailed in 2006 for passing US defence information to lobbyists and sharing classified information with an Israeli diplomat.
"He was one of the top people providing information and packages during 2000 and 2001," she said.
Once acquired, the nuclear secrets could have gone anywhere. The FBI monitored Turkish diplomats who were selling copies of the information to the highest bidder.
Edmonds said: "Certain greedy Turkish operators would make copies of the material and look around for buyers. They had agents who would find potential buyers."
In summer 2000, Edmonds says the FBI monitored one of the agents as he met two Saudi Arabian businessmen in Detroit to sell nuclear information that had been stolen from an air force base in Alabama. She overheard the agent saying: "We have a package and we're going to sell it for $250,000."
Edmonds's employment with the FBI lasted for just six months. In March 2002 she was dismissed after accusing a colleague of covering up illicit activity involving Turkish nationals.
She has always claimed that she was victimised for being outspoken and was vindicated by an Office of the Inspector General review of her case three years later. It found that one of the contributory reasons for her sacking was that she had made valid complaints.
The US attorney-general has imposed a state secrets privilege order on her, which prevents her revealing more details of the FBI's methods and current investigations.
Her allegations were heard in a closed session of Congress, but no action has been taken and she continues to campaign for a public hearing.
She was able to discuss the case with The Sunday Times because, by the end of January 2002, the justice department had shut down the programme.
The senior official in the State Department no longer works there. Last week he denied all of Edmonds's allegations: "If you are calling me to say somebody said that I took money, that's outrageous . . . I do not have anything to say about such stupid ridiculous things as this."
In researching this article, The Sunday Times has talked to two FBI officers (one serving, one former) and two former CIA sources who worked on nuclear proliferation. While none was aware of specific allegations against officials she names, they did provide overlapping corroboration of Edmonds's story.
One of the CIA sources confirmed that the Turks had acquired nuclear secrets from the United States and shared the information with Pakistan and Israel. "We have no indication that Turkey has its own nuclear ambitions. But the Turks are traders. To my knowledge they became big players in the late 1990s," the source said.
