RON PAUL IS NOT QUITTING THE RACE

I have just returned from a monster Ron Paul rally in Lake Jackson, Texas. The hall held about 1,000 people and was so full they had to close the doors. The crowd outside was almost as big, so Dr. Ron had to speak both inside and outside. He assured us that he is not – is not – is not quitting the national race.

Of course the enemy is trying to persuade you that he is, trying to discourage you. If you discourage yourself, you are doing exactly what they want. I was there, saw and heard it all, and saw no sign of discouragement in the candidate or in the roaring and chanting celebrants. The enemy concocted this new, preposterous assertion because Dr. No has sensibly adjusted his tactics to conform to the latest events.

Yes, he has cut staff; with Super Tuesday behind us the bigger staff is not necessary. Should he have wasted precious money and kept them on? Not only has he not quit the national race, but also that race is not at all decided. Traitor McCain does have a substantial lead, but he is nowhere near home, and conspiracy for world government puppet Huck still is winning (Kansas) delegates.

If the traitor cannot win enough delegates on the first ballot at the national convention, it becomes “brokered,” which means the delegates are free to do whatever they like. Anything could happen and Dr. No will be there, along with a small, but carnivorous group. So it is important that Trader Huck stay in the race. Yes, we know he is there to scarf up whatever trash he can to install in his trailer; whatever, we need him to stay in the race.

I said recently that there could be leakage from the departed Romney to Dr. Ron. At the recent CPAC convention, Romney supporters were so furious when Mitt bowed out that they gave up their display table to the Paul people after his announcement. There is also Dr. No’s new book, The Revolution, which will be published April 30th, and is already an amazon.com best-seller.

The Prostitute National Press has also engendered confusion because Texas law allows Dr. Paul to run for reelection to Congress while he runs for President, and that is what he is doing. The PNP says this means he has abandoned the national race. In fact, the opposite is true. The next big primary is Texas, on March 4th. Its 142 delegates make it even more important than we natives thought it was. (I admit I didn’t think that was possible.)

The two campaigns will obviously nourish each other. Everything Dr. No does to campaign for Congress will automatically enhance the national campaign. For instance, Texas radio and television are now running about $700,000 worth of ads for Dr. Paul. Does that sound like he is dropping out of something?

In my last piece, which proved that the Republican Party has been Red from the start, I warned that it would certainly try to sabotage Dr. Ron. Now, here comes another neocon who is running against him in the upcoming primary for the seat in Congress. He is Chris Peden, who earlier told Ron that he would not run against him. Is this some kind of record? Flippery Chris is flipping even before the campaign begins.

By the way, the Galveston Daily News (1/12/07) reported a monumental endorsement for Ron: “I have an immense amount of respect for Ron Paul. Politics has a way of forcing people to go against their core principles for political gain. That has never been the case for Ron Paul.” Who is the author of this expression of immense respect?

The author is . . . Chris Peden. That is correct. I asked Chris about it after Dr. No’s monster rally yesterday. Peden was speaking to a handful of people next door. He confirmed that he had said it. We don’t know who told him what to change his mind about running against Ron. I believe this statement by Peden is immensely important because it proves that something stinks. The Paul people should plaster the Congressional District with it.

Despite all this, I am receiving some emails – enough to answer publicly – that express frustration about Ron’s personal style. Some Nervous Nellies (sorry, Nell) and Weak Sisters (sorry, Sis) pout that Dr. Paul is not combative enough. Yes, thank God, he certainly is not as combative as Traitor John Hundred Years War McClunk. Yes, he has the reflective temperament of a college professor or the country doctor that he is.

Let me set you pouters straight. At First Manassas, sublime Christian hero Stonewall Jackson stood like a stone wall and so did his men. The battle lasted one day. When it ended, Jackson stood with the Immortals. Dr. Paul has stood on the floor of the House, most of the time alone – alone – alone, ignored by his enemies, betrayed by his party, derided by the media, sometimes in danger, for twenty years.

Could you do that? Remember, he takes no lucrative, congressional pension. In fact, all these years he could have been making buckets of money as a respected physician. Would you do it? Now the conspiracy for world government is applying even more of that pressure. In words of four letters, conspiracy factotums are telling him to get out. Here in Houston, a couple of belligerent talk morons on the radio said recently that he should be confined in a straitjacket. I was thrilled to hear this proof that these yellow swine are scared.

The moral courage that Dr. No shares with Jackson is of a higher order than physical courage. It is divine. Many men blessed with the physical courage of a Horatius do not have it. Physical courage overcomes the fear of injury, pain and death. Moral courage stares in the eye of calumny, of contempt, of all the threats and insults you can think of, and spits.

This is the courage of Stonewall Paul. Stonewall is going all the way to the Convention and beyond; and we, the movement, are going with him. If you can no longer take the heat, if you are satisfied picking nits and finding fault – some of which may even be present – if you have found or concocted one or another excuse to decamp, then thank you for your service, God bless you and goodbye. Now stand aside or be run over. As you gaze at the departing rear ends of our horses, consider that you probably agree with your wife less than you agree with Dr. Paul. Why haven’t you kicked her out?

Among the perennial reasons Americans don’t vote for the best candidate is that they “don’t want to waste” their vote. They want to “vote for a winner.” Instead of voting for the candidate they know is best, they vote for the “lesser of two evils.” According to the movie, General George Patton said Americans love a winner and will not tolerate a loser.

But none of that wisdom applies here. If Texas Republicans vote for John McClunk, of course he will win. We are told that he already is the informal nominee. If the diddlers and the sissies, the waverers and wafflers who worry about such things, vote instead this time for Dr. Stonewall, there is a chance he could win his home state in a three man race.

If he doesn’t, McClunk will win the state anyway, so no harm is done. There is nothing to lose. For once in your life, enjoy the luxury of voting for exactly whom you want without “throwing your vote away.” Every vote Ron gets spreads his message. With a big vote, Dr. No would have that much more influence at the Convention. That influence could be the reason Boosh has not yet bombed Iran.

Again, it is still a three-man race. Huck and McClunk became allies and mutual admirers to get rid of Mitt, but now that mutual enemy is gone. Huck is building a career and has let it be known he would be McClunk’s running mate. They would make a perfect team. The Traitor would of course do the military; the Huck would keep telling his jokes about God. Huck would love the deal, because he has already won everything he can.

If McCain agrees, Mike would stop campaigning and release his delegates to John, but McClunk still would not have enough. Now the only candidates would be the Traitor and Dr. Paul. How would our Communist media handle that? Or will Huckabee stay in the race? That depends on his base, the “Religious Right.”

The “Religious Right” has already embarrassed itself to the point of mortification. Remember, for instance, that Pat Robertson endorsed Rudy Ghouliani, a staunch advocate of abortion, a staunch foe of the right to keep and bear arms and a transvestite, whose law firm runs interference for the Treason Highway the conspiracy for world government says it will build here in Texas. Pat says he picked the Ghoul because he happened to be New York Mayor during Nine Eleven and therefore could lead the “War on Terror” best.

A normal man would be chastened by such stupidity, but the “Religious Right” is not. Pat apparently does not have sense enough to be embarrassed. The “Religious Right” isn’t worried because next Thursday night they will be gone, raptured out of here. By their works they have been saved. Jesus called the Huck on his cell phone and said so. God calls Huck routinely.

Of course, the “Religious Right” is still saving for their children’s college educations, fifteen years from now, just in case the Huck misunderstood what Jesus said, which could happen because, remember, the Huck doesn’t really have the “theology degree” he lied about. And the “Religious Right” still buys sufficient life insurance, because – let’s face it – you never know, despite what Jesus said.

So, now here comes Dumbo Dobson. Dumbo said staunchly he could never vote for McCain. Bravo! Right on! McCain falls short on family values, don’t you know. Dumbo said there was a chance he would sit out the election. Instead, he now goes nose to nose with Pat for the Religious Right’s Stupid crown by endorsing Mike Huckabee.

A few times already in these columns we have listed the Huck’s chapter and verse. There is no need to do so again. Reread them if necessary. Huckabee is a total opportunist who makes Elmer Gantry look like a cloistered monk. Suffice it to say here what Mike says himself, that the man at the top of his campaign is Richard Haass, who just happens to be president of the Council on Foreign Relations in New York.

The CFR is the secret government of the united States. It was founded by a Marxist to destroy our national independence and dissolve our country in a totalitarian Socialist world government. World government traitor David Rockefeller ran it for years. It has controlled our federal government and many other national institutions for almost seventy years. Except for Dr. Paul, it controls every candidate for President this year. This is what Dumbo Dobson has endorsed. Is there a stupid gene that causes victims to join the “Religious Right?”

It could get worse. We are told that McClunk and the Huck have become close friends. What happens to Dumbo’s endorsement if McClunk takes the Huck aboard as running mate? Preacher to preacher, would the Huck defer to Dumbo and decline the invitation? My speculation on the contrary is that consummate opportunist Huckabee would toss Dumbo overboard in a Ghouliani minute, leaving him to swim ashore with a couple of eggs on his face.

By the way, some of you Dumboites could be offended. Maybe that means you could be cured, but I doubt it. My guess is that you will still be sucking your thumbs and nannifying when you go down the tubes. If somebody says he has a “theology degree” you will put your life in his hands. Are you out of your minds? I guess you are. You are about to be terminated. Did you know that the Archbishop of Canterbury says Muslim law already governs the U.K.? And did you know that I too have a “theology degree?” Yes, it’s the same one the Huck has. Send me your money.

Now let me tell you something that could freeze your blood. Some Republicruds are talking about “saving” the Party from McCain. At the last minute, maybe even at the national convention, a mystery consensus candidate will break the brokering. Enter from stage extreme left, socialist fraud, Council on Foreign Relations member, the man who violated his own Contract With America, and a criminal womanizer who, like McClunk, abandoned his sick wife, Newt Gingrich. To see something you probably don’t know about Newt, get my book, Not Holier Than Thou.

Right now, he is a cloud no bigger than a man’s hand, but the weathermakers could engorge him as they did McClunk. On the other hand, notice that so-called “conservative talk radio,” fronting as always for the Republicrud Party, is subtly starting to push Traitor John, starting to excuse and explain him away. Of course, Levin has the farthest to go, because he went farthest out on the limb against him. Remember that when the Irate One comes around.



Finally, because this piece has been so frightening, let’s close with reassurance. Some misogynists who fear metastasizing feminization are worried about the possibility that a woman could be president. The fear arises from an unfortunate misunderstanding, a curious internet legend, which says that Hillary Clinton is a woman. I have not been able to find out who launched it, but let me reassure you and at the same time apologize to Hillary on behalf of those confused misogynists for what I have no doubt she rightly considers a calculated insult.

Hillary Clinton of course is not a woman. Again, she is a Womanoid. A Womanoid is a creature that has some of the superficial attributes of womanhood – a somewhat more prominent forecastle and afterdeck – but it is not a woman. Observe a real woman. It is easy to do. They are everywhere. And it doesn’t matter what their politics are.



A real woman doesn’t need to ask herself whether what she is doing is feminine, womanly. She does it, automatically, doesn’t need to think about it, and because she does it, because she is a real woman, it is feminine and womanly. Not so Hillary. When it comes time to be a woman, she has to think about it. Indeed, her advisers have to tell her what to do, when to cry, when to talk about baking cookies, what to say. She is playing a part. Again, a real woman doesn’t need to do that. No one needs to tell her what to do.

So relax. Whatever happens, we won’t get a woman president.

John McCain funded by Soros since 2001
Candidate's Reform Institute also accepted funds from Teresa Kerry

As Sen. John McCain assumes the GOP front-runner mantle, his long-standing, but little-noticed association with left-wing donors such as George Soros and Teresa Heinz Kerry is receiving new attention among his Republican critics.

In 2001, McCain founded the Alexandria, Va.-based Reform Institute as a vehicle to receive funding from George Soros' Open Society Institute and Teresa Heinz Kerry's Tides Foundation and several other prominent non-profit organizations.

McCain used the institute to promote his political agenda and provide compensation to key campaign operatives between elections.

In 2006, the Arizona senator was forced to sever his formal ties with the Reform Institute after a controversial $200,000 contribution from Cablevision came to light. McCain solicited the donation for the Reform Institute using his membership on the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. In a letter to the Federal Communications Commission, he supported Cablevision's push to introduce the more profitable al la carte pricing, rather than packages of TV programming.

Yet, the Reform Institute still employs the McCain campaign's Hispanic outreach director, Juan Hernandez, as a senior fellow of its Comprehensive Immigration Reform Initiative.

As WND reported, Hernandez serves as a non-paid volunteer for the McCain campaign. A dual Mexican-U.S. citizen, he was a member of former President Vicente Fox's cabinet, representing an estimate 24 million Mexicans living abroad. Hernandez, with a "Mexico first" message, has argued aggressively against building a fence on the Mexican border, insisting the frontier needed to remain wide open so illegal immigrants could easily enter the U.S.

The July 6, 2001, homepage of the Reform Institute archived on the Internet lists founder McCain as chairman of the group's advisory committee.

Prominent senior officials on the McCain 2008 presidential campaign staff found generously paid positions at the Reform Institute following the senator's unsuccessful run for the White House in 2000.

Rick Davis, McCain's current campaign manager, was paid $110,000 a year by the Reform Institute for a consulting position, according to the group's 2003 Form 990 filing with the IRS.

In 2004, Davis advanced to the position of Reform Institute president, with an annual salary of $120,000, according to the group's 2004 Form 990.

In 2005, Davis remained president, but his salary dropped back to $45,000 a year, with a time commitment of five hours per week, according the 2005 Form 990.

Carla Eudy, a senior advisor on McCain's 2008 presidential campaign who until recently headed fundraising, was paid $177,885 in 2005 to serve as the Reform Institute's secretary-treasurer.

Other McCain presidential campaign staffers who have found employment at the Reform Institute include Trevor Potter, McCain's 2000 legal counsel, and Crystal Benton, the senator's former press secretary, who served as institute's communications director in 2005 for an annual salary of $52,083.

The Reform Institute regularly has supported McCain in various legislative efforts, including on campaign finance reform, global warming and "comprehensive immigration reform," all efforts widely opposed by many in the party's conservative base.

Arianna Huffington, syndicated columnist and creator of the HuffingtonPost.com, has served on the Reform Institute's advisory committee since the group's inception.

According to FrontPage Magazine, Teresa Heinz Kerry has provided more than $4 million to the Tides Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by anti-war activist Drummond Pike in 1976 with a history of funding causes such as abortion, homosexual-rights activism and open borders.

Financial contributors while McCain was chairman of the Reform Institute also have included the Educational Foundation of America, a group that supports abortion and opposes drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Reserve.

The Soros-Kerry funding connection with McCain was first exposed by Ed Morrissey at the Captains Quarters blog in 2005.

Subsequently, David Horowitz's DiscoverTheNetworks.org website and Michelle Malkin's blog gave renewed attention to the Reform Institute's funding ties.

This is a very significant development in the battle to find out why our governments are spraying chemicals into our atmosphere, however it is only the tip of the iceberg. As far as researchers have been able to conclude, chemical spraying by our governments have been in full operation since mid-to-late 1990’s (possibly earlier). Right now we can only speculate as to what type of chemicals are used in these operations, however one thing is certain, if we saw a car driving down the road, spewing out a plume of smoke the way these planes are doing we would be very concerned.

Considering that half the species in the world could be wiped out due to global warming, the least we could do is to demand that our governments explain what it is that they are spraying us with, specially if military heads are claiming “that the substances used are not harmful”. As we know, when the militaries of the world say we have nothing to be concerned about then we have everything to be concerned about. Keep in mind that chemtrails have been categorized as an “exotic weapons systems” by the 107th CONGRESS of the United States in House Bill H. R. 2977.

Arizona Seeing Signs of Flight by Immigrants

PHOENIX — The signs of flight among Latino immigrants here are multiple: Families moving out of apartment complexes, schools reporting enrollment drops, business owners complaining about fewer clients.

While it is too early to know for certain, a consensus is developing among economists, business people and immigration groups that the weakening economy coupled with recent curbs on illegal immigration are steering Hispanic immigrants out of the state.

The Arizona economy, heavily dependent on growth and a Latino work force, has been slowing for months. Meanwhile, the state has enacted one of the country’s toughest laws to punish employers who hire illegal immigrants, and the county sheriff here in Phoenix has been enforcing federal immigration laws by rounding up people living here illegally.

“It is very difficult to separate the economic reality in Arizona from the effects of the laws because the economy is tanking and construction is drying up,” said Frank Pierson, lead organizer of the Arizona Interfaith Network, which advocates for immigrants’ rights and other causes. But the combination of factors creates “ a disincentive to stay in the state.”

State Representative Russell K. Pearce, a Republican from Mesa and leading advocate of the crackdown on illegal immigration, takes reports of unauthorized workers leaving as a sign of success. An estimated one in 10 workers in Arizona are Hispanic immigrants, both legal and illegal, twice the national average.

“The desired effect was, we don’t have the red carpet out for illegal aliens,” Mr. Pearce said, adding that while “most of these are good people” they are a “tremendous burden” on public services.

On Monday, state lawmakers, concerned about shortages of workers and the failed revamping of immigration law in Congress, which was pushed by Senator John McCain of Arizona, pledged action.

Bills were announced that would create a state-run temporary worker program, though it would need Congressional authorization. And last week Gov. Janet Napolitano, a Democrat, offered to help the United States Labor Department rewrite regulations designed to streamline visas for agricultural workers, who growers say are increasingly hard to find.

While data for the last month or so are not available, there were already signs of migration out of Arizona at the end of last year. In the fourth quarter of 2007 the apartment-vacancy rate in metropolitan Phoenix rose to 11.2 percent from 9 percent in the same quarter of 2006, with much higher rates of 15 percent or more in heavily Latino neighborhoods.

“You have many people moving out, but they are not all illegal,” said Terry Feinberg, president of the Arizona Multihousing Alliance, a trade group for the apartment and rental housing industry. “A lot of people moving are citizens, or legal, but because someone in their family or social network is not, and they are having a hard time keeping or finding a job, they all move.”

Elizabeth Leon, a legal immigrant and day care worker, said the families of two of her charges abruptly left, forcing the state to take custody of the children. Ms. Leon’s brother, a construction worker who is not authorized to be in the country, plans to leave, unable to find steady work; families at the neighborhood school have pulled children out, Ms. Leon said, fearful of sheriff’s deputies.

“It is like a panic here,” she said. “This is all having an effect on the community, mostly emotional.”

Juan Jose Araujo, 44, is here legally. His wife, however, is not and is pressing for the family to return to Mexico because of the difficulty in finding a job and what the family considers a growing anti-immigrant climate.

Although prosecutors in the state do not plan to begin enforcing the sanctions against employers until next month, several employers have reportedly already dismissed workers whose legal authorization to work could not be proved, as required by the law.

“We don’t have family or anything in Mexico,” said Mr. Araujo, who has lived in the United States for 24 years. “I wouldn’t have anywhere to go there, but we have to consider it.”

Property managers report that families have uprooted overnight, with little or no notice. Carlos Flores Vizcarra, the Mexican consul general in Phoenix, said while he could not tie the phenomenon to a single factor, the consulate had experienced an “unusual” five-fold increase in parents applying for Mexican birth certificates for their children and other documents that often are a prelude to moving.

Several school districts in heavily Latino areas have reported sudden drops in enrollment. Official explanations are elusive because school officials have not been able to interview families about why they left, but, anecdotally, people point to the sour economy and the immigration crackdown among other factors.

The Cartwright Elementary School District in west Phoenix, for instance, reported a loss of 525 students this school year (dropping the enrollment to 19,845), while in previous years enrollment had grown or remained stable among its 23 schools. Meri Simmons, a spokeswoman for the district, said word of mouth suggested that the economy and sanctions on employers played a role.

“We know we have a lot of empty houses,” Ms. Simmons said.

Jobs in the construction industry, a major employer of immigrants, are growing scarce, declining 8.6 percent in December compared with the previous year.

Juan Leon, a construction subcontractor and the husband of Elizabeth Leon, the day care worker, said illegal immigrants had made it harder for legal residents like him to find work. Companies that employ them can bid much lower on projects than he can because they pay workers much less, Mr. Leon said.

“I hate to see families torn apart,” he said of the current flight, “but there is no money to be made sometimes because some contractors who employ illegal workers can do the job dirt cheap.”

Dawn McLaren, an economist at Arizona State University in Tempe who studies the state’s economic and migration trends, said it was likely that lack of work is forcing people to move, probably to nearby states. But Ms. McLaren also theorized that the slowing economy had caused a reduction in the flow of new immigrants over the border.

Analyzing data back to the early 1990s, she said, a drop in Border Patrol arrests — they have been steadily declining the last couple of years — typically preceded an economic downturn or slowing.

“It’s a highly networked community,” she said of border crossers. “It costs a lot to get here, and they generally have a job lined up here. People say, ‘We need people on the crew.’ And they tell friends and relatives to come over.”

A persistent decline in the immigrant population could damage the overall Arizona economy, Ms. McLaren said. A study by the Pew Hispanic Center released in January said illegal workers made up close to 11 percent of the state’s work force of 2.9 million people in 2006, double the national estimate.

“What it looks like now is that a little bump in the economic road, especially with the sanctions law, is looking like it might last a year or more,” she said.

Even as the economy slows and people leave, the matter of the state’s sanctions on employers is not settled.

The legal fight over the law, which a federal judge upheld Thursday, is headed for the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. The law punishes employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants by suspending their business license for 10 days on the first offense and revoking it for a second infraction.

Opponents call it an unconstitutional intrusion by the state on federal immigration authority but the federal judge, Neil V. Wake, disagreed.

At the same time, signatures are being gathered for two ballot initiatives, one that would toughen the law and another meant to soften it. If both end up on the November ballot, the one with the most votes would prevail.

Ms. McLaren, the economist, said that in the end history showed it was difficult to stop illegal immigration so long as jobs paid better in the United States than at home. An economic rebound would probably draw people back here, no matter the laws.

“They will find a way to adjust,” she said.

The EU is no longer an ideological project; it’s a racket: a mechanism for redistributing money to the people who work for it. If that sounds harsh, ask yourself when you last met a Euro-enthusiast who was not being indirectly paid by Brussels.

This week, David Miliband stood at the Dispatch Box and listed the NGOs backing the Lisbon Treaty (nee European Constitution): “The NSPCC pledged its support, as have One World Action, Action Aid and Oxfam. Environmental organisations support the treaty provisions on sustainable development and even the commission of bishops supports the treaty. This is a coalition not of ideology, but integrity”.

Integrity, eh? I’ve done a little digging around, and it turns out that every one of these organisations gets money from Brussels.

The ‘commission of bishops’ to which the Foreign Secretary refers, for example, turns out to be something called the ‘Commission

of the Bishops Conferences of the European Community’. It’s not an ecclesiastical organisation that just happens to be pro-integration; it’s a creature of the European Commission, wholly dependent on the EU for its funding and existence.

There was a time when the European project was supported by idealists who genuinely believed that they were building a better future. Not any more. The 2005 ‘No’ votes in France and the Netherlands were the EU’s equivalent of the 1968 Prague Spring. They killed off the idea that, given time, voters might come round to the ruling doctrine, and thereby make possible a restoration of democracy.

As in the 1970s Cold War Comecon states, the EU is now run, not by true believers, but by an apparat of officials whose livelihoods depend on the system - an apparat made up of NGOs, civil servants and local councils as well as Eurocrats. There’s too much at stake for them to give up easily.

Iran Launches Own Investment Banks

LONDON, Feb 11 (Reuters) - Iran will launch its first investment banks next month as part of efforts to speed up privatisation and dodge U.S. restrictions on its banking sector, the Deputy Finance Minister told the Financial Times on Monday.

Heidari Kord Zangeneh said in an interview the three banks will help the Islamic Republic to sell all public companies by 2015, including steel, banking and telecoms operations.

"We are going to activate our private sector and our private banks... in order to fight against these (U.S.) sanctions," Kord Zangeneh said, referring to the United Nations-imposed sanctions for Iran's refusal to suspend nuclear activities which the West fears are aimed at making atom bombs.

"This is the first time we have had investment banks and they will do what other investment banks all over the world do. They will take share subscriptions and act as an intermediary between the privatisation organisation and the stock exchange," he added. Two sets of U.N. sanctions since December 2006 combined with U.S. commercial pressure on European banks to cut business with Iran have led some -- including HSBC, Deustche Bank, UBS and Credit Suisse -- to close dollar transactions with Iran or cut ties altogether. The three new investment banks -- Amin, Novin and Pasargad -- will be run by consortia that include privately owned investment companies, some of which are affiliated to private banks.

'A new phase in the arms race is unfolding' says Putin

Vladimir Putin has used one of the last major speeches of his presidency to deliver a defiant message to the West, accusing it of unleashing a new arms race that left Moscow no choice but to retaliate in kind. Less than a month before presidential elections that his hand-picked successor is almost certain to win, the speech removed any lingering doubts that Russian foreign policy might become less aggressive after Mr Putin steps down.


"It's clear that a new arms race is unfolding in the world," said Mr Putin, one that Russia did not start. And he vowed that Russia would respond to the threats by developing newer and more modern weapons that were as good as if not better than those possessed by Western countries. "We are being forced into retaliating ... Russia has and always will have the answers to these challenges," he said.

The speech in which he also condemned Nato expansion came as defence chiefs of the 26-nation alliance, increasingly alarmed by Russia's flexing of its military muscles, met in Vilnius, the Lithuanian capital, and urged Moscow to tone down its rhetoric.

Russian bomber patrols have recently been made over the Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic oceans and approached close to the borders of Nato airspace. Two Russian Tupolev-95 aircraft strayed south from their routine patrol pattern off the Norwegian coast and headed towards Scotland last September.

In the most recent incident, two long-range "Blackjack" bombers flew to the Bay of Biscay off France and Spain to test-launch missiles. The Russians have also hinted they want to re-establish a naval presence in the Mediterranean, probably using Syrian ports. The strategy is designed to heighten the visibility of Russia's military might but the sabre-rattling has alarmed Western countries and fuelled talk of a new Cold War.

Mr Putin went into overdrive yesterday, painting Russia as the victim of Western aggression and expansion, and promised a Russian response. He said Western countries spent far more on defence than Russia, and also returned to a theme he has raised many times before – that of Nato enlargement towards Russian borders. "We pulled out of bases in Cuba and Vietnam," he said. "And what did we get? New American bases in Bulgaria and Romania."

He also complained about US plans to build elements of a missile defence system in Poland and the Czech Republic. "They try to persuade us that all these actions are not aimed against Russia," he said, "but they have no constructive answers to our well-founded concerns."

Russia has previously threatened to deploy nuclear missiles in its Baltic exclave of Kaliningrad if the US goes ahead with its plans. Russia's annual defence spending has quadrupled since Mr Putin came to power and the Kremlin has announced a £100bn programme to modernise ageing military hardware.

Symbolically ominous changes are under way too: Russia recently announced that vast parades in Red Square to showcase the nation's military strength are to be revived this year for the first time since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Mr Putin also accused unnamed foreign countries of cynically trying to gain unfair access to Russia's natural resources. "Many conflicts, foreign policy acts and diplomatic démarches smell of oil and gas," he said. "This is the context in which we understand the growing interest towards Russia." He said the sovereignty of certain countries had been completely destroyed under slogans of freedom and democracy.

The speech was broadcast live on Russian television. Mr Putin was addressing the State Council, an influential gathering of the country's elite, including Dmitry Medvedev, the man virtually guaranteed to be Russia's next president. Also present was the Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, Russia's richest man, attending in his capacity as governor of Russia's Chukotka region.

Mr Putin has consistently portrayed Western attempts to foster democracy in Russia as nefarious intentions. Last month, he told the security services to beware of foreign meddling in the upcoming presidential elections, and earlier this week the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe announced it would not monitor the election because of an unco-operative attitude from Russian officials.

Yesterday's bellicose remarks came at the end of a speech devoted to outlining achievements during his eight years in office and setting out a blueprint of Russia's development to 2020. He rattled off economic and social achievements over

the past eight years, boasting that Russians were now immeasurably better off than eight years ago, and laid out a development strategy to improve incomes, life expectancy, and quality of life for Russians by 2020.

Bizarrely, Mr Putin made no reference in his speech to the fact that the presidency will soon be changing hands, and spoke repeatedly of what "we" need to do.

Doctors are unwittingly fuelling the growing number of Britons hooked on prescription drugs by giving patients dangerously high doses of medicines that can prove highly addictive, a parliamentary inquiry has concluded.

MPs say that 'mis-prescribing' of drugs such as painkillers, sleeping tablets and anti-anxiety pills by some doctors is 'leading to addiction and dependence'.

GPs ignore official advice that patients should take powerful benzodiazepine tranquillisers for no more than four weeks by handing out repeat prescriptions without even seeing them in their surgery, says an all-party parliamentary group on drug misuse. The Home Office blames the mis-use benzodiazepines for causing 17,000 deaths since their introduction in the Sixties.

'It was extremely concerning for the inquiry to receive so many testimonials of people still being negligently prescribed these drugs by their GP,' say the MPs. 'The guidelines now in place recommend that benzodiazepines are not taken continuously for longer than four weeks, but there were many cases of GPs continuing to prescribe the drug for a lot longer - sometimes even allowing repeat prescriptions without having the patient in for a consultation.'

News of the inquiry's report follows last week's revelation that 28-year-old Hollywood actor Heath Ledger died as the result of 'acute intoxication' caused by an accidental overdose of anti-anxiety medication and prescription painkillers. Health experts are warning that prescription drug abuse is now widespread on both sides of the Atlantic.

Dr Brian Iddon, the Labour MP and former chemist who chairs the group, told The Observer: 'Some GPs are addicting people by giving them repeat prescriptions without checking to see how long they've been on the drugs in the first place. They are not stopping patients from getting any more of them after the set amount of time.'

The MPs' investigation into prescription and over-the-counter drugs also claims that family doctors are contributing to growing problems associated with these substances by not taking seriously enough requests for help from addicts, and by mismanaging patients with chronic pain.

The Jewification Of America

Dear Friends – THE JEWISH QUESTION has been debated ever since England’s “Jew Bill of 1753,” which dealt with the ability of Jews to integrate within Western Europe. Since that time, Karl Marx, Theodore Herzl, and even John Paul Sartre, have written on the “Jewish Question,” expanding the question into political, religious, and even, “poetic” realms.

~ But on a grass roots level, both past and present, the “Jewish Question” as discussed in taverns, coffee houses, and restaurants, is about the perception people have of Jews existing as a peripheral and disloyal group that is internally cohesive and conspiratory.

~ I would like to tell you what I mean by the term, Jewification. Since the Jews have no culture or ideology of their own, being a people of the Diaspora, and most of them being secular Jews, the term jewification has to do rather with the “agenda” of the Jews. And an agenda they have indeed!

~ To jewify a nation’s culture, (for a nation’s culture does not exist in a vacuum but always has an ideology attached to and informing it), is to have imposed on that culture a “Jewish way of looking at things.”

~ Do we not see this “Jewish way of looking at things” through the Mass Media funneling down into the general culture? How many times have you heard the expression, “Oy Vey!” as if this is a pleasant expression and contributes to the culture of our society? Or how many times did a fellow worker come up to you and ask, “Would you like to hear a good Jewish joke?” And it’s all so lighthearted and so enriching is it not? And then we turn on Seinfeld at night and the skinny Jew boy makes us laugh and feel so good about being allowed entry into the Jewish way of looking at things.

~ Have you seen the cover of this week’s Newsweek? The hideous looking Jewish face of Alan Greenspan who is laughing all the way to his and his Rothschild friends’ privately-owned Federal Reserve Bank which is charging interest on loans of printed money to us Americans up the gazoo, is leering at us from this red fluorescent cover of the Jewish-owned Newsweek. It almost prompts an American, or better yet, a Christian, to fling his arms up in the air, and then with the right hand making a projected fist, to say, “Enough is enough already of these Jews!”

~ The Jewification of America began almost as soon as the Jews got off the boat in America in the late 1800s. Yes, the Jews came over because good ‘ol Christian America opened its arms to the persecuted and “innocent” Jews fleeing the pogroms of Russia! “Oh we are so persecuted everywhere we go!” say the Jews. But did any of us ever ask just why the Jews are “so persecuted everywhere they go?” Is it perhaps that the host nations in which they were once welcomed also had plenty of reasons to proclaim, “Enough is enough already of these Jews?”

~ In Henry Ford’s, The International Jew, written in the 1920’s, he outlines the beginnings of the Anti Christian Jews’ attempts to jewify America by first eradicating Christianity from public life. He writes, “The Jews’ determination to wipe out of public life every sign of the predominant Christian character of the United States, is the only active form of religious intolerance in our nation today.”

~ You see, before the Jews could impose their way of looking at things and how we should act thereby, they first had to get the Christian way of looking at things out of the way. And so they began their systematic process of wiping out Christianity from our nation’s culture by intimidating and bribing judges to rule that praying and reading the Bible in our schools, (made up of mostly Christian folk), is “Unconstitutional.”

~ Next came the Jews’ role in bringing America into World War I. Why did Woodrow Wilson, whose friend was the Zionist and his own Supreme Court appointment, Louis Brandeis, suddenly come out in favour of the War in 1916? It was because the Zionist Jews supported by the Rothschilds, sent Chaim Weitzman to Great Britain to strike a deal with Prime Minister Lloyd George.

~ The deal, as recounted by the former Zionist Benjamin Friedman turned Roman Catholic, was the following: Germany had won the war by 1914. Then Germany invited France and Britain to the peace table and said, “Okay, we’ve won, but there will be no losers. Let’s just go back to how things were before.” Germany did this because before the War broke out they had made arrangements with the Ottomans to develop oil fields for them because of their advanced technology. (Are you getting to see the picture here?)

~ So what happens next, the Rothschilds send their pawn, Chaim Weitzman, (probably one of the ugliest men you will ever look at), to Lloyd George and the British parliament with these words, “You don’t have to lose the war. We will bring America into the War through our contacts with Woodrow Wilson. But you’ve got to promise to give us Palestine.” (They did not mention anything about their designs on the oil fields of the Ottoman Empire or did they?). Anyways, from that conversation, the Balfour Declaration of 1917 appeared.

~ Now here’s what happened in America. Woodrow Wilson had a lot of Jews advising him. Wilson was enamored of the Jews, especially when they “helped him out” now and again. More “help” was on its way. The Jews got wind that Woodrow had an illicit affair with a fellow Professor’s wife while teaching at Yale.

~ So they send one of their investment bank boys to him with these words, “Your former mistress is having qualms of conscience about the whole unseemly affair. She would like $40,000 to stop her conscience from bothering her.” After Woodrow gulps and the color of his face changes to a deep reddish hue, the Jew chimes in, “We have arranged to loan you the $40,000 as a contribution to your election campaign.” And no sooner does the Jew make that promise or rather, “blackmail” poor Woodrow, that all of a sudden, good ‘ol Woodrow wants America to enter the War! (And Louis Brandeis, the Zionist Jew, gets appointed to the Supreme Court not too long afterwards.)

~ Time does not permit me to go into the Jews’ role in bringing America into World War II. That will be for another article. But what we are seeing now as a consequence of the Jewish efforts to eradicate the “Christian way of looking at things,” is the “Jewish way of looking at things” in full force! How so?

~ First of all, “the Jewish way of looking at things,” begins with their own unspoken approach to life, which is, their obsession with self-preservation. The Jew is a materialist with no aspirations for a life after death. All of their hopes and dreams are invested in the here-and-now. This, coupled with a half conscious guilt for their crimes and misdemeanors against the offended “Goyim”, gives rise to their obsession for self-preservation.

~ The Jews want nothing more than a weakened, impotent culture to exist in. This works to their benefit so that they can take over a society of jaded, passive citizens. Will homosexuality and lesbianism weaken that culture? You better believe it, since the family unit, (which the Jew lives and dies for), is the central component of a strong nation and healthy culture. That’s why you have Jews promoting deviant sexual activity in their synagogues by their token Gay rabbis; in their Newsweeks; in their TV shows; in their New York Times; and in their Hollywood.

~ Will multi-culturism weaken a nation’s culture? You better believe it. For multi-culturism served up, “Jewish Style,” means, multi-religionism. “Diversity Is Our Strength!” reads the slogan penned by the Jewish Madison Avenue boys. But this slogan flys in the face of the saying of one of their own who exhorted, “United we stand, divided we fall.” We all know that a unified idea confers strength, but a plethora of ideas only creates confusion and impotence. Thus we have seen the Jews favouring, promoting, pushing, writing, lobbying for all of the Open Immigration bills, beginning with the Immigration Law of 1965 which opened the flood gates of all kinds of multi-cultural peoples with their multi-religious views.

~ Need I go on and on? We all know that America’s foreign policy is based on the Zionist Dream that every Jew should have a place to escape to — I mean, to live in perfect Jewish freedom! But there ain’t too many of dem Jews here in America who want to live that Zionist Dream – but rather to have our tax money in the billions every single year sent over to Zion for carnage and mutilation of enemy childrens’ faces by fierce hot flaming US made bombs, in order that their great grandchildren may have a place to flee to.

~ One begins to wonder if the Jews will have to wait that long for the flight of their darling little grandchildren to Zion. I have already seen on the street the flinging arms of the offended “Goy” raised in frustration. I think it is only a matter of time before those flinging arms of the offended “Goy” turn into a defiant fist.

London Bombings - To Save Bush/Blair/Queen?

We might get some early insight into the violence in London by considering some timeline items.

As of July, 2005, the Chicago Special Federal Prosecutor, Patrick Fitzgerald, reportedly had witnesses who already testified before the Special Federal Grand Jury in the outing of a deep cover CIA operative, Valerie Plame, wife of former U.S. Ambassador Joseph C. Wilson 4th, who had publicly criticized George W. Bush for using false data as to Saddam supposedly using uranium, yellow cake it is called, from Niger.

Two or more grand jury witnesses ostensibly testified that George W. Bush himself was aware that Bush White House chief honcho, Karl Rove, was reportedly going to leak data as to Valerie Plame, as a reprisal against her husband for publicly panning Bush.

The federal grand jury already had subpoenas reportedly served and/or testimony received, from and/or about Jeff Gannon, male prostitute that visited some 200 times, on one-day passes, at Bush's White House apartment, according to U.S. Secret Service records. Those documents, however, do not reflect whether Gannon departed the White House after one day each trip made.

Some witnesses assert that Gannon received the data as to Valerie Plame directly from George W. Bush himself and that reputed journalist Gannon ostensibly conveyed it to
Time Magazine reporter Mathew Cooper, who agrees to now testify after being threatened with contempt of court, and convey the same reportedly to New York Times reporter Judith Miller now jailed for refusing to testify before the Special Federal Grand Jury.

Fitzgerald also subpoenaed the records of transmissions from Air Force One, Bush's airplane. Unless the subpoena is disobeyed, the resultant items might seem to support other testimony that George W. Bush himself is subject to prosecution for a Federal Criminal Offense in blowing the "cover" of Valerie Plame.

A note about espionage protocol. Covert espionage operatives are usually informed ahead of time of an upcoming violent event, such as a high-level bombing or political assassination, by a strange item in the mass media. A few examples.

Just prior to the public execution of President John F. Kennedy while traveling in an open car, Time Magazine ran a ghastly drawing on its cover showing JFK looking like a dead man, a ghost, sitting in his rocking chair because of his long ailing back.

Similarly, Time Magazine, just prior to the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy, ran a cover story depicting Bobby as a foolish child in a polka dot baby's outfit.

The day before the attempted assassination of newly inauguated President Ronald Reagan, in 1981, was a boxed in item in many mass media newspapers. It stated that just released data shows that a member of British royalty, a prominent militaristic Tory, secretly traveled across the U.S. in 1968, to elicit American elite aid to overthrow the British Labour Government in London.

Covert intelligence dirty tricksters are trained to watch for these tip-offs of upcoming bloodshed events.

So it should come as no surprise that on July 4, 2005, the Queen's news trumpet, the Chicago Tribune, published a possible upcoming mass murder tip-off, of the then upcoming London bombings of July 7, 2005. (According to ownership disclosures required by postal regulations, each newspaper must publish once a year, often way back behind the grocery page, details of the news outlets ownership. The top British royals are major owners of Tribune Company, parent firm of a presslord empire that includes the Chicago Tribune. This media empire gets their pulp and other newsprint from Canadian Jesuit facilities, by way of a perpetual contract originally signed by the King of England in the 19th Century.)

The lengthy Chicago Tribune story was headlined "The queen's eyes in Chicago" July 4, 2005. (We shall attempt to attach herewith a copy.) Notice this item referring to a date 1901:

"1901. After going bankrupt building a Chicago elevated transit line, Charles Yerkes WENT TO ENGLAND AND BUILT THE FIRST SUBSURFACE TRANSIT LINE IN LONDON THAT EVOLVED INTO THE CURRENT UNDERGROUND TRAIN SYSTEM." (Emphasis added.)

To farflung covert dirty tricksters was this the tip-off of upcoming events required by espionage procedures? Advance warning of the London bombings?

Prior to September11, 2001, namely on Saturday, August 18, 2001, the New York Times published a strange story about mysterious squatters secretly living on the 91st floor of one of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. Following 9-11, neither the New York Times nor any other media outlet mentioned this strange prior story. We later attached an actual copy from the New York Times archives to one of our stories in this series, Overthrow of the American Republic.

Notice what was pending at the time public attention was diverted by the London bombings including of their very deep in the ground subway:

(1) An unofficial , that is Ad Hoc Committe of the U.S. House of Representatives was quietly considering Resolutions of Impeachment against the occupant and resident of the White House, George W. Bush. Includrd were charges of treason for starting a war without vote of Congress. and on knowingly false and fraudulent data. Including the Bush White House being blackmailed out of U.S. Military secrets by his homosexual activities reportedly with Jeff Gannon and also the once longtime Mayor of Knoxville, Tennessee, Victor Ashe, who left his Knoxville post and was by Bush shipped out of the U.S. to be the Ambassador to Poland, and thus unavailable for questioning by Congressmen. This part of the homosexual media and poilitical underground has been used by the Red Chinese Secret Police to blackmail U.S. weapons secrets out of the Bush White House. The Ad Hoc Impeachment Resoloution Committee is apparently bi-partisan composed of 40 Democrats and 30 Republicans.

Israeli Intelligence, The Mossad, apparently told the London police authorities in advance of the London bombings what might happen. Because a great number of London security police were in Scotland to protect Bush and Blair at G-8 Super Bankers Conference, only a skeleton police force was available in London. So The Mossad warning was not considered. To clean up possible mention of the bombings being a high-level inside job of a portion of the Anglo-American Aristocracy to protect Bush/Bair/Queen, the London authorities reversed the apparent actual facts and said that the London police informed The Mossad ahead of time.

The Impeachment of Bush Resolutions were reportedly set to be revealed on July 11, 2005.
(2.) Other accusations were quietly pending against Queen of England stooge and scapegoat Tony Blair at the time of the London bombings.

Some of our websites from as far back as 2000, have posted the document showing that the Bushies have a joint account with Queen Elizabeth 2nd amounting to One Hundred Billion Dollars, in the Queen's private bank, Coutts Bank London, as shown, arranged by the secret code of Alan Greenspan, head of the Federal Reserve. Saddam retains (whether actually in U.S. custody or a double in custody or Saddam kept in some foreign embassy); a large financial interest in the Bushie-Queen joint account.

According to the December 19, 2001 issue of London Financial Times, the Queen ordered the head of her private bank to become a part of the Bushie worldwide enterprise, Carlyle Group.

Shortly after the 9-11 high-level inside job, knocking down the Twin Towers with internal explosives, we posted a story that Israeli intelligence, The Mossad, wanted to inform the Bush White House and the Bush Justice Department of the upcoming violence in Lower Manhattan. Upon being rebuffed, the Israelis used the French CIA to so inform Bush and his Justice Department which likewise refused to consider the prior warning.

Stories published in Europe and mostly censored by the U.S. monopoly press, detailed how the Spanish Secret Political Police apparently orchestrated the March, 2005, bombings of trains in Madrid that killed hundreds. Spain's spy agency sought to blame it on Basque and other extremists. Actually it was done on behalf of the re-emerging crowned heads of Europe, once called the Hapsburgs, including Spain King Juan Carlos.

The Spanish King, late in 2004, met with Bush at Bush's ranch along with Vicente Fox, President of Mexico. Bush secretly agreed to surrender to Mexico's sovereignty parts of southern California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. Such a secret arrangement is not only violative of the U.S. Constitution but reverses centures of worldwide history. Hoping to survive, a nation's leader does not seek to give away territory taken over from a previous war. The parts of U.S. states were won by the U.S. as a result of the U.S.-Mexico War of 1849. George W. Bush commits treason to reverse the same.

Some in the United Kingdom are trying to start a groundswell, that Moslems resident in England, be rounded up and thrown out of the country at once. This apparently a result of local media starting a vicious blame campaign without considering the London bombings being a high-level dirty bloody trick of a portion of the Anglo-American Aristocracy.

As an indication of a high-level plot, not involving Moslems except possibly as patsies and dupes, the United Kingdom authorities, about a hour before the London bombings, cut off most if not all cell phone traffic. Also arbitrarily cut-off was a great deal of U.K. out-going internet traffic. As part of the BIG LIE, are the U.K. authorities, whitewashing Bush/Blair?Queen, going to deny this as well?

QUESTIONS:
Can George W. Bush, quilty of treason and other offenses against the American people and the U.S. Constitution, be as a practical matter, subject to Impeachment in the midst of the London bombings furor?

Will the commonfolk in England be understanding of possible expected details of a high-level inside job, orchestrated by the Secret Political Police for and on behalf of the British Monarchy?

Can the U.S. and the U.K. avoid martial law hysteria whipped up by the Aristocracy to cancel the U.S. Constitution and the unwritten British "Constitution"?

Do you have any ideas to aid and assist independent bloggers, condemned by the Establishment as being merely "Junkyard Dogs", for fighting off the BIG LIE as to the true nature of the London bombings?

U.S. sees Russia, China and OPEC financial threat

The United States is worried that Russia, China and OPEC oil-producing countries could use their growing financial clout to advance political goals, the top U.S. spy chief told Congress on Tuesday.

Such economic matters joined terrorism, nuclear proliferation and computer-network vulnerabilities as top U.S. security threats described by National Director of Intelligence Michael McConnell in an annual assessment.

McConnell said U.S. intelligence agencies had "concerns about the financial capabilities of Russia, China and OPEC countries and the potential use of their market access to exert financial leverage to political ends."

Russia, bolstered in part by oil revenues, was positioning itself to control an energy supply and transportation network from Europe to East Asia, and the Russian military had begun to reverse a long decline, he told the Senate Intelligence Committee.

China has pursued a policy of global engagement out of a desire to expand its growing economy and obtain access markets, resources, technology and expertise, McConnell said.

It seeks a constructive relationship with the United States and other countries, but as its influence grows "Beijing probably will increasingly expect its interests to be respected by other countries," he said.

Russia and China have long been able to target U.S. computer systems to collect intelligence, he said. "The worrisome part is, today, they also could target information infrastructure systems for degradation or destruction."

In the energy sector, a weak U.S. dollar had prompted some oil suppliers, including Iran, Syria and Libya, to ask for payment in other currencies, or to delink their currencies from the dollar, McConnell said. "Continued concerns about dollar depreciation could tempt other producers to follow suit."


TERRORISM THREAT

McConnell and other U.S. security officials told the committee that the global threat of terrorism remained.

Al Qaeda had suffered some setbacks and its international reputation was diminishing, they said.

But its affiliate in North Africa was gaining strength and the global network, with its leadership reconstituted in remote tribal areas, has begun to present an internal threat to Pakistan. Pakistan's military still lacks the ability to counter an insurgency, officials said.

In Iraq, violence had declined and al Qaeda in Iraq had been weakened, but the capabilities of Iraq's security forces remained limited while sectarian distrust was still high, McConnell said.

Among other top worries, Iran still had the potential to develop nuclear weapons, despite stopping work on nuclear warhead design, he said. A finding by U.S. intelligence agencies last year that Iran had suspended design activities led conservative critics to charge the report undermined U.S. efforts to pressure Iran over its nuclear program.

McConnell did not alter the assessment of Iran, but said he should have tried to explain it better.

"I may have put it up front with a little diagram, what are the component parts, so that the reader could quickly grasp that a portion of it, I would argue maybe even the least significant portion, was halted and there are other parts that continue."

He said that despite North Korea's shutting down it its Yongbyon nuclear facility, U.S. intelligence agencies "remain uncertain" about its commitment to full denuclearization. It is believed to continue uranium enrichment and proliferation activities, he said.

Discussing Cuba, McConnell said in event of Fidel Castro's death, "the political situation is likely to remain stable at least in the initial months."

US warns of 'implosion' of Nato alliance in Afghanistan

Mr Gates said that the transatlantic alliance was under such stress over operations in Afghanistan that it risked imploding. Speaking in Munich to an audience that included presidents, foreign and defence ministers of many EU countries, Mr Gates acknowledged serious shortcomings in Nato operations in Afghanistan.

This was because the alliance was not working properly together to share the burden, he said.

"I am concerned that many people on this continent may not comprehend the magnitude of the direct threat to European security," he said. "We must not – we cannot – become a two-tiered alliance of those who are willing to fight and those who are not. Such a development, with all its implications for collective security, would in effect destroy the alliance."

Mr Gates's words took to a new, and far more acute, level arguments that have become ever sharper in recent months and culminated at an ill-tempered Nato summit in Lithuania last week. While the disputes at the Vilnius summit remained mostly behind closed doors, however, Mr Gates brought them loudly into the open at Munich.

Mr Gates was careful to name no names, but suggestions that some allies were less willing than others to sustain casualties have become a sensitive matter in Germany, where politicians are fending off calls from the Nato command either to contribute more troops to the international force as a whole, or to divert some of the troops serving under German command in northern Afghanistan to the more hostile terrain in the south.

Both the German Foreign minister, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and the Defence minister, Franz Josef Jung, who had already addressed the Munich conference, had been at pains to set the record straight from their perspective. They insisted that the total number of German troops had been limited by the Bundestag, and there was little chance of an increase. They insisted, too, that northern Afghanistan was a dangerous place and Germany has taken casualties. They also argued that if, as Nato has proposed, some German troops were redeployed in the south, this would put at risk the continued success of the operation in the north.

German ministers recognise that their unwillingness to redeploy troops or increase the number is seen in some quarters as evidence of something akin to national cowardice.

While it is possible that France will send an additional 1,000 troops to help out in the south, this will not end the argument, which is partly about the whole performance of the alliance in Afghanistan, and partly about broader issues, such as the Nato command structure and commitment of individual members. As other speakers also noted, there was a deep gulf in public support for the operation between the US and many European countries, where it was doubted that success was even possible.

Mr Gates went out of his way to defend the Afghanistan operation as all of a piece with Nato's "core" purpose: "To defend the security interests and values of the transatlantic community". He presented Afghanistan as the epitome, in practice, of the threats that had been discussed by the alliance in theory during the 1990s – with the combination of an unstable state, terrorists linked by new technology; the nexus between drugs, terrorism and organised crime, as well as a "safe haven" that would allow "Islamic extremists to turn a poisonous ideology into a global movement".

From zero tolerance, bigotry, officially sanctioned hatreds, racism, and in general a National-Paternalism that defines the current Police-State under the Bushwhackers-a state that has killed the Constitutional Republic-in which 'Americans' had begun to think of themselves as 'a free people.'

Forty years ago during another phony war, in 1968, at the National- Democratic Convention in Chicago the system for selecting presidents as well as running this country was utterly destroyed. It was replaced with a 'Party-loyalty' that supersedes all national political affiliations to the Constitution-especially during a time of war. It was there that the term "American" became an endangered species. (1)

From then until now the extremes of this treachery have not been used, thus allowing the truth about 'elections' to remain hidden from the voting public. That is all about to CHANGE under the terms of this conflicted election year. Under the constitution national elections were supposed to involve the national election of the president by the citizens of the United States. That did not involve delegates, or Super-Delegates, or the political will of party conventions-all of that was created by the two political parties. Incidentally the 'two-party-system' is NOT part of the constitution.

This so-called two party system was created by the Democrats and the Republicans to protect themselves from any third party intrusion on their political feast, which they discovered early-on, could be very lucrative for those who controlled the money and the largess of the world's richest nation.To insure that their 'political-rein' would never be interrupted, the parties took complete charge of national-presidential-elections.

They already had the 'Electoral College' whose delegates do not have to abide by the voters who selected them. In this complex twist of election trivia, it seems that the people only get to vote for "delegates" ­ not the actual candidates themselves. Then these 'delegates' meet in the Electoral College, after the election, and vote-in the actual people who will be the president and vice-president of the US. Those delegates to the Electoral College do not have to follow the voter's dictates as decided in the conventions. They can change their minds-despite the results of the votes that supposedly sent them to the Electoral College.

It was from this twisted bit of outmoded thinking that the two (and only two) political parties got the idea to switch everything from direct elections by the people to this quasi "selection" by Political-Insiders. These are the governor's, the head of the political party's and the Congressional members of The-535-Club: all of whom are supposed to 'protect and defend the constitution' ­ but most of whom have placed their own Party loyalty ahead of any loyalty to either the Constitution or the people of this country. This SECRET set of rules for selecting the leadership of the nation has remained under-wraps for four decades.

Now all those that thought their vote actually counted-are about to see the awful truth-but too late to do anything about it! This too is part of 'what really happened' while the herd was too busy with their tiny little lives, so self-absorbed with buying, stealing, and becoming absorbed in everything except the pillars of their own way of life-that they each failed to notice the 'death- throes' of the one nation that so many have called home! (2)

Do not be surprised by anything that might come from the conventions once they finally begin. Cheney has 'predicted' that the Republicans will win in November, and the Decider is promising the conservatives that he will insure that the Republicans will have a true conservative as its candidate in November. Using the new math ­ that candidate might well be Dick Cheney.

But however this turns out ­ there is an even more over-arching and far more powerful group that makes all its own rules and they have ALREADY selected who the next president and vice-president shall be. The American public will have nothing to do with it-if we ever did! However, if the public actually rebels over having their presidential elections stolen (for a third time by Bush & the Bandits): then and only then will anything even remotely begin to change!

Just look at how far we've fallen: Our leaders are not bound by the same laws that each of us must answer to. Cops are not bound by the same laws which they "enforce," too often using torture and deadly force on unsuspecting people who once looked to them for protection from both crime and government. Homeland Security has secretly hired mercenaries by the hundreds of thousands to militarize our police and replace the State National Guardsmen with these hired thugs for ten times a day what we paid the National Guard. Three days ago we learned of another insider compact between the FBI and the self-styled 'patriots' of the right wing Corporatocracy ­ that now have over 23,000 corporations who have been given the right to "shoot-to-kill" Americans WHEN Martial Law is finally in place. (3)

Judges, in too many cases, now decide which parts of the Constitution they will "allow" into their courts; especially in cases brought against the IRS: This from the entire third branch of the US government that is (again) supposed to protect and serve the people who actually pay them. That's 'justified' since the Supreme Court of the United Sates broke the law by appointing Bush to the presidency on 12-12-2000. Since the Supreme's became outlaws, how honest will any of the lower courts have to be when dealing with the rest of us? That answer is still unfolding every day that the government fails to prosecute any of the criminal "cops" that daily attack the population, in the name of Homeland Security, without any fear of sanctions. There are over two million videos on the web of assaults by law-enforcement against citizens ­ about 700 are supposedly under-investigation ­ yet to date there has been no publicity concerning anyone with a badge being disciplined. That means that like-it-or-not we live in a police- state!

Office-holders and political appointees, along with the hundreds of thousands in the various Intelligence Services ­ are also now apparently immune from any laws requiring them to answer for their actions in public or before the Bar of Justice ­ that task is reserved to lowly taxpayers and ordinary working people ­ all others have a Get-Out-Of-Jail FREE card that has no expiration date."

The coming presidential Selection will either mark the resurgence of new life for all Americans, or it will complete the headstone for the death of that wildly-beautiful idea that was created two-hundred and thirty-two years ago. That ladies and gentlemen is really what is at stake in '2008. If the public still refuses to demand real CHANGES ­ then the graveyard of 'good-intentions' will expand a million times over-unless Americans demand an end to this!

House Republicans approach record departures

WASHINGTON — In the last week of January, five members of Congress joined the hottest demographic group on Capitol Hill: Republicans who are heading for the exits.

Reps. Tom Davis of Virginia, Kenny Hulshof of Missouri, Ron Lewis of Kentucky, Dave Weldon of Florida and James Walsh of New York are among 25 Republican members of the House of Representatives who've announced their resignations or retirements. The party is closing in quickly on its record of 27 House retirements, set in 1952.

Hulshof is running for governor; the others are retiring.

"It's become an epidemic," said David Johnson, a Republican consultant and strategist based in Atlanta.

While some members, such as Hulshof, are leaving to pursue new political opportunities, most observers say that the mass departures are the result of the loss of Republican control in the 2006 elections, lackluster fundraising and low morale.

So far, only five House Democrats have announced that they're leaving, either to retire or to run for Senate seats.

Prospects look equally bright for Democrats in the Senate, where five Republican veterans — John Warner of Virginia, Pete Domenici of New Mexico, Chuck Hagel of Nebraska, Larry Craig of Idaho and Wayne Allard of Colorado — are ready to hang it up.

It adds up to a tough year for Republicans, who at a minimum will face a big loss of seniority and experience when the 111th Congress convenes next January. Analysts predict that the party will be hard-pressed to keep Democrats from expanding their 232-199 House majority.

"It means that whatever little chance there was — and it always was a little chance — that they could take back the House is pretty much gone. . . . Open seats are always easier to win," said Robert Smith, a professor of political science at San Francisco State University. He said that many retiring Republicans had discovered that after running the House for more than a decade, "it's not as satisfying to go to the other side."

Much of the Democratic excitement is focused on the party's ability to attract big-time cash.

Outgunning Republicans in the money chase for the first time in at least two decades, Democrats raised a record $67.5 million for House races last year and finished the year with more than $35 million in cash.

"The American people are energized and inspired by Democrats' agenda of change and the strong candidates we've recruited across the country," said Democratic Rep. Chris Van Hollen of Maryland, the chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

At least 10 of the retiring House members belong to the centrist Republican Main Street Partnership, veterans such as Virginia's Davis, New York's Walsh and Minnesota's Jim Ramstad. Some observers predict that the Republican candidates who are nominated to replace them are likely to be more conservative.

Johnson, who worked on Republican former Kansas Sen. Bob Dole's 1996 presidential campaign and has overseen numerous congressional races, said that four more House Republicans could step aside this year. That would break the party's record.

"I would say there's a good possibility, depending on how the polls continue to look," Johnson said. "The Republican brand right now is damaged. Voters are not blaming the Democratic Congress, even though the polls show that Congress is held in such low esteem. Voters are blaming Republicans more than they're blaming the Democrats who are in power. . . . All of a sudden we're playing defense."

Only 33 percent of Americans gave Congress a positive job rating in an ABC-Washington Post poll conducted last week. However, an earlier poll by the same organizations found that 54 percent of respondents still want Democrats to control Congress next year, compared with 40 percent who want Republicans back in charge. The findings were nearly identical to those of a USA Today-Gallup poll in December.

Republicans acknowledge that they face an uphill fight this year, but their leaders are trying to put the best face on their situation.

Julie Shutley, the deputy communications director for the National Republican Congressional Committee, predicted that the party will be in a good position to replace all 25 of its departing members with Republicans. "We feel like we have a very good Republican bench of candidates in the districts that are going to be open seats," she said.

Some analysts regard the exodus of Republicans as normal, the result of natural rhythms that occur in a two-party system, particularly after a watershed election such as 2006, when Democrats won control of both houses of Congress. Under this theory, the party that wins control often will consolidate its power in elections two years later.

Democrats, of course, are hoping for a sweep next November: winning back the White House and strengthening their majorities on Capitol Hill. Or at least winning 60 Senate seats so they have a veto-proof majority if a Republican wins the White House. They're hoping that increased turnout and grass-roots energy in the presidential race will bolster their congressional candidates.

The Republicans' money problems are compounded by an unpopular war in Iraq, an economy that's quickly going south and President Bush's low approval ratings, Smith said.

Johnson said Republicans "haven't adapted to life in the minority" and that the party lacked a cohesive strategy to rebound. He gave credit to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a California Democrat who offers a very different public image from that of Newt Gingrich, the former Georgia congressman who led the House after Republicans won control in 1994. That's the last time the parties traded control.

"Part of the Republican problem right now that I see as a strategist is our communications effort," Johnson said. "We don't have any good communicators. We don't seem to stay on message. We come across as grumpy old men. I hate to say it, but that's part of the problem. We're not telegenic on TV. We're going against Nancy Pelosi, who could be damaged but — I have to take my hat off to her — she's done an excellent job with the media. Nothing seems to stick on her like everything stuck on Newt Gingrich."
