SEC Investigates Trading In Lehman Shares

U.S. regulators are investigating whether traders spread false rumors about Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.'s financial soundness to profit from a drop in the company's share price, two people familiar with the probe said.

The Securities and Exchange Commission has expanded an inquiry into whether investors including hedge funds tried to manipulate Bear Stearns Cos. stock to also review a decline in Lehman's shares, said the people, who declined to be identified because the inquiry isn't public. The Lehman probe examines short sales of the company's stock, one of the people said.

Lehman, the fourth-largest U.S. securities firm, has tumbled 26 percent this month amid speculation that Wall Street firms can't fund their operations. A run on Bear Stearns two weeks ago forced the fifth-largest U.S. securities firm to sell itself to JPMorgan Chase & Co. at a fraction of its market value with financial support from the Federal Reserve.

``It makes a lot of sense to me to look at Lehman if you see the same movements,'' said Tamar Frankel, a law professor at Boston University. ``If someone is spreading baseless or misleading rumors in order to profit from the impact on the market, that's really a threat to the system.''

Lehman spokesman Brian Finnegan declined to comment. John Nester, a spokesman for the Washington-based SEC, said the agency doesn't confirm or comment about ongoing investigations.

Probe Confirmed

Two people familiar with the Bear Stearns probe confirmed its existence March 18. The investigation looks at short sales and trading in put options, one of the people said at the time.

In a statement that day, the SEC said it may look for signs of market manipulation or insider trading when examining incidents such as the near collapse of Bear Stearns. Such inquiries may focus on ``the dissemination of false or misleading information to investors by companies or other market participants,'' the agency said.

Lehman stock plunged March 17, falling as much as 48 percent on speculation it would face a cash shortage similar to the one at Bear Stearns. The shares recouped all their loss and then some by the next day's close of trading, after the firm announced first-quarter earnings and its cash position.

The stock slipped 84 cents to $37.87 in composite trading on the New York Stock Exchange today.

On March 18, Lehman said it had $30 billion of cash and $64 billion in assets that could easily be turned into cash. The stockpile of cash, money-market instruments, corporate bonds and equities available for sale is the largest among the five biggest U.S. brokers, according to Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. analyst Brad Hintz.

2001 Anthrax Attack Linked To Army Bioweapons

The FBI has narrowed its focus to "about four" suspects in the 6 1/2-year investigation of the deadly anthrax attacks of 2001, and at least three of those suspects are linked to the Army’s bioweapons research facility at Fort Detrick in Maryland, FOX News has learned.

Among the pool of suspects are three scientists — a former deputy commander, a leading anthrax scientist and a microbiologist — linked to the research facility, known as USAMRIID.

The FBI has collected writing samples from the three scientists in an effort to match them to the writer of anthrax-laced letters that were mailed to two U.S. senators and at least two news outlets in the fall of 2001, a law enforcement source confirmed.

The anthrax attacks began shortly after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, further alarming a nation already reeling from the deaths of 3,000 Americans. Five people were killed and more than a dozen others were infected by the deadly spores in the fall of 2001.

A leading theory is that the anthrax was stolen from Fort Detrick and then sealed inside the letters. A law enforcement source said the FBI is essentially engaged in a process of elimination.

Much of the early public focus fell on a Fort Detrick scientist named Steven Hatfill, who is suing federal authorities for identifying him as a person of interest. Now the FBI is focusing on other scientists at the facility.

"Fort Detrick is run by the United States Army. It's the most secure biological warfare research center in the United States," a bioterrorism expert told FOX News.

Asked to comment on the likelihood that the anthrax originated at the facility, the expert said:

"It's not suprising, except that it would underscore that there was serious security deficiencies that existed at one time at Fort Detrick — the ability of researchers to smuggle out some type of very sophisticated anthrax weapon and in some quantity. And, nevertheless, it was possible."

In December 2001, an Army commander tried to dispel the possibility of a connection to Fort Detrick by taking the media on a rare tour of the base. The commander said the Army used only liquid anthrax, not powder, for its experiments.

"I would say that it does not come from our stocks, because we do not use that dry material," Maj. Gen. John Parker said. The letters that were mailed to the media and Sens. Tom Daschle and Patrick Leahy all contained powdered anthrax.

But in an e-mail obtained by FOX News, scientists at Fort Detrick openly discussed how the anthrax powder they were asked to analyze after the attacks was nearly identical to that made by one of their colleagues.

"Then he said he had to look at a lot of samples that the FBI had prepared ... to duplicate the letter material," the e-mail reads. "Then the bombshell. He said that the best duplication of the material was the stuff made by [name redacted]. He said that it was almost exactly the same … his knees got shaky and he sputtered, 'But I told the General we didn't make spore powder!'"

Asked for comment, an Army spokeswoman referred all calls to the FBI. The FBI would not comment about the pool of suspects, but a spokeswoman said the investigation clearly remains a priority.

Official Web Site Hacked Over Porn Ban

Hackers have defaced the Web site of Indonesia's information ministry in response to a government move to restrict access to pornographic material on the Internet, an official said on Friday.

Indonesia's parliament on Tuesday passed a new information bill that criminalizes the transmission of pornographic material on the Web.

The Southeast Asian country has had a vigorous debate over pornography in recent years, exposing deep divisions in the Muslim-majority nation.

Hackers on Thursday posted a message on the information ministry's Web site (http:/www.depkominfo.go.id) saying: "Prove that the law has not been made to cover government stupidity."

The message was accompanied by a mocked-up photograph of a local information technology expert, who has been advising the government on the new law, depicted with a bare chest.

Screenshots of the hacked page were posted on the Detik.com news Web site and a cyber chat forum.

The message had been removed and the Web site was now running normally, said Gatot Broto, an official at the ministry.

The ministry said the law was a response to concerns in society about the negative impact of pornographic and violent sites as more Indonesians gain access to the Internet.

Under the law, anyone found guilty of transmitting pornographic material, false news or racial and religious hate messages on the Internet could face up to six years in prison or a fine of 1 billion rupiah ($109,000).

Indonesia's parliament has yet to pass a controversial pornography bill, which aims to shield the young from pornographic material and lewd acts.

Earlier draft versions contained provisions that could jail people for kissing in public and criminalize many forms of art or traditional culture that hinge on sensuality, sparking criticism it could curb freedoms and hurt Indonesia's tolerant tradition.

Mukasey: Piracy Funding Terrorism

Attorney General Michael Mukasey warned Friday that the huge profits generated from piracy and counterfeiting are increasingly flowing into the coffers of terrorist groups.

In remarks to Silicon Valley executives at the Tech Museum of Innovation, Mukasey said the economy and national security of the United States are increasingly threatened by violations involving copyrighted software code, patented inventions and trademarked properties.

Terror groups are taking their cues from organized crime and increasingly funding their operations from counterfeiting and piracy, he said.

Mukasey said his department is devoting more resources to prosecuting intellectual property crimes, which led to a 7 percent increase in the number of IP cases filed in 2007 over the year before and a 33 percent increase over 2005.

"Criminal syndicates, and in some cases even terrorist groups, view IP crime as a lucrative business and see it as a low-risk way to fund other activities," Mukasey said. "A primary goal of our IP enforcement mission is to show these criminals that they're wrong."

Before Friday's speech, he met privately with representatives from companies including Apple Inc. and Adobe Systems Inc.

Mukasey did not elaborate on the topics discussed in that meeting. The attorney general also met with entertainment industry executives in Los Angeles a day earlier during this three-day California trip, and did not discuss those talks.

Venezeula Sends Exxon Oil To China

CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuela is sending to China all the oil it previously shipped to a U.S. refinery jointly owned with Exxon Mobil amid a legal battle between the OPEC nation and the U.S. oil giant, Energy Minister Rafael Ramirez said on Friday.

"With respect to the shipments, we put them at China's disposal," Ramirez told reporters. "All of it."

Exxon and Venezuela have been in dispute over supplies to the Louisiana-based Chalmette refinery since Exxon won court orders freezing $12 billion in Venezuelan assets as part of a legal battle over compensation for Exxon assets Venezuela nationalized in 2007.

State oil company PDVSA halted supplies to Chalmette, a 50-50 joint venture that can process about 193,000 barrels per day of crude, after Exxon began rejecting some of the cargoes that Venezuela destined for the refinery.

Ramirez said PDVSA rerouted the supplies in protest, which he said were meant to pressure Venezuela as part of an international arbitration over the 2007 nationalization of the Cerro Negro heavy oil project that Exxon once ran.

Exxon wants at least $5 billion in compensation, though PDVSA says it is due less than $1 billion.

A London court this month lifted one of the freeze orders, though Exxon still has similar injunctions in Netherlands and Netherlands Antilles courts.

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is keen to export more oil to Asia to reduce traditional dependence on United States energy markets.

China Cloaking Soldiers As Monks To Incite Riots

Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama on Saturday alleged that Chinese soldiers disguised as monks were instigating riots in his homeland.

Dalai Lama joined religious leaders of several faiths at the memorial of Mahatama Gandhi, Rajghat, in New Delhi, to pray for those killed in the unrest in Tibet since March 10.

The exiled Tibetan leader told reporters later that he had come to New Delhi to take a course on Buddhist teaching and meditation, but his mind had been much distracted after the Lhasa uprising.

"Since March 10 (when riots begin in Lhasa), I am having the same experience that I had in 1959 (the year he fled to India from Tibet)," he said.

China was disguising its soldiers as monks to give the impression that Tibetans were instigating the riots, he added.

"In one picture, we see a lama holding a sword, but it is not a traditional Tibetan sword. We know that a few hundred soldiers have been dressed like monks," said the Dalai Lama, who fled his homeland in 1959 and lives in India along with some 100,000 Tibetan exiles.

Massive protests engulfed large parts of Lhasa and Tibet earlier this month challenging Beijing's rule in the region. This also sparked demonstrations by Tibetans in several countries, including India.

The Dalai Lama has his government-in-exile in the northern Indian hill town of Dharamsala. But the government is not recognised by any country.

Asserting he was not anti-China, the Dalai Lama said the official policy of the Chinese government was undermining Tibetan culture.

"There is evidence the Chinese people in Tibet are increasing month by month," he said.

He said he wanted "meaningful autonomy" in Tibet. "The whole world knows that we are not seeking independence, only China does not seem to know."

He described China as a "police state" with a "rule of terror". "It seems like a stable state, but underneath there is a lot of resentment."

The Dalai Lama said that China "deserved" to host the Olympic games. "But, at the same time, they should be reminded that if they wanted to be respected as hosts, civil rights and religious freedom should be improved."

He said India was giving Tibetans "maximum help", but acknowledged that it had ‘limitations’.

Meanwhile, China has said that it will compensate victims of anti-government protests in Tibet, a state news agency said Saturday, while diplomats were taken to visit the region in an effort by China to show it has restored order.

The government wants to enforce calm quickly following the riots, which drew attention to its human rights record as it prepares for this summer's Beijing Olympics.

Katrina Victims May Have To Repay Money

Imagine that your home was reduced to mold-covered wood framing by Hurricane Katrina. Desperate for money to rebuild, you engage in a frustrating bureaucratic process, and after months of living in a government provided-trailer that gives off formaldehyde fumes you finally win a federal grant.

Then a collector announces that you have to pay back thousands of dollars.

Thousands of Katrina victims may be in the same boat.

A private contractor under investigation for the compensation it received to run the Road Home grant program for Katrina victims says that in the rush to deliver aid to homeowners in need some people got too much. Now it wants to hire a separate company to collect millions in grant overpayments.

The contractor, ICF International of Fairfax, Va., revealed the extent of the overpayments when it issued a March 11 request for bids from companies willing to handle "approximately 1,000 to 5,000 cases that will necessitate collection effort."

The bid invitation said: "The average amount to be collected is estimated to be approximately $35,000, but in some cases may be as high as $100,000 to $150,000."

The biggest grant amount allowed by the Road Home program is $150,000, so ICF believes it paid some recipients the maximum when they should not have received a penny. If ICF's highest estimate of 5,000 collection cases — overpaid by an average of $35,000 — proves to be true, that means applicants will have to pay back a total of $175 million.

One-third of qualified applicants for Road Home help had yet to receive any rebuilding check as of this past week. The program, which has come to symbolize the lurching Katrina recovery effort, has $11 billion in federal funds.

ICF spokeswoman Gentry Brann said in an e-mail Friday that the overpayment recovery effort was made inevitable when insurance and other aid to Katrina victims was eventually measured against what an applicant received from the Road Home program.

Brann said there was a sense of urgency in paying Road Home applicants, and ICF knew applicants might eventually have to return some money.

"The choice was either to process grants immediately or wait until the March 2008 deadline (for submitting Road Home applications) before disbursing any funds," Brann said in her e-mail.

Brann pointed out that 5,000 collections cases would represent a 4-percent error rate for the Road Home that is "quite good for large federal programs."

Frank Silvestri, co-chair of the Citizen's Road Home Action Team, a group that formed out of frustrations with ICF, sees it far differently.

"They want people to pay for their incompetence and their mistakes. What they need to be is aggressive about finding the underpayments," he said. "People relied, to their detriment, on their (ICFs) expertise and rebuilt their houses and now they want to squeeze this money back out of them."

The prospect of Road Home grant collections comes less than two weeks after the Louisiana inspector general and the legislative auditor said they were investigating why former Gov. Kathleen Blanco paid ICF an extra $156 million in her waning days in office to administer the program. With the increase, ICF stands to earn $912 million to run Road Home, a contract that also sweetened its initial public stock offering, helping it buy out four other companies and enter government contracting in sectors including national defense and the environment.

Paul Rainwater, executive director of the Louisiana Recovery Authority, the state body that asked for the Blanco-ICF investigations, acknowledged the collections could be painful for applicants, many of whom have used up their nest eggs to rebuild.

"The state must walk a fine line of treating homeowners who have been overpaid with fairness and compassion and ensuring that all federal funds are used for their intended purpose," said Rainwater, an appointee of new Gov. Bobby Jindal.

Upon receiving money from Road Home, grantees sign forms that say they must refund any overpayments.

Melanie Ehrlich, co-chair of Citizen's Road Home Action Team, which has documented Road Home cases that appear littered with mistakes, said she had no confidence that ICF had correctly calculated overpayments. She charged that the company was more likely using collections as retribution against people who had appealed their award amounts in effort to get the aid they deserved.

"I think they are looking for ways to decrease awards and that's part of dissuading people," she said.

Brann said applicants are told an appeal could boost or diminish their award. She called Ehrlich's charge "a totally unfounded assertion."

U.S. Spy Agency Seeks Data On Power Grid

WASHINGTON, March 28 (UPI) -- The agency that manages data from U.S. spy satellites is exploring ways to map the nation's entire electric grid as part of efforts to protect infrastructure.

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency wants to create an "electric energy infrastructure dataset," including the geographical locations of all transmission lines, power plants, substations, and generating units, to show the way power flows through the system and where the control points are, the agency said this week in procurement documents.

In a so-called sources sought notice, the NGA asks any companies that could provide such a database how accurate their geo-locational data is, what format they could provide the database in, and how often it would be updated.

The database is being established, the notice says, "in support of the federal level homeland security, homeland defense, and emergency response and recovery missions to protect the nation's infrastructure."

The agency says it needs a license for the database that will enable it to share throughout the U.S. government, including the military; with foreign partners including Canada, Britain and Australia; and "non-federal governmental disaster/emergency response agencies and/or personnel supporting the homeland security mission."

Now that the Fed and the Treasury Department have clumsily come to the rescue of the financial titans of Wall Street, it is now politically dangerous to resist similar pleas from just about everybody else. Populism is emerging as a dominant theme is this election year, and with so much largesse showered on Bear Stearns and JP Morgan Chase, politicians are demanding even more generous terms for consumers. In Washington, it seems that two wrongs apparently make a right. Another downside to corporate bailouts is that they provide the critics of free market capitalism with plenty of excuses to weigh down American economic vitality with even more unnecessary regulation.

In the first place, the current mess did not result from a failure of the free market, but from too much government interference. The real estate bubble, and the shaky securitized products it spawned, resulted from the Fed artificially setting interest rates too low. Had interest rates been allowed to find their market levels, rather than be set by government decree, the real estate bubble never would have been inflated in the first place.

In a nation short on savings and heavy with debt, the free market would naturally set interest rates quite high. With lots of demand for credit, but a limited supply of savings, the risk of lending and therefore the price of credit (interest rates) would be high. Although onerous to borrowers, high rates would have both encouraged saving and discouraged borrowing. In the end, these market forces would reduce interest rates and produce a more stable balance between savings and consumption. However, the Fed did not want American consumers to be subjected to free market discipline that might otherwise reign in their non-stop spending. After all, reckless consumption was falsely believed to be the engine of our prosperity.

So the Fed fixed the price of credit (interest rates) well below the rate that would have been set by the free market. This sent false economic signals to the market that more savings were available than actually existed, leading to an over-investment in housing. Also, by keeping the rate of interest below the rate of inflation, rampant speculation was encouraged, and the foundation was laid for the very type of mortgage financing that has now come back to bite us.

In the second place, no one on Wall Street should be bailed out. The effects of the bursting of the housing bubble should be dealt with by the market, despite the fact that the underlying bubble itself was a byproduct of government intervention.

Apart from the problems created by interfering with the market's attempts to restore balance and reallocate resources, bailouts create all sorts of moral hazards. After all, why should bailouts be limited to investment banks or overstretched homeowners? What about renters who also borrowed too much money? What about those behind on their credit cards, auto or student loans? Why shouldn't they get bailed out? How about small entrepreneurs whose start-up businesses failed -- should they get bailed out as well?

In market economies all sorts of people lose money, sometimes as a result of circumstances entirely beyond their control. While this is clearly not the case for most homeowners and mortgage lenders, some would obviously fall within that category. However, it is not up to government to rescue them. Even if some borrowers and lenders were lead astray by the false economic signals sent by the Fed, they are never-the-less responsible for any losses they might have incurred as a result of following them. The real danger is that while government interference is actually at fault, it's the free-market that ends up taking the blame.

Is an International Financial Conspiracy Driving World Events?

Was Alan Greenspan really as dumb as he looks in creating the late housing bubble that threatens to bring the entire Western debt-based economy crashing down?

Was something as easy to foresee as this really the trigger for a meltdown that could destroy the world’s financial system? Or was it done, perhaps, "accidentally on purpose"?

And if so, why?

Let’s turn to the U.S. personage that conspiracy theorists most often mention as being at the epicenter of whatever elite plan is reputed to exist. This would be David Rockefeller, the 92-year-old multibillionaire godfather of the world’s financial elite.

The lengthy Wikipedia article on Rockefeller provides the following version of a celebrated statement he allegedly made in an opening speech at the Bilderberg conference in Baden-Baden, Germany, in June 1991:

"We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time magazine, and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during these years. But the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government which will never again know war, but only peace and prosperity for the whole of humanity. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in the past centuries."

This speech was made 17 years ago. It came at the beginning in the U.S. of the Bill Clinton administration. Rockefeller speaks of an "us." This "us," he says, has been having meetings for almost 40 years. If you add the 17 years since he gave the speech it was 57 years ago—two full generations.

Not only has "us" developed a "plan for the world," but the attempt to "develop" the plan has evidently been successful, at least in Rockefeller’s mind. The ultimate goal of "us" is to create "the supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers." This will lead, he says, toward a "world government which will never again know war."

Just as an intellectual exercise, let’s assume that David Rockefeller is as important and powerful a person as he seems to think he is. Let’s give the man some credit and assume that he and "us" have in fact succeeded to a degree. This would mean that the major decisions and events since Rockefeller gave the speech in 1991 have probably also been part of the plan or that they have at least represented its features and intent.

Therefore by examining these decisions and events we can determine whether in fact Rockefeller is being truthful in his assessment that the Utopia he has in mind is on its way or has at least come closer to being realized. In no particular order, some of these decisions and events are as follows:

The implementation of the North American Free Trade Agreement by the Bill Clinton and George W. Bush administrations has led to the elimination of millions of U.S. manufacturing jobs as well as the destruction of U.S. family farming in favor of global agribusiness.

Similar free trade agreements, including those under the auspices of the World Trade Organization, have led to export of millions of additional manufacturing jobs to China and elsewhere.

Average family income in the U.S. has steadily eroded while the share of the nation’s wealth held by the richest income brackets has soared. Some Wall Street hedge fund managers are making $1 billion a year while the number of homeless, including war veterans, pushes a million.

The housing bubble has led to a huge inflation of real estate prices in the U.S. Millions of homes are falling into the hands of the bankers through foreclosure. The cost of land and rentals has further decimated family agriculture as well as small business. Rising property taxes based on inflated land assessments have forced millions of lower-and middle-income people and elderly out of their homes.

The fact that bankers now control national monetary systems in their entirety, under laws where money is introduced only through lending at interest, has resulted in a massive debt pyramid that is teetering on collapse. This "monetarist" system was pioneered by Rockefeller-family funded economists at the University of Chicago. The rub is that when the pyramid comes down and everyone goes bankrupt the banks which have been creating money "out of thin air" will then be able to seize valuable assets for pennies on the dollar, as J.P. Morgan Chase is preparing to do with the businesses owned by Carlyle Capital. Meaningful regulation of the financial industry has been abandoned by government, and any politician that stands in the way, such as Eliot Spitzer, is destroyed.

The total tax burden on Americans from federal, state, and local governments now exceeds forty percent of income and is rising. Today, with a recession starting, the Democratic-controlled Congress, while supporting the minuscule "stimulus" rebate, is hypocritically raising taxes further, even for middle-income earners. Back taxes, along with student loans, can no longer be eliminated by bankruptcy protection.

Gasoline prices are soaring even as companies like Exxon-Mobil are recording record profits. Other commodity prices are going up steadily, including food prices, with some countries starting to experience near-famine conditions. 40 million people in America are officially classified as "food insecure."

Corporate control of water and mineral resources has removed much of what is available from the public commons, and the deregulation of energy production has led to huge increases in the costs of electricity in many areas.

The destruction of family farming in the U.S. by NAFTA (along with family farming in Mexico and Canada) has been mirrored by policies toward other nations on the part of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank. Around the world, due to pressure from the "Washington consensus," local food self-sufficiency has been replaced by raising of crops primarily for export. Migration off the land has fed the population of huge slums around the cities of underdeveloped countries.

Since the 1980s the U.S. has been fighting wars throughout the world either directly or by proxy. The former Yugoslavia was dismembered by NATO. Under cover of 9/11 and by utilizing off-the-shelf plans, the U.S. is now engaged in the military conquest and permanent military occupation of the Middle East. A worldwide encirclement of Russia and China by U.S. and NATO forces is underway, and a new push to militarize space has begun. The Western powers are clearly preparing for at least the possibility of another world war.

The expansion of the U.S. military empire abroad is mirrored by the creation of a totalitarian system of surveillance at home, whereby the activities of private citizens are spied upon and tracked by technology and systems which have been put into place under the heading of the "War on Terror." Human microchip implants for tracking purposes are starting to be used. The military-industrial complex has become the nation’s largest and most successful industry with tens of thousands of planners engaged in devising new and better ways, both overt and covert, to destroy both foreign and domestic "enemies."

Meanwhile, the U.S. has the largest prison population of any country on earth. Plus everyday life for millions of people is a crushing burden of government, insurance, and financial fees, charges, and paperwork. And the simplest business transactions are burdened by rake-offs for legions of accountants, lawyers, bureaucrats, brokers, speculators, and middlemen.

Finally, the deteriorating conditions of everyday life have given rise to an extraordinary level of stress-related disease, as well as epidemic alcohol and drug addiction. Governments themselves around the world engage in drug trafficking. Instead of working to lower stress levels, public policy is skewed in favor of an enormous prescription drug industry that grows rich off the declining level of health through treatment of symptoms rather than causes. Many of these heavily-advertised medications themselves have devastating side-effects.

This list should at least give us enough to go on in order to ask a hard question. Assuming again that all these things are parts of the elitist plan which Mr. Rockefeller boasts to have been developing, isn’t it a little strange that the means which have been selected to achieve "peace and prosperity for the whole of humanity" involve so much violence, deception, oppression, exploitation, graft, and theft?

In fact it looks to me as though "our plan for the world" is one that is based on genocide, world war, police control of populations, and seizure of the world’s resources by the financial elite and their puppet politicians and military forces.

In particular, could there be a better way to accomplish all this than what appears to be a concentrated plan to remove from people everywhere in the world the ability to raise their own food? After all, genocide by starvation may be slow, but it is very effective. Especially when it can be blamed on "market forces."

And can it be that the "us" which is doing all these things, including the great David Rockefeller himself, are just criminals who have somehow taken over the seats of power? If so, they are criminals who have done everything they can to watch their backs and cover their tracks, including a chokehold over the educational system and the monopolistic mainstream media.

One thing is certain: The voters of America have never knowingly agreed to any of this.

New Report from Danish Gender Gulag

Dear Henry,

As promised, enclosed is a collection of `news`paper cuttings which is entirely representative of the level of androgyny here in `Old` Denmark.

I have tried to show how for example, that when an `educational facility` wishes to promote it's courses, it invariably does so by using images of female students or pupils. This gender bias is `across the board` in all walks of life here.

I have included `ads` for hairdressing salons with pictures of `women` stylists, proudly wearing the uniform standard short hair cut which they promote, and which can be found on the heads of 90% of women in their late 20's and upwards. Similarly, you will note the complete lack of any `femininity` in the pictures, particularly the total absence of any effort on the part of the women to look, well, like women.

Trousers/Jeans are uniform wear for women here, and Skirts/Dresses more or less non existant, particularly as daywear. Being attractive and feminine is very low on the prority scale here.

Look closely at the men. How weak and subdued they appear, and they are exactly that.

This is a very fair representation of the Danish human landscape. It's ugly and it is shocking. To be honest, the photographs do it too much justice. Only a week or two of intensive submersion in this most grim of societies can give a true impression to the uncorrupted normal human being.

Some years back, we were at a small Airport near here, when I heard two very scruffy young girls of around 17 years of age, speaking with a North American accent. I engaged them in conversation as I am want to do and discovered that they were from Michigan on a student exchange program. They had been in DK for six months and hated it. Then their mother appeared and we had a long conversation about how she had flown over to DK in order to take them home.

Two months prior to that, she had met them in Spain on an arranged vacation and had been shocked at how much her girls had changed in only four months. They had become dour in their appearance and character. The mother, a smartly dressed lady in her forties continued to speak about the dreadful downturn in the girls demeanour and appearance. They themselves spoke of how right from the very beginning of their stay in DK, pressure had been placed upon them to conform, in all ways. This pressure came from teachers and fellow pupils alike, and was they said targeted at their appearance and attitude. The mother had been to an interview with the Danish school governors and had made them very aware at how appalled she was at the treatment her daughters had received and that she intended to take the matter further. She commented on how stoic the `board` members were and how they failed to even respond to her complaints.

This story perfectly illustrates what the Danes term as the `Jantelav` (pronounced `Yantelow) or `Law of Yante`. This is an unwritten code of conduct which totally permeates every aspect of Danish life, and has it's roots in a virulent form of Lutheranism, mixed in with Marxist Socialism. This is another means by which control is placed on the population, which being so indoctrinated by this poisonous dogma, then saves the state some money by regulating the thing themselves. It's tenets are basically this :

Don't think that you are special. Don't think anybody or anything you have or care about is anything special.

Don't stand out in a crowd or in any way attract attention to yourself.

Conformity in all things is a requirement for being left unmolested by officialdom and fellow citizens.

This is the basis of a dour and joyless doctrine which is understood and followed by all Danes and taints the whole Danish experience. Without actually experiencing it's toxic effect, it cannot be truly appreciated for the dreadful evil that it is.

Anyhow, she was very happy to be taking her girls back home and insisted that she would never travel to this side of the Atlantic ever again, and her daughters concurred.

My own daughter had a taste of it back in 2000, when she came to visit me here for a vacation, hopefully intended to bridge some of our problems. She was confronted with this code from the moment she stepped off the plane from the UK. A lively and headstrong girl, very attractive and open by nature, things did not go well between her and the natives.

She brought with her a suitcase full of pretty clothes and dresses which she would wear out during the evenings when we took her to town, or on visits to family and friends. In place of the admiration she was used to, she received condemning stares and whispered remarks intended to insult, without actually confronting her face to face. I was forced to defend her on several occasions, and the whole issue made her very sad, and for the first time in her life probably, self concious. This is of course what is intended. Keep people down, don't allow them any joy or expression of their selves. Make them conform.

It was not good, and she never returned. I can't say I blame her.

Anyway Henry, have a look and make sure you are not alone when you do. It is a fairly shocking collection indeed. I swear to you that it is totally representative of what you would meet if you were ever unfortunate to find yourself this side of the pond. I should say of course that your wife and you would be very welcome to come and stay, and we would do everything to make your time with us a happy and rewarding one, and this is a sincere offer. But be warned, DK should come with a `health warning`.

Cheney dragging his evil ass over there wasn't to watch soccer games - which, by the way, GWB says proves how great the country is doing - HONEST TO GOD THE DOLT SAID THIS a couple days ago! Most people- namely because we get NO news - don't realize that GWB's surge consisted on handing out DUFFLE BAGS full of loot --to the various tribes to bribe them into NOT fighting or attacking American forces. Think about it -- we've been handing out tens of thousands of dollars to the very same people who planted bombs - that has left 4000 US dead - tens of thousands wounded.

I wonder how the couple in Brattleboro, Vermont whose only child Kyle was blown up by these forces feels about their tax dollars now being paid to their kid's killers to not fight? I have a feeling that all thise dough is running out. We only hear of the Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds when, in fact, there are approximately 28 different tribes to whom the people are loyal to.

We recently had two more killed from NH - one kid was on his FOURTH trip over there - they just keep sending them until they DIE. The other one from Littleton was blown up - gosh, because the Humvee he was driving STILL HAD NO ARMOUR. If he'd have been in a presidential convoy cruising Tuscon he'd sure as hell have been protected. These kids die and you couldn't speak to anyone on the street who knows or cares! Oh, our Governor remarked that the kid from Littleton DIED PROTECTING OUR FREEDOM - can you believe this bullshit?

He died and police chief Jose Pequeno (32) with three kids from Sugar Hill, NH (nobody here even knows about him) will NEVER be normal or probably ever come home. His Humvee had no armor - just a few son-of-a-bitching sandbags on the floor.


Three trillion to secure these OIL FIELDS for the international oil barons - and we have to hear this hogwash about protecting our freedom from a land with no navy - no airforce - no infrastructure - and millions dispossessed - or dying with NO medical care. Sandbags and WWII equipment! Jose had his head blown up - has plastic skull pieces, can't walk, can only grunt - has a permanent feeding tube - and we're paying those who blew him up!!

But then when a president and his cohorts LIE - (read New American Century) - about going to war - when the plan was always to occupy - and grab those oil fields (bigger than Saudi Arabia) - you'll have those whose land has been invaded fighting till the death. Ha - latest word is, these supposed Iraqi forces are deserting with their American weapons and joining the various tribal factions.

Basra - this is where 80% of the oil is - and ports are located. They are NOT going to turn these fields over to EXXON - BP, etc - they'll blow them all up first. The worst and most fearful thing is - we have approx 180,000 contractors and 140,000 military there. When you have corporate HOGS running a war - you are going to have CHAOS. Now we have tribes fighting tribes for control - and our military stuck in the middle of this mess. IF and I fully expect it - they start a war with Iran - God help them all. Russia and China will not stand idly by - there is only ONE supply route from Kuwait - the airport in Baghdad where many of our forces are gathered - is 15 miles from the Green Zone (only one road) -- which is now under attack. There is no exit - it won' t be like Vietnam with helicopters removing personnel from the embassy roof. - JM

Saddam Double-Crossed?

Some years ago we coined the phrase "oil-soaked, spy-riddled American monopoly press". It is not an idle statement. The basis for it are the numerous examples we have shown over the forty years we have functioned as a research/investigative group.

About forty years ago, the American CIA created Saddam Hussein and his political party as a bulwark against a growing left-wing in Iraq. Historically, it was just another way the West deals with Europe and the East. American/British Big Business financed Adolf Hitler and the Nazis as an opposition to the Soviets which had themselves been created by the West.

Common Americans do not seem to understand, or want to undertand, the principle, perfected many centuries ago by the Romans. To solidify your power, create so-called "enemies". and then build up your armies to protect you from "them".

Shortly after he was Director of Central Intelligence, Daddy Bush was instrumental in supplying Saddam with chemical/biological weapons as well as starting Iraq on the road to nuclear development. The Elder Bush, as a stooge for American-British Big Business, instigated the Iran-Iraq war, 1980 to 1988, to tie-up both nations and keep up the price of oil, while weakening and impoverishing both Mid-East nations.

The Reagan/Bush White House armed Saddam. [See the heavily-documented book "The Spider's Web" by Alan Friedman, 1993, which did not get much mass media mention.]

Savvy folks are well-aware that Saddam was suckered into invading Kuwait, in 1990, as part of a long-simmering ruckus over Iraq's claims to oilfields on the Kuwait-Iraq border going back to 1960 when Kuwait was still a British colony.

In the pre-emptive attack on Iraq by the U.S., March, 2003, the Bush White House arranged to massively bribe the top element of the Iraq Republican Guard, the elite military units supposedly most trusted by Saddam. Thus,` the U.S. Military went almost unopposed up the highway to Baghdad. These turncoat brass and their families were quietly and secretly whisked out of Iraq to safety and housing in the U.S. Remember also, we were among the first to mention that following Persian Gulf War One, Daddy Bush arranged to bring into the U.S. more than four thousand supposed Iraqi military intelligence defectors. Two thousand of them were with their families, at U.S. taxpayer's expense, housed, fed, and given work, in Oklahoma City. Knowledgeable journalists have contended that these supposed defectors played a role with American dissidents as surrogates for Iraq, in the multiple bombings of the Alfred Murrah Federal Office Building, in Oklahoma City, April 19, 1995.

Yet, Daddy Bush and his financial crony, Bill Clinton, were both in a position to know that these Iraqi military brought into the U.S. had a number of double-agents, saboteurs now on U.S. soil.

The Kuwait dictators, the al Sabah Royal Family, after Persian Gulf War One, hired an American investigation firm, Jules Kroll & Associates, to locate Saddam Hussein's properties. Details were published in 1991, in the Wall Street Journal. Saddam was one of the richest men in that part of the world. He held a huge financial position (and still does) in what became Daimler Chrysler (maker of Mercedes Benz and Chrysler cars); Fairchild Missiles, of Italy; Hachette, which owns, among other things, magazines in the U.S.; and Matra, the Paris-based firm operating the "People Mover" System at O'Hare Airport, Chicago, a light railway moving passengers and baggage from the airport terminals to the planes.

December 13, 2003, was an unlucky day for Saddam. At least, some think so. It may have been a staged event, with Saddam as one of the actors. Bush Crime Family super bagman, James A. Baker III (Daddy Bush Administration Secretary of State), heavily bribed Saddam's guards to abandon him. This made Saddam, supposedly all by himself, available to be arrested in the basement of a farmhouse on the outskirts of his home-town, Tikrit. Coming to grab Saddam was part of a secret U.S. unit along with Saddam's historical enemies, Kurdish troops. Assisting with the bribery of Saddam's guards and the apprehending of Saddam, were OPERATIVES OF CBS NETWORK NEWS. In a live broadcast after the arrest, a CBS Network news hen accidentally let slip the role of CBS in arranging the capture of Saddam. Maybe we can expect that the newswoman making the monstrous mistake, will mysteriously later be found shot to death "accidentally" by some U.S. military, like numerous other reporters in Iraq.

You can see why we call it "the spy-riddled American monopoly press". CBS has assisted the American CIA since the creation of the spy agency.

James A. Baker III is the same bagman, in the year 2000 Presidential election mess. He reportedly bribed southern Florida DEMOCRATS, at a strategic moment, to stop the recounting of ballots for Albert Gore, Jr. Thus George W. Bush was able to get the Florida vote, crucial to the Electoral College vote, and thereby steal the Presidential election.

If Saddam lives to be put on public trial, he could defend himself and wreck the Bushies, with his own eyewitness testimony of treason committed by the Bush Crime Family. A complicating factor, is that France is in the middle of the deal to grab Saddam Hussein. Master blackmailers, the French have plenty on the Bushies, their role in the assassination and the cover up of the same, of President John F. Kennedy, the Florida election theft, George W. Bush and his travels with his male sex-mate, and a French as-yet not released documentary on the Florida election, and plenty more. Insofar as Saddam has been moved out of Iraq, was he quietly moved to Paris?

The various electronic tickertapes in Times Square ought to carry the truth for a change, which if they did, might convey the following advisories:

"Dayton, Ohio -- The images from Baghdad and Basra bristled with explosions, burning buildings, street protests, rocket smoke wafting from the Green Zone.
The words from Dayton were "remarkable" and "victory" and "rebirth."
"Normalcy," President Bush said, "is returning back to Iraq."
The juxtaposition of images and words crisply illustrated Bush's challenge in pleading for more patience from his own weary public for a war that has now surpassed five years and 4,000 American dead. Bush came to Dayton on Thursday to make the case that Iraq has made impressive progress in political reconciliation in recent months, even as his argument was overshadowed by the latest outbreak of violence.
Bush cast the battling in Basra not as a setback but as more fodder for optimism, a sign that Iraq's leaders are ready to challenge the militias who dominate the southern city, employing a tough security crackdown designed and led by their own forces." (1)
Aside from the fact that Iraqis had to be replaced by American forces after four days of failures: There are also other realities now thriving amid the chaos surrounding the US military involvement in both Iraq and Afghanistan-realities that have so far gone completely unnoticed by corporate media in the US. It is utterly amazing how much continues to escape the American-hive-mentality in this country, which has become the repository for so many of the actualities that form the backbone of our occupation in the pre- emptive Bushwar's that we've launched against the Middle East. For instance there was this from Obama, in answer to Amy Goodman's questions on Friday last:
"AMY GOODMAN: Can you call for a ban on the private military contractors like Blackwater?

SEN. BARACK OBAMA: I've actually-I'm the one who sponsored the bill that called for the investigation of Blackwater in [inaudible], so-

"AMY GOODMAN: But would you support the Sanders one now?

SEN. BARACK OBAMA: Here's the problem: we have 140,000 private contractors right there, so unless we want to replace all of or a big chunk of those with US troops, we can't draw down the contractors faster than we can draw down our troops. So what I want to do is draw-I want them out in the same way that we make sure that we draw out our own combat troops. Alright? I mean, I-

AMY GOODMAN: Not a ban?

SEN. BARACK OBAMA: Well, I don't want to replace those contractors with more US troops, because we don't have them, alright? But this was a speech about the economy.

AMY GOODMAN: The war is costing $3 trillion, according to Stiglitz."

SEN. BARACK OBAMA: That's what-I know which I made a speech about last week. Thank you." (2)

Did the public miss this point entirely; the FACT of the 140,000 private contractors that "must be protected" by US troops? These would be the same contractors that employ some of the most vicious mercenaries from around the world, many of them trained at American expense, in what was formerly called "The School of the Americas," a "school" that in reality trained the hated Death Squads that were used throughout Central and South America!

These are the same mercenaries that do not answer to US laws or to the US military chain of command; the same contractors that can make upwards of $1000 a day, to do what GI's did prior to the Cheney-Rumsfeld-Coup at the Pentagon. The Coup succeeded in completely destroying the effectiveness of the US military, however their version of US military force has largely been a colossal failure wherever it needed to show any real signs of military success-whether that was needed before during or after the two invasions in which these disastrously ill-prepared troops were showcased. Now we suddenly must also protect these off-the books mercenaries that have been responsible for so much of the random slaughter of civilians, plus the mind-boggling waste of so many billions of dollars in a mini-series of wars that has only produced illicit-profits for corporate insiders, and the friends of Cheney- Bush.

US forces need to be withdrawn, immediately and totally. The mercenaries have their own aircraft and can remove themselves: after all running is one of the things these guys do best, and since the god they serve is only "Gold, Oil & Dollars," they can find their own way out. By 'signing up" they have already sacrificed whatever might have been left of their souls for money, so whatever happens to these mercenaries is not a concern that the already overburdened taxpayers must also now be saddled with. This is another gray area of US military policy that the Cheney-Rumsfeld- Coup utterly failed to deal with in their zeal to pass out those secret no-bid contracts by the fistful. Nor has any of this been covered by the criminally-negligent-congress that is still soundly- sleeping wherever any oversight has been genuinely needed!

That said; what do Obama's comments reveal about this presidential contender's views and attempted Double-Speak when it comes to what he will "do" about the Wars. He wants "to bring the troops out" without mentioning that the 140,000 private thugs will apparently be staying. US policies need to be issued with one voice and understood without exceptions, otherwise these 'decisions' are not real, but are only tactical moves in a game that we refuse to leave because there is simply far too much money to be made by staying-the death tolls and the destruction throughout the region be damned! It's no wonder that the public doesn't really want to know the truth-because in this instance-the truth might actually be far uglier than the fiction that it was created to serve!

This is certainly true of the numbers of the dead, the permanently damaged, and the walking wounded which these last seventeen years of the War upon Iraq has produced. "73,846 US troops dead, 1,620,906 disabled." (3)

However it is the same with everything that has been done beneath the stealth-policies of the last two illegally constituted administrations. Everything from Finance and Wall Street to American Jobs and the nationwide crumbling of Main Streets across the country have been the result of this comic-book presidency that promises SECURITY, yet produces only more fear accompanied by huge servings of pseudo- terror in this latest chapter of their attempted-seizure of the once civilized world.

Don't take my word for this just re-read the novel "1984." It's all there from the torture and the prisons, to the Real ID Cards, to the loyalty oaths and the tracking of every movement of all the citizens that subsist in abject terror of their 'leaders.' The final cog is being mandated now by the Federal Communications System that is requiring us to all buy new television sets, supposedly to obtain better quality through a new method of transmission: when the truth is that the point is to make possible the two way-cameras that can watch and listen to whatever is happening around every tube that is out there. The irony is they've found a way to get us to pay to be spied upon even further than they've already gone! (4)

Evidence That the CIA Murdered RFK
A new BBC documentary supports the conclusion that the CIA planned and executed the assassination of Robert Kennedy. The new video and photographic evidence -- the result of a three year long investigation --"puts three senior CIA operatives" at the scene of the murder.

Three of these men have been positively identified as senior officers who worked together in 1963 at JMWAVE, the CIA's Miami base for its Secret War on Castro.

David Morales was Chief of Operations and once told friends: "I was in Dallas when we got the son of a bitch and I was in Los Angeles when we got the little bastard."

Gordon Campbell was Chief of Maritime Operations and George Joannides was Chief of Psychological Warfare Operations.

Joannides was called out of retirement in 1978 to act as the CIA liaison to the Congressional investigation into the JFK assassination. Now, we see him at the Ambassador Hotel the night a second Kennedy is assassinated.

As with the 1963 murder of JFK in Dallas, lingering questions dog the official theories. Powder burns indicated that three shots had been fired from very close range from 0 to 1-1/2 inches though no witness could place Sirhan closer than three feet. Sirhan's gun held only eight bullets but a total of ten were recovered. Three were found in Kennedy. Two were lodged in a pantry door frame. One was found in an airspace. Presumably four more were found elsewhere. Significantly, four bullets 'touched' Kennedy to include the three that were recovered --lodged --in his back. At no time was Sirhan ever behind RFK.
Inexcusably, the door frames were burned, the Los Angeles Police Dept. claimed no bullets were found lodged in the "bullet holes", and two expended bullets (inexplicably dug out of wood) were soon found in the front seat of Sirhan's car. The LAPD then destroyed their records of the tests that had been done on the "bullet holes" in the doorframe.

When the hypnotized patsy, Sirhan Sirhan, opened fire on Robert Kennedy from the front, a CIA agent fired the kill shot at close range into the back of Kennedy's head.

The same agent who coordinated the operation and was at the scene, was later brought out of retirement to "handle" the congressional investigation into the assassination.

All 3 members of the assassination team are now dead, but many of those connected to them still hold high offices in government.
The BBC report by Shane O'Sullivane reveals that CIA operatives and four unidentified associates were at the Ambassador Hotel, Los Angeles the night of June 5, 1968, moments before and after the murder. It was broadcast on BBC Newsnight.

The CIA had no domestic jurisdiction and some of the officers were based in South-East Asia at the time, with no reason to be in Los Angeles.

Kennedy had just won the California Democratic primary on an anti-War ticket and was set to challenge Nixon for the White House when he was shot in a kitchen pantry.

A 24-year-old Palestinian, Sirhan Sirhan, was arrested as the lone assassin and notebooks at his house seemed to incriminate him.

However, even under hypnosis, he has never been able to remember the shooting and defence psychiatrists concluded he was in a trance at the time.

Witnesses placed Sirhan's gun several feet in front of Kennedy but the autopsy showed the fatal shot came from one inch behind.

It is not surprising that the CIA would be implicated in the murder of RFK. It is tragic that the same scrutiny was not forthcoming sooner --when it might have done some good. It is tragic that the murder of JFK was not likewise scrutinized. It is tragic that the investigation of this murder was left in the hands of an incompetent Los Angeles Police Department about which there is no adjective to describe the utter incompetence given this case. Earlier there was no adjective to describe the criminal neglect given the murder of JFK in Dallas!

The world's number one terrorist organization, the CIA has committed heinous acts of terrorism abroad, murdering critics of US foreign and domestic policies and has done it on behalf of an increasingly tiny, privileged American elite. This tiny elite of some one percent owns more than the combined wealth of 95% of the entire population. Evidence That the CIA Murdered Bobby Kennedy

The RFK assassination was, like the assassinations of JFK, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Jr., and other prominent figures, a political murder committed by operatives and agents of the US government (including, but limited to, the CIA and FBI), in conjunction with local police (operating as CIA cutouts), and intelligence-connected organized crime figures and mercenaries.

There is overwhelming evidence that the RFK murder was a CIA operation involving the Los Angeles Police Department.

Russia and Japan form nuclear alliance

MOSCOW. (RIA Novosti commentator Tatyana Sinitsyna) - Paris is in shock: nuclear giants Atomenergoprom and Toshiba have decided to form an alliance in civilian nuclear power operations, including power plant construction and fuel production.

The two companies signed a framework agreement last week, under which the Russian company will enrich uranium produced in Kazakhstan, while Toshiba will produce nuclear fuel and undertake the designing and engineering of nuclear power plants.

The firms may establish a strategic partnership in the future, Toshiba said. By securing a stable supply of nuclear fuel through the alliance with Atomenergoprom, Toshiba hopes to sharpen its competitive edge.

Experts predict that the alliance will become the world's leader in the nuclear sector.

Previously, the market was divided between four players: the French-German alliance of Areva and Siemens, two American-Japanese groups, Toshiba-Westinghouse and GE-Hitachi, and Russia's Atomenergoprom.

The Russian-Japanese alliance will cut the number of players to three. Moreover, Toshiba now owns a 70% stake in Westinghouse.

The French newspaper Les Echos described the alliance as "the main event in the nuclear production cycle." As a nuclear power and leading player on the global market of nuclear power engineering, France is worried that the Russian-Japanese tie-up could become a major rival of the French Areva.

The newspaper reports that the French government intends to merge Areva and Alstom into a nuclear power plant building super-company.

The Russian-Japanese merger was prompted by Russia's desire to swim with the tide, although Toshiba was neither its initial nor only choice. Russia made offers of strategic partnership to several candidates, but Toshiba offered the best terms.

Sergei Novikov, a spokesman for Rosatom, the Federal Agency for Nuclear Power, said: "The Japanese have the engineering know-how to build nuclear power plants within three years. They are the recognized leaders in this respect; it takes us five years to build a nuclear power plant. So, we will learn from them if the alliance is formed. We may also cooperate in mutual supplies of large-size equipment. [The alliance] will also allow Russia to emerge on the global market for nuclear fuel."

Atomenergorpom has the technologies of an open nuclear fuel cycle and can build civilian nuclear facilities under turnkey conditions. It also has cutting-edge water-water reactor (VVR) technologies.

Although it has signed only a framework agreement with Toshiba, experts believe that the document is the first step to forming a full-scale transnational alliance. It will be set up as an absolute parity, without the partners exchanging stakes or assets, but agreeing to jointly plan their business. The alliance will work toward a global goal of developing and applying safe, clean and efficient nuclear generation systems.

"The framework agreement is a sign made to the market; subsequent moves will be based on the assumption that business is a highly practical matter, with adequate decisions depending on each particular project," said Novikov.

"If we decide to build a nuclear power plant in Russia's Far East, as stipulated in the general plan for placing nuclear power plants, it would be logical to invite the Japanese," he said.

Experts also say that Russia may join forces with Toshiba to manufacture equipment for nuclear power plants.

Taken together, this promises dynamic, effective and mutually beneficial cooperation.

Sergei Kiriyenko, head of the Rosatom corporation, said: "An alliance of two giant companies would have a positive effect on the nuclear renaissance, making it more predictable and technically feasible."

He said that all consumers of commodities and services of the nuclear fuel cycle would enjoy the fruits of Russian-Japanese partnership.

Harufumi Mochizuki, head of Japan's Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, is of the same opinion.
