(NaturalNews) You Thought MSG Was Bad? At least they admit that it's in there... well, mostly. Have you picked up a can of soup lately and noticed that the sodium levels are lower? Seen a label that said, "No MSG"? How about realizing that there is less sugar on the label of your favorite ice cream? Believe it or not, this is cause for concern.

This article has been especially hard to compose. "Why?", you may ask. There is simply not much information to be found on the subject. It has taken weeks of internet research to uncover the smidgeon of information that has been acquired.

A relatively young company, Senomyx, may be responsible for the sodium and sugar levels falling in your favorite grocery store item. How are they doing this without affecting the taste? The truth is, they may be putting chemicals into your food right now without you even realizing it and without telling you.

And guess what? They don't have to.

Senomyx has contracted with Kraft, Nestle, Coca Cola, Campbell Soup to put a chemical in foods that masks bitter flavors by turning off bitter flavor receptors on the tongue and enhancing salty and sweet flavors. This would allow the companies to tout claims such as "less sugar" or "lower sodium" by reducing the actual sugar and/or salt by approximately half, but the foods will retain the same level of sweetness or saltiness when they touch the tongue by fooling your brain.

All of the companies, although admitting the exclusive contracting rights, decline to identify which foods and beverages the chemical additives have been or will be added to.

These chemical compounds are not required to be listed separately on food labels. On the contrary, they will be lobbed under the umbrella of "artificial flavors" which is already found on most food labels.

The foods that seem to be most in jeopardy of an insurrection of these new chemicals: soups, juices (fruit and vegetable), ice cream, and sauces.

"We are helping companies clean up their labels," said Kent Snyder, chief executive of Senomyx.

Mark Zoller, Senomyx's chief scientist, says that his company has used the human genome sequence and identified hundreds of taste receptors. Senomyx's chemical compounds enhance those receptors to heighten the taste of salt or sugar. Under this premise, they go on to claim that their newly added chemicals are completely safe because they will be used in tiny quantities of less than one part per million whereas artificial sweeteners are used in 200-500 parts per million. This fact alone allows them to forgo the rigorous FDA approval process when introducing new food additives into the marketplace. Attaining the status of GRAS (generally recognized as safe) from the Flavor and Extract Manufacturers Association for their most advanced product that replaces MSG, took this fledgling company less than an 18 month time frame by introducing a safety study of rats conducted for 3 months.

Executive Director of the Center for Science in the Public Interest, Michael Jacobson, commended Senomyx's strides to reduce MSG, salt, and sugar but warned against introducing a new chemical additive into the food supply without strenuous testing. "A three-month study is completely inadequate," he said. "What you want is at least a two-year study on several species of animals."

After pouring a total of 30 million dollars into research and development, the companies that have invested into Senomyx's products have been secretive, to say the least, about their involvement within the company. Some, like Kraft, have declined to divulge any specifics regarding their relationship with Senomyx but instead stated that Kraft was committed "to reducing the sugar and salt levels in many products."

Nestle and Coca Cola declined to comment. I think silence says it all.

Economic rogues run amok in the world

As democracy spread through the world in the 1990s, it was accompanied by a dramatic increase in slavery, according to the author of a new book. “The correlation between democracy and slavery is one of the consequences of rogue economics, a recurrent phenomenon in history, often linked to rapid and unexpected great transformations,” Loretta Napoleoni writes in Rogue Economics: Capitalism’s New Reality (Seven Stories Press, $27.50). “In the midst of profound changes, politics can lose control of economics, which becomes a rogue force in the hands of new entrepreneurs.”

In an April 8 interview in Vancouver, Napoleoni told the Georgia Straight that she thinks other analysts of world economic trends, such as the irredeemably optimistic Thomas Friedman of the New York Times and Columbia University’s more cautionary professor Joseph Stiglitz, wrote books about globalization before it was clear what was taking place. “You can’t analyze such an amazing change at the beginning,” Napoleoni said. “You have to sit there and watch how things are changing. We are living in perhaps the most exciting time in history because everything is changing.”

Her book explains how the transition from communism to globalization in the 1990s unleashed a brutal and corrupt form of capitalism that cannot be tamed by national governments. Rogue Economics shows how Russian oligarchs stripped the country of its resources, depositing their profits in safe banking havens. Entrepreneurs in China and other countries unleashed counterfeit medicines on the world, causing untold harm to human health. The Bulgarian Mafia recruited former athletes to act as enforcers, and sex slaves were exported from Eastern Europe. Criminal gangs control urban areas in Africa and the South American drug trade.

“The epicentre of the economic and financial world is moving eastward, which means the political epicentre will move eastward as well,” she said.

Napoleoni, an economist and former banker, suggested that the current U.S. subprime-mortgage market problems are another manifestation of rogue economics. She said that new opportunities arose through the use of derivatives, which are complex financial products that can be used as a hedge against risk. Investment bankers used derivatives to convert bad real-estate loans into products that could be sold to unsuspecting investors. When the borrowers—U.S. homeowners who probably shouldn’t have been in the market in the first place—couldn’t repay those mortgages, it triggered a financial crisis, battering the U.S. dollar.

“Politics could not predict this outcome,” Napoleoni said. “You may say that’s immoral for a bank to do that, but it’s not illegal.”

She emphasized that rogue economics flourishes in countries like China, where citizens don’t have the political power to rein in the behaviour of outlaw entrepreneurs. In the meantime, she predicted that the U.S. dollar will continue falling against other currencies because the country is less competitive in a world in which rogue economics thrives. Western corporations create goods in places like China. Those goods are often counterfeited, and she suggests in her book that this will harm the corporations’ futures.

Napoleoni said that the U.S. economy is currently experiencing “stagflation”, a combination of rising prices and no economic growth. “I think unemployment is going to skyrocket,” she said. “I think there is going to be
a depression.”

She also expects Chinese entrepreneurs to work more closely with the Muslim world, which is already occurring in Sudan. In the end, she anticipates that a new Islamic monetary system will emerge and that the dinar, pegged to the price of gold, will become the reserve currency of the world.

L.A. Mayor Villaraigosa warns ICE
to back off immigration raids

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is asking federal officials to rethink their policy on workplace immigration crackdowns that involve established businesses and to focus on employers that mistreat workers instead.

The mayor said in a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff that work-site raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement could have "severe and long-lasting effects" on the local economy, the Los Angeles Times reported Thursday.

ICE made more than 4,900 work-site arrests nationwide in fiscal 2007, a 45-fold increase over the number in 2001, authorities said.

More than 130 undocumented workers were arrested at a San Fernando Valley manufacturing company in February and over 60 workers were arrested for immigration violations at South Bay-area warehouses last week.

Los Angeles companies such as clothing manufacturer American Apparel Inc. have reported being questioned by ICE officials about their hiring procedures.

Villaraigosa accused federal officials of targeting "established, responsible employers" in industries that rely on "workforces that include undocumented immigrants."

"In these industries, including most areas of manufacturing, even the most scrupulous and responsible employers have no choice but to rely on workers whose documentation, while facially valid, may raise questions about their lawful presence," he wrote in the March 27 letter.

He said ICE should spend its limited resources

targeting employers who exploit wage and hour laws.
Chertoff has not responded to the mayor's letter, but Homeland Security spokeswoman Laura Keehner said the department believes its priorities are correct.

She said work-site investigations focus on national security and public safety and that the agency also investigates companies it believes may have committed visa fraud, money laundering, and other violations.

Mayoral spokesman Matt Szabo said Villaraigosa and Los Angeles business leaders hope to discuss their concerns with Chertoff in person next week during an annual business trip to Washington.

Bacteria-Eating Virus Approved as Food Additive

Not all viruses harm people. The Food and Drug Administration has approved a mixture of viruses as a food additive to protect people. The additive can be used in processing plants for spraying onto ready-to-eat meat and poultry products to protect consumers from the potentially life-threatening bacterium Listeria monocytogenes (L. monocytogenes).

The viruses used in the additive are known as bacteriophages. Bacteriophage means "bacteria eater." A bacteriophage, also called a phage (pronounced fayj), is any virus that infects bacteria.

Consuming food contaminated with the bacterium L. monocytogenes can cause an infectious disease, listeriosis, which is rarely serious in healthy adults and children, but can be severe and even deadly in pregnant women, newborns, older people, and people with weakened immune systems. Pregnant women are about 20 times more likely than other healthy adults to get listeriosis, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Listeriosis can cause miscarriage, stillbirth, premature delivery, or death of a newborn baby.

People with listeriosis have fever and muscle aches, and sometimes an upset stomach, nausea, and diarrhea. If the infection spreads to the nervous system, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, or convulsions can occur.

The CDC estimates that about 2,500 people become seriously ill with listeriosis each year in the United States. Of these, about 500 die.

Cooking can kill L. monocytogenes, but many ready-to-eat foods, such as hot dogs, sausages, luncheon meats, cold cuts, and other deli-style meats and poultry, may become contaminated within the processing plant after cooking and before packaging. Unlike fresh meat and poultry, the ready-to-eat products can be consumed without reheating, so the L. monocytogenes survive and are ingested.

"L. monocytogenescan continue to thrive even in refrigerated conditions," says Capt. Andrew Zajac, a food safety expert and acting director of the Division of Petition Review within the FDA's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN). "If a food product contaminated with L. monocytogenesis bought by a consumer and brought home and refrigerated, the bacteria can continue to multiply."

How Bacteriophages Work
Bacteriophages are found in the environment. "We're routinely exposed to bacteriophages," says Zajac. "They are found in soil and water, and they are part of the microbial population in the human gut and oral cavity."

Bacteriophages infect only bacteria, says Zajac. "They don't infect plant or mammalian cells." Thousands of varieties of phages exist, and each one infects only one type or a few types of bacteria. The particular phages approved as a food additive are very specific to Listeria, says Zajac. "They'll only thrive if Listeria are present."

The type of phage that was approved is lytic, which means that the phage destroys its host during its life cycle without integrating into the host genome. This type of phage works by attaching itself to a bacterium and injecting its genetic material into the cell. The phage takes over the metabolic machinery of the bacterium, forcing it to produce hundreds of new phages and causing the bacterial cell walls to break open. This process kills the bacterium and releases many new phages, which seek out other bacteria to invade and repeat the cycle.

"The process continues until all host bacteria have been destroyed," says Zajac. "Then the bacteriophages cease replicating. They need a host to multiply and will gradually become inactive when they lose the host."

Approval Process for Food Additives
To market a new food additive, a manufacturer must petition the FDA for its approval. The petition must provide convincing evidence that the proposed additive performs as it is intended and will not cause harmful effects when consumed.

If an additive is approved, the FDA issues a regulation that includes information on the types of foods in which the additive can be used and maximum amounts to be used. The regulation also provides the additive's identity and specifications on purity, which will ensure that the additive used in food is the same substance that was evaluated and approved by the FDA.

Once a food additive is approved, any company can use the additive, says Zajac, as long as it meets the conditions in the regulation.

In response to a petition submitted by industry, the FDA published a regulation in August 2006 permitting the use of a Listeria-specific bacteriophage preparation on ready-to-eat meat and poultry products.

The preparation combines six different phages that have been shown to be effective against 170 different strains of L. monocytogenes. Multiple phages are used so that if the L. monocytogenes develop resistance to several phages, the remaining ones can still destroy the bacteria.

The FDA must approve any additive before it can be used in food. When an additive is to be used on meat or poultry products, as with this one, both the FDA and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) are involved in the approval. The FDA evaluates the safety of the ingredient for its intended use. At the same time, the USDA evaluates the ingredient's suitability.

The FDA's food additive regulations define safety as "a reasonable certainty that the substance is not harmful under the intended conditions of use." The FDA's CFSAN determined that the phage preparation does not pose any safety concerns based, in part, on published reports submitted by the petitioner on the results of the use of phages in animal and human studies.

The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) evaluated the bacteriophage preparation's suitability. "Suitability establishes that the use of a substance is effective in performing the intended purpose of use and at the lowest level necessary for particular types of products," says Robert C. Post, Ph.D., director of the FSIS' Labeling and Consumer Protection Staff. In addition, suitability is an assurance that the use of the additive will not result in a product that is unfit for human consumption (adulterated) or one that misleads consumers. Consumers would be misled if, for example, the additive makes a product "appear to be a better value than it actually is or it masks spoilage," says Post.

The FSIS evaluated data submitted by the petitioner to ensure suitability for a number of ready-to-eat products, such as sausages, turkey, soups, stews, hot dogs, bologna, Vienna sausage, and cooked ham and turkey.

Labeling
Under the Federal Meat Inspection Act and the Poultry Products Inspection Act, both administered by the USDA, the use of the phage preparation must be declared on labeling as an ingredient. Consumers will see "bacteriophage preparation" on the label of meat or poultry products that have been treated with the food additive.

If consumers have any concerns about what they're getting at the deli counter, says Post, "they always have the ability to ask for the label of the product being prepared or sliced to see what it contains."

A Phage First
This approval marks the first time that the FDA has regulated the use of a phage preparation as a food additive. Phages are currently approved in the United States for pesticide applications, such as spraying on crops.

Scientists continue to be interested in other uses for phages, such as to prevent food products from contamination with other types of harmful bacteria and to act as possible treatments for bacterial infections in people.

Highly placed sources said a handful of top advisers signed off on how the CIA would interrogate top al Qaeda suspects -- whether they would be slapped, pushed, deprived of sleep or subjected to simulated drowning, called waterboarding.

The high-level discussions about these "enhanced interrogation techniques" were so detailed, these sources said, some of the interrogation sessions were almost choreographed -- down to the number of times CIA agents could use a specific tactic.

The advisers were members of the National Security Council's Principals Committee, a select group of senior officials who met frequently to advise President Bush on issues of national security policy.

At the time, the Principals Committee included Vice President Cheney, former National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Secretary of State Colin Powell, as well as CIA Director George Tenet and Attorney General John Ashcroft.

As the national security adviser, Rice chaired the meetings, which took place in the White House Situation Room and were typically attended by most of the principals or their deputies.
What you see above is one of the techniques used at Abu Ghraib, one of the mildest forms of "enhanced interrogation". It was approved by these principals - all along the line to waterboarding. If you ever believed that these kinds of tactics were "improvised" by people at the lowest level of the chain of command and managed to "shock" the president and his senior aides, when they were revealed, then you need to read this story:

According to a top official, Ashcroft asked aloud after one meeting: "Why are we talking about this in the White House? History will not judge this kindly."

The Principals also approved interrogations that combined different methods, pushing the limits of international law and even the Justice Department's own legal approval in the 2002 memo, sources told ABC News.

At one meeting in the summer of 2003 -- attended by Vice President Cheney, among others -- Tenet made an elaborate presentation for approval to combine several different techniques during interrogations, instead of using one method at a time, according to a highly placed administration source.
Now absorb the fact that many of these techniques, including the one above, were explicitly and in detail, approved by the highest officers in the land. Including Condi Rice. She did so even after Abu Ghraib was known about and after Jack Goldsmith had withdrawn the OLC's "legal" sanction.

Germany cancels plans to add ethanol to petrol

Berlin - Amid growing fears that biofuel farming is harming the environment and driving up world food prices, Germany cancelled on Friday plans to mix more ethanol made from plants with petrol. Environment Minister Sigmar Gabriel said the decision was taken because 10 per cent ethanol in petrol would rot the hoses and gaskets of millions of auto engines. But he said an order for diesel fuel to contain 7 per cent ethanol remained in place.

Gabriel rejected accusations of blundering and cast blame on car manufacturers for not telling him in time that 3 million engines were vulnerable if the current ethanol supplements were increased.

He said he refused to force millions of German motorists to buy a more expensive, ethanol-free grade of petrol.

At a news conference, he acknowledged the wider criticism of ethanol, saying, "It's now being asked if producing ethanol actually causes more damage to the climate than the fuel it is meant to replace."

The change of mind over petrol means Germany must reduce its overall 2009 target for biofuel addition to motor spirits from 6.25 per cent to 5 per cent, as measured by by energy yield, Gabriel said.

But he insisted a European Union target of 10 per cent overall by 2020 remained achievable. The conversion to ethanol had been hailed as an indirect way of reducing Europe's carbon-dioxide emissions.

There has been a storm of criticism of Gabriel, a Social Democrat, since he foreshadowed the climbdown on Wednesday. Opponents said he ought to have known much sooner about the ethanol problems.

Biofuel plans are under attack round the world because of forest clearances and because of the recent run-up in world grain prices. India banned rice exports Monday in response to the shortage.

Economists say the diversion of land to fuel growing is reducing the world's potential to grow food at a time when grain demand in Asia is soaring.

Finger-pointers are dealt with in many ways. Some are simply written off as imagining official bureaus are corrupt. Their protests are blocked as having no basis. Or, that they are paranoid, and require medical if not psychiatric attention. Or, that they are just malcontents, and should be ignored.

If a real reformer shows up, they are sent away with empty promises of correction. If judges are identified as corrupt and bribe-takers, the would-be crusader is barred from the courthouse as a "security risk". If that does not end the agitation for redress of grievances---well, the judges could certainly reach into their cauldron of powers and pull up, from the mists and vapors of antiquity, invoking thus the judge-created offense of "contempt of court". That would certainly preclude the tribunal from having to hear "trouble-makers".

If demands for government reform or improvement persist, the "powers that be", the Establishment, the Ruling Class---in short THEM---could concoct a frame-up. After all, a few per cent of those in prison are innocent but actually political prisoners. Others there may just need hospital attention.

A group of researchers and investigators assisted in the details of a proceeding to bring out Fraud Upon the Courts, perpetrated by the Judges themselves upon their own Court. Among others implicated are judges on the U.S. Supreme Court and one-step below them, all the judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals, 7th Circuit, headquartered in Chicago. Some acted under a malign, if not corrupt, influence in respect to blockading mammoth claims against a major firm, Coca-Cola Company. There are many details. Such as apparent "leakage" into non-legal channels within the U.S. of cocaine, a by-product of the processing of coca leaves to make the secret base for Coca-Cola. So you thought all the clandestine cocaine was smuggled in from Columbia and such? Such as, implicated is George Herbert Walker Bush. Such as, an overlap of corrupting the Five-Judge majority on the U.S. Supreme Court, in the Bush versus Gore litigation, arbitrarily installing George W. Bush as the occupant and resident of the White House.

And, that those who seek to publicly condemn the depraved jurists as corrupt, are also accused of supervising a band of ruffians. Doing what? Why, harassing "liars and whores of the press", that is, shoving around newsfakers who cover up for the Bush Crime Family. Does this include Washington Post hotshot Bob Woodward, whose late father was a highly corrupt Chicago-area Chief Judge? Little-known, that Du Page County Chief Judge Alfred Woodward, in an unpublicized case, arbitrarily awarded millions and millions of dollars from an insurance fraud case to Nixon White House Watergate Figures (the little-mentioned Equity Funding case of the 1970s---we have the files to prove it. And more, Chief Judge Woodward, like his son Bob, was a key figure in the espionage Establishment).

And who is accused, apparently by the Bush Justice Department, of financing these "domestic terrorists"? Why, Albert Gore, Jr., considered by some, if not many, as the duly elected President NOT INAUGURATED. Planned reportedly by the federal prosecutors is to rely on the Patriots Act, which has cancelled many of the guarantees of the Bill of Rights.

Additional Bush Justice Department federal criminal charges reportedly contend that aiding and abetting this "interference" with American high-level judges and media honchos, is a Canadian broadcaster who on a major show, known as a "blow torch" radio facility(maximum power station), broadcast from Toronto and also carried ON-LINE, supposedly foments related sedition directed against the current U.S. regime.

Will the whistle-blowers be dealt with in a Kangaroo Court. And then, sent away to an American Gulag?

The big news at the recent NATO meeting in Romania is that Croatia and Albania are now happy members of the family of peace-loving nations conducting a brutal war in Afghanistan . The bad news is that Ukraine, Georgia and Macedonia didn't get the green light, with Russian and Greek revanchism the culprit - clearly a great setback to the cause of world peace.
US President George W Bush wanted to "lay down a marker" for his legacy, and not "lose faith" with the Ukrainian and Georgian peoples and all those other juicy ex-Soviet tid-bits, so he threw the usual stage-managed NATO script to the winds, ignoring a behind-the-scenes deal with Germany and France to try to slip their application in next year - NATO's 60th anniversary - when Russia isn't looking, and loudly demanded they be allowed to join.

"It would send a signal throughout the region that these two nations are, and will remain, sovereign and independent states," he opined. So, by implication, at present they are not? Is independence something that is reserved for this Skull and Bones fraternity? There is certainly no love lost between Chancellor Angela Merkel, President Nicolas Sarkozy and President Vladimir Putin, but Germany and France have no interest in provoking Russia , something that the US seems to take delight in doing these days. And it's not only the two biggies; Spain , Italy among others have also had enough.

Wolfgang Ischinger, the German ambassador to London , stated the obvious: a so-called Membership Action Plan (MAP) offer to a divided Ukraine could destabilise the new government there, and not enough diplomacy had taken place beforehand with Russia . German Marshall Fund Director Ronald Asmus said that Bush leaves "a legacy of divisiveness" over Ukraine and Georgia . "It was a classic example of bad diplomacy - waiting too long to decide, then going public and then trying to roll people, and only getting half a loaf." As for Greece vetoing Macedonia , he said, "Only Washington could have taken Greece to the woodshed on this issue, and it didn't do so."

No one even bothered to comment on the explosive situation that would result from offering Georgia a MAP. Such a made-in-USA "roadmap" would be sure to lead right over a political cliff. As a hint of how dangerous some of the new drivers in the "Atlantic" alliance are, Georgian Foreign Minister David Bakradze said, "A no for Georgia will show those people in the Kremlin that by a policy of blackmail, arrogance and aggression, they can influence NATO decisions." Referring to a speech by Putin at a Munich peace conference last year warning about US warmongering, Hungarian political analyst Istvan Gyarmati said Putin "will say that the policy of brutality we started in Munich has worked. This is the result of a Western appeasement policy and the Russians will be extremely proud of it." So, Putin is by implication the new Hitler? Will someone please rescind this guy's Learner's Permit?

The other huge bone of contention is of course the US missile bases in the Czech Republic and Poland . Bush got a NATO endorsement for this bald provocation of Russia , something presumably should have been done long ago. During a conference organised on the sidelines of the NATO summit by the German US Marshall Fund, Konstantin Kosachev, chairman of the international affairs committee of the Russian Duma, said, "we still do not have a proper explanation of this project. It is not about the number of interceptors. It is about undermining mutual confidence and trust." "NATO cannot guarantee its security at the expense of other countries' security," Putin said, complaining that some NATO members "went as far as total demonisation of Russia and can't get away from this even now."

Poland is still negotiating with the US over the terms for deploying 10 interceptors. "We are not close to a final agreement," said Bogdan Klich , Poland 's defence minister. "It is difficult to predict the conclusion of talks with the Americans." Clearly sensing the US can't afford to backdown and seeing the chance for a huge financial windfall, Prime Minister Donald Tusk has insisted on security guarantees from the US including new air defences as well as US financing and protection of the system. The Czech Republic foolishly only asked that its defence companies be involved in building the system and that its scientists and security officials get US training.

The promise by France to boost troop numbers in Afghanistan did not include a commitment to put them in the line of fire alongside the Canadians in Kandahar . Sarkozy did manage to bury General de Gaulle's legacy of keeping aloof from NATO's command structure. "Let Europe 's defence pole advance and we will continue to advance towards NATO," he huffed. "I repeat, these are two things that go together." Just why Europe needs three levels of defence - national, European and NATO - is not clear. Nor why all defence concerns among these supposedly peace-loving nations can't be fulfilled through, say, the United Nations.

This makes two failed NATO conferences in a row, after the February shouting match in Lithuania which, along with Romania , is one of the lucky new members of this "Atlantic" alliance. And the bases are very much a case of the US cutting off its nose to spite its face. Putin has made it clear numerous times that Moscow wants to cooperate with NATO on joint security problems like Afghanistan and terrorism. But then the stated reason to invade Afghanistan was to catch Osama bin Laden, which has been shown to hold as much water as US claims of invading Iraq to find WMDs. So it is safe to conclude that the machinations to expand this very un-Atlantic organisation and to install US missiles in eastern Europe is more smoke and mirrors.

This was Putin's first visit to a NATO summit meeting as Russia 's president, and his last, and he was treated with kid gloves and even praised by purported foes. An American official noted that Putin's opening and closing remarks - which were not broadcast, in favour of Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko's - were "very classy". Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Ángel Moratinos said that Putin "showed a willingness for dialogue", that Russia would be willing to return to the Conventional Armed Forces in Europe treaty if Western nations were willing to compromise on the treaty limits. Explaining Germany 's veto of Ukraine and Georgia 's MAPs, Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said that after Russian anger over Kosovo's independence, "we could see no convincing reason to create more tension.

There seems little chance that Ukraine or Georgia will ever join this club of Atlantic peaceniks. It's far more likely that it will first collapse under the weight of its many contradictions. But whatever the outcome of the Polish missile deal, it must be observed that Russia 's checkered relations with the Poles, Czechs, Hungarians, Lithuanians et al, and their collective long-term love affair with things American are continuing to haunt Russia . So far, rational voices are few and far between, but the light of day continues to shine every 24 hours. For the present, that, and Russia 's new-found vigour, will have to be our beacon.

'WAR' operates on as many levels as there are areas within the possibilities for life and prosperity. It is the ultimate semi- chaos that has been used since people first began to forge bonds of commonality, in order to live more fully in the world. WAR today has become a massive lie, because it is no longer something necessary for survival: Instead it is currently being used as an offensive weapon in order to steal and corrupt what took most of humanity thousands of years to create, which was a viable world, amid the random chaos of everyday life.

Americans have lost the ability to understand the world we have become parasites upon. Most of us know nothing of real work, or of real hunger, or of those privations that can turn any people back into uncommunicative and primitive herds of bodies no longer capable of detecting that, which is most dangerous to their very existence.

Animals in the wild understand the relationship between what threatens their lives and what they must do to change that. Americans do not! Primitive natives without a written language intuitively understand the reality of major threats to their existences and respond immediately to such threats, apparently we do not. Americans have grown fat and crafty, in direct proportion to the degree that we have become cynical and greedy, and when that happens in any species: that life-form comes to an abrupt and permanent end, because that is the way that nature corrects her mistakes.

Mossad proudly says: "By Deception Thou Shalt Do War." The CIA says: "Know the Truth and the Truth Shall Set You Free," but that's a Lie! The New (Old) World Order that actually governs both those organizations has no written phrase to describe their operations, but if they did it would be: "By Omission and Misdirection We Shall Rule."
The USA for its part has used the media and all the communications networks that it both owns and controls, to omit or to re-write, the real history that might get in the way of their plans for total global-domination. In all three of these cases the public has chosen not to pay any attention to these very real threats to our existence: but have chosen instead to try and find ways to participate in the profits from these criminal enterprises, up to and including WAR!

Language itself, in the form of Doublespeak, has been the most successful tool among all the various doctrines that are being used against the people of the world. The religions, the races, the genders and the very many classes within every society have each and all been pitted, one against the other, until most people have been isolated by these invasions of our once integrated way of life. The planet is going backwards because we have forgotten history and because the newer generations have no real interest in knowing much beyond whatever happened just last week. This has been a result of decades of Shock & Awe that have been employed in every area of human life, from finance and health, to jobs and dreams, all the way down to love and war. (1)

WAR is not a movie. This third time round; WAR is being used as a shortcut to unimaginable physical wealth, in the total absence of morality, of reason, or of the long-term survival of either the human race or of the planet. In response to this, Forbes magazine has stopped tracking the number of Millionaires, because now only Billionaires are worth counting. Meanwhile food riots are beginning to spread around the world, or at least to those failed countries where their economies are pegged to the US dollar. (2)

However the crux of this American-disease is based on having allowed every crucial aspect of our lives to have been murdered right in front of us. We've lost 280,000 jobs since the beginning of the year, and yet the border is now more wide open than ever, despite the illegal 'wall' that has been ordered. The value of our money, our property, and virtually everything we seek to do has been downgraded to 'junk bond' status, yet we do not even publicly complain: At least the third world has the sense to call for nationwide strikes-yet we remain conspicuously silent! The Constitution attempted to include the tools we would need to stay free of a potentially corrupted US government. "the second amendment was put in the bill of rights to give Americans the ability to rise up against a tyrannical government."

Everyone in this government that has the responsibility "to act" has already failed. We may not talk about it but we know that the American system of "Just-Us" is too corrupted to work; too focused on 'playing the game' to bother with the huge number of those that are being left behind as just more "road-kill" on the way to Empire. Our 'resident' in the White House comes from a long line of Nazi's, that remain unpunished for their war-crimes going back to well before WWII and yet this seemingly bothers no one enough to actually alter voting patterns or even public opinions! (3)

We've also been destitute since Lyndon Baines Johnson converted our "money" into worthless paper, by removing any real backing for its actual worth, back in 1968.

Everyone who works for a living has been cheated out of everything they have theoretically worked for since that day. Explaining this charade was my self-appointed task in the first graphic war on this criminal-enterprise that has masqueraded as "our" government, since "The State of the Nation - 1966" (4)

We have arrived at the edge of that precipice that overlooks what appears to be the unimaginable destruction of all that we have spent thousands of years trying to create. The solution to WAR has many forms, but each one of those ideas must begin with each person that is determined to bring an end to all of this!

We are well behind the curve and we have been chewed and bitten, slashed and burned, by every huckster, every criminal and politician that we've allowed to go on working since the day that each of us knew for certain that he or she was as crooked as the day is long. The issue comes down to 'whose country is this anyhow'! If it's your country then the government works for you. If it's not then you are at the beck and call of whatever has been assigned to tell you what you must do, during every hour of your life.

If you think you can live with that, either because you are immune from all of this, or because you think this whole thing is just another conspiracy theory-then you will soon find that you could not have been more wrong; except that by then you'll either be a prisoner or just another death that isn't counted. The choice is yours!

Bible Is Hate Says
US Government

In its recent report to Congress, the U.S. State Department "Office of Global Anti-Semitism" makes a startling policy statement. It says the New Testament record that the Jews had Christ crucified is "classical anti-Semitism" -- a historic form of hate. 1
In its 2005 report to Congress, the State Department included as an "anti-Semitic incident" the case of a Polish priest who said Jews killed Christ. Today, three years later, the State Department could not be clearer.

Are you one of tens of millions of Christians who agree with Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ that evil Jewish leaders incited a Jewish mob and persuaded Pilate to have Christ crucified? The U.S. government now considers you "anti-Semitic." You are part of a worldwide scourge the U.S. government, Canada, Australia, and 55 European nations are uniting to suppress. 2
In the many countries now ruled by hate laws, it is already a federal offense to repeat the claim of New Testament "hate literature" that the Jews had Christ crucified. 3 The State Department's equation of Biblical Christianity with "hate" is an ominous indication. The Jewish Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith ­ architect of hate laws worldwide (and primary ideological and statistics-gathering force behind the Office of Global Anti-Semitism) -- is moving rapidly to create bias against Christians as haters, particularly of Jews and homosexuals.
Despite passionate support of Israel by evangelicals, ADL claims Christianity is inherently anti-Semitic. ADL says the New Testament is the seedbed of suspicion and blame against Jews leading to the Holocaust of WW II. 3 Televangelist John Hagee, recipient of numerous ADL/B'nai B'rith awards, upholds ADL propaganda. He preaches that Jews did not reject or kill Christ, do not have to accept Him, and that New Testament Christianity is a primary source of anti-Semitism throughout the ages. 4
As Jewish-dominated media increasingly persuades the public and government to agree with this stereotype, it will become easier to pass Christian-restricting hate crimes laws. 5 All who adhere to the Bible on homosexuality or Jewish complicity in Christ's death could be subject to state-sponsored prosecution.
Bible believers aren't the only ones at risk. The State Department report also says it is anti-Semitic to:

1. Allege "intentionally or unintentionally" that the state of Israel persecutes Palestinians.
2. Criticize "intentionally or unintentionally" Zionism or Israel if such criticism leads to lowering of the public opinion of Jews or the government, military, or people of Israel (p. 33).
3. Compare the behavior of Israel's leaders and military (in suppression of Palestinians) to Nazis (p. 22).
4. Publish cartoons depicting the Israeli government and military as similar to Nazis.
5. Diminish the 6-million figure of Holocaust dead in any amount.
6. Question that gas chambers were the primary means of killing 6 million Jews (p.22).
7. Allege that Jews exert undue influence in Congress and the White House.
8. Allege that Jews exert undue influence in the media.
9. Claim there exists a "Jewish conspiracy" to dominate society (p.19).
10. Allege that American Jews are equally loyal to Israel (p.19).
11. Deny the people of Israel their "right of self-determination." This means upholding Biblical law that the Jewish people cannot reoccupy Palestine in unrighteousness. This also means denying them occupation through illegal settlements of all the territory promised to Abraham.
12. Reveal hostility (as Christ did) toward Talmudic (pharisaic) Judaism.

The State Department warns against "unintentional" anti-Semitism (i.e. criticism of Israel, or making known unpleasant facts about Judaism). These acts might not be meant to stimulate anti-Semitism, but do. The moral? Be safe; don't criticize Israel or matters Jewish at all. Evil people might twist legitimate facts to hateful ends.
Clearly, an office of the U.S. State Department has been created by the Anti-Defamation League, at taxpayer expense, as a propaganda oracle of its own anti-Christian "hate crimes agenda." Congress unanimously created this office of thought crimes disinformation in 2004. Cast your vote to end its influence: call your Senators and Representative. Call toll-free at 1-877-851-6437. Tell them: "Please revoke funding for the State Department's Office of Global Anti-Semitism. It does not represent scholarly research but the anti-Christian biases of the Anti-Defamation League."

Lust for Power

It is obvious that ADL/ B'nai B'rith, Israel, and international Zionism are demanding a place of freedom from constructive criticism. Americans do not give such to our government, politicians, or military. Yet the Jewish-dominated Department of Global Anti-Semitism expects us to give it to a foreign government, Israel.

What does freedom from criticism for Jews and Israel really mean? It is not compassion, or compensation for centuries of Jewish suffering. It is not real security for Israel.

Freedom from criticism is what the Neros, Napoleons, Hitlers and Stalins of history were similarly obsessed to obtain ­ at the price of others' freedom.

It's called dictatorship.

Government sued after approving 4 pesticides

Environmental and farmworker advocates have sued the Bush administration for allowing the continued use of four pesticides, saying the government brushed aside its own findings that the chemicals are dangerous to workers, children and wildlife.

The suit, filed Friday in U.S. District Court in San Francisco, challenged the Environmental Protection Agency's decision in 2006 to reauthorize the four pesticides sprayed on fruit and vegetable fields in California.

A 1996 federal law required the EPA to reassess the safety of all pesticides used on foods and decide by 2006 whether to approve their use. Patti Goldman, a lawyer for the plaintiffs in the lawsuit, said the agency found that four substances posed risks to human health but concluded their cost savings to growers outweighed the dangers.

"These four pesticides put thousands of farmworkers and their families at risk of serious illness every year," said Goldman, of the nonprofit firm Earthjustice.

EPA spokesman Tim Lyons said the agency would review the lawsuit and respond in court. Lyons declined to comment on the EPA's decision to approve the pesticides, but said, "Our mission is to protect the environment and human health."

California officials have classified one of the pesticides, ethoprop, as a cancer-causing substance. The state requires manufacturers to disclose that risk on product labels but cannot ban the pesticide because of the EPA approval. The suit said the pesticide, used mainly on potatoes, sugarcane and tobacco, has been linked to fish kills and has also drifted from fields into rural communities.

Another substance, methidathion, was listed as an air contaminant by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation earlier this year because of potential health hazards. It is used on artichokes, oranges, almonds, peaches and olives, mostly in California.

The other two pesticides are methamidophos, used mostly on potatoes and cotton, and oxydemeton-methyl, used on broccoli, lettuce, cauliflower, corn, cabbage and Brussels sprouts. The suit said both have been associated with bird kills. Methamidophos has been banned or severely restricted in several countries, and oxydemeton-methyl is linked to birth defects, according to the suit.

"We're relying on EPA's findings that the risks were too high," said Goldman, the plaintiffs' lawyer.

She said federal law allows the agency to approve continued use of risky pesticides based on offsetting benefits, including cost savings. But Goldman said the EPA failed to address the particular danger each pesticide poses to children, or to take adequate account of the potential harms to birds and fish as well as farmworkers.

The suit seeks a court order requiring the agency to re-evaluate the pesticides. Plaintiffs include the United Farm Workers, the Teamsters, Pesticide Action Network North America, Beyond Pesticides and the Natural Resources Defense Council.
