WSJ Article Says To Stockpile Food

I don't want to alarm anybody, but maybe it's time for Americans to start stockpiling food.

No, this is not a drill.

You've seen the TV footage of food riots in parts of the developing world. Yes, they're a long way away from the U.S. But most foodstuffs operate in a global market. When the cost of wheat soars in Asia, it will do the same here.

Reality: Food prices are already rising here much faster than the returns you are likely to get from keeping your money in a bank or money-market fund. And there are very good reasons to believe prices on the shelves are about to start rising a lot faster.

"Load up the pantry," says Manu Daftary, one of Wall Street's top investors and the manager of the Quaker Strategic Growth mutual fund. "I think prices are going higher. People are too complacent. They think it isn't going to happen here. But I don't know how the food companies can absorb higher costs." (Full disclosure: I am an investor in Quaker Strategic)

Stocking up on food may not replace your long-term investments, but it may make a sensible home for some of your shorter-term cash. Do the math. If you keep your standby cash in a money-market fund you'll be lucky to get a 2.5% interest rate. Even the best one-year certificate of deposit you can find is only going to pay you about 4.1%, according to Bankrate.com. And those yields are before tax.

Meanwhile the most recent government data shows food inflation for the average American household is now running at 4.5% a year.

And some prices are rising even more quickly. The latest data show cereal prices rising by more than 8% a year. Both flour and rice are up more than 13%. Milk, cheese, bananas and even peanut butter: They're all up by more than 10%. Eggs have rocketed up 30% in a year. Ground beef prices are up 4.8% and chicken by 5.4%.

These are trends that have been in place for some time.

And if you are hoping they will pass, here's the bad news: They may actually accelerate.

The reason? The prices of many underlying raw materials have risen much more quickly still. Wheat prices, for example, have roughly tripled in the past three years.

Sooner or later, the food companies are going to have to pass those costs on. Kraft saw its raw material costs soar by about $1.25 billion last year, squeezing profit margins. The company recently warned that higher prices are here to stay. Last month the chief executive of General Mills, Kendall Powell, made a similar point.

The main reason for rising prices, of course, is the surge in demand from China and India. Hundreds of millions of people are joining the middle class each year, and that means they want to eat more and better food.

A secondary reason has been the growing demand for ethanol as a fuel additive. That's soaking up some of the corn supply.

You can't easily stock up on perishables like eggs or milk. But other products will keep. Among them: Dried pasta, rice, cereals, and cans of everything from tuna fish to fruit and vegetables. The kicker: You should also save money by buying them in bulk.

If this seems a stretch, ponder this: The emerging bull market in agricultural products is following in the footsteps of oil. A few years ago, many Americans hoped $2 gas was a temporary spike. Now it's the rosy memory of a bygone age.

The good news is that it's easier to store Cap'n Crunch or cans of Starkist in your home than it is to store lots of gasoline. Safer, too.

MLB Bans Water From Dugouts

What's this? Athletes can't drink water? Even in the humid Chicago summers?

Here's the explanation I got:

Gatorade is Major League Baseball's "official sports drink." So instructions were sent that no player could be seen drinking anything but Gatorade in the dugout. Not even Aquafina, which is the "official water" of MLB. Not even bottles of water with the labels removed.

White Sox clubhouse personnel said if players take bottled water onto the bench, all the bottled water will be removed from the clubhouse as punishment.

So remember, the biggest threat to baseball isn't steroids or HGH or amphetamines or runaway ticket prices or four-hour games.

It's water.

Darthvader Police Unleashed In NYC Subways

More protection against terrorists is coming to a subway station near you. Starting Thursday, special bomb teams - "Torch Teams" - will be toting submachine guns and bringing bomb-sniffing dogs onto the platforms and into the trains. CBS 2 was out first thing Thursday morning on the lookout for these significant security measure improvements.

It's a first for mass transit in the United States. NYPD officers, armed with rifles, submachine guns, body armor and bomb sniffing dogs will begin patrolling the city's subway system thanks to a 50 percent increase in a homeland security grant.

The city's massive subway system has long been considered a potential terror target; six officers and a dog will constitute a team, patrolling all platforms and trains in 12-hour shifts. The "Torch Teams" will be toting MP5 submachine guns that are used by Navy seals and FBI hostage-rescue teams. The teams are being paid for by $151 million from the Feds.

Similarly equipped NYPD units, known as "Hercules Teams," have patrolled Wall Street, the Empire State building and other aboveground city landmarks for years as a response to the World Trade Center attacks.

A police official likened the "Torch Teams" to "Hercules Teams" with metro cards. In this age of heightened security, commuters and keen canines will share the underground world of mass transit.

Come November, it does not matter who “wins” the White House, the lot of the average American will be the same no matter if Obama, Clinton, or McCain sit in the White House. And that lot will be one of increasing misery as the late, great United States is converted into a slave labor gulag, little different than China.

McCain told the commoners of Youngstown, Ohio, as much yesterday. “Republican John McCain made a risky argument in a hard-hit Ohio steel town yesterday, telling residents that free trade can help solve their problems,” reports the Boston Globe. “That is a tough sell in communities that have hemorrhaged jobs as manufacturing moved overseas and cheap imports flooded the market. But McCain insisted that free trade is the solution and not the cause.”

See, the problem is the little people resist “free trade,” as in a free hand for multinational corporations to loot the third world and now the first world, soon to be a third world nation. “The biggest problem is not so much what’s happened with free trade, but our inability to adjust to a new world economy,” McCain said during a town hall-style meeting at Youngstown State University. “So we want people to be part of that revolution, and we’ve got to be part of that new economy, rather than try to cling to an old economy.”

In other words, adjust to increasing poverty and diminishment of opportunity. It is, after all, a “revolution,” never mind a greedy revolution of the bankers and multinat CEOs who are determined to “level the playing field” here in the United States. After all, as fed gangster Greenspan declared, the average American makes too much money. He and she will soon be on par with the average Chinese and Indian slave, toiling for a couple bucks a day, if that. McCain simply wants you to accept your fate. It’s part of the “New Economy” and you have no choice but to assimilate.

The presumptive GOP nominee, on a weeklong tour of “forgotten” places where people are struggling with poverty and job losses, made a stop at a shuttered steel fabricating plant and criticized Democrats Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama for saying, when they campaigned in the Ohio primary last month, that they would renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Hand it to McCain for his honesty. NAFTA and its bastard children are not going anywhere, regardless of what the liars Clinton and Obama say. Get used to ever increasing poverty. Get ready for food riots like they have in Haiti and Egypt. Get ready to be a peasant. Get ready for the New Feudalism.

For McCain and his globalist handlers, this is a “revolution,” albeit a revolution of misery. Get on the platform, the train is leaving.

New Home Sales Lowest In 16 1/2 Years

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Sales of new homes plunged in March to the lowest level in 16 1/2 years as housing slumped further at the start of the spring sales season.

The median price of a new home in March, compared with a year ago, fell by the largest amount in nearly four decades.

The Commerce Department reported Thursday that sales of new homes dropped by 8.5 percent last month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 526,000 units, the slowest sales pace since October 1991.

The median price of a home sold in March dropped by 13.3 percent compared with March 2007, the biggest year-over-year price decline since a 14.6 percent plunge in July 1970.

The dismal news on new home sales followed earlier reports showing sales of existing homes fell by 2 percent in March. Housing, which boomed for five years, has been in a prolonged slump for the past two years with sales and home prices falling at especially sharp rates in formerly boom areas of the country.

For March, sales were down in all regions of the country, dropping the most in the Northeast, a decline of 19.4 percent. Sales fell by 12.9 percent in the West, 12.5 percent in the Midwest and 4.6 percent in the South.

In other economic news, orders to factories for big-ticket manufactured goods fell for a third straight month in March, the longest string of declines since the 2001 recession, while applications for unemployment benefits fell by 33,000 to 342,000.

The Commerce Department said demand for durable goods dropped by 0.3 percent last month, a worse-than-expected performance that underscored the problems manufacturers are facing from a severe economic slowdown. The last time orders fell for three consecutive months was from February to April of 2001, when the country was sliding into the last recession.

The weakness in manufacturing orders was led by a 4.6 percent drop in orders for autos, a sector hard hit by soaring gasoline prices, and the weakening economy, which have cut sharply into car sales. Orders in the category that includes home appliances fell by 6.6 percent. This industry has been hurt by the two-year slump in home sales.

President Bush said Tuesday that the economy was not in a recession but a period of slower growth. However, economists who believe the country has fallen into a recession pointed to the string of declines in manufacturing orders to support their view.

"The broad swath of data in the March (orders) report is indicative of a mixed set of conditions in a factory sector that is, overall, in a mild recession," said Cliff Waldman, economist for the Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI.

The Labor Department reported that claims for unemployment benefits fell by 33,000 last week to 342,000. Economists had been expecting claims to rise by 3,000. The four-week moving average for claims fell by 7,250 to 369,500.

Even with the improvements, analysts said the weak economy is still putting greater pressures on the labor market. The unemployment rate climbed to 5.1 percent in March as businesses laid off the largest number of workers in five years.

Economic growth slowed to a near-standstill at the end of last year as the economy was battered by the prolonged slump in housing and a severe credit crunch that has resulted in billions of dollars of losses at many of the nation's largest financial institutions and has made it harder for consumers and businesses to get loans.

Consumer sentiment, meanwhile, has plunged to recessionary lows as Americans have also watched gasoline soar to an average price above $3.50 per gallon nationally.

The 0.3 percent drop in orders for durable goods, items expected to last at least three years, followed even bigger declines of 0.9 percent in February and 4.4 percent in January.

Orders for all transportation products fell by 4.6 percent, reflecting the big drop in demand for autos. Orders for commercial aircraft actually rose by 5.5 percent while demand for defense aircraft surged by 29.4 percent. Many defense industries have seen big increases reflecting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

A key category viewed as a proxy for business investment plans showed no increase in March after a big 2 percent drop in February. Businesses have cut back on plans to expand and modernize as the economy has softened.

It’s the growing demand for protein in formerly poor countries. It’s the business cycle. It’s poor planning and the “just-in-time” food delivery chain that has collapsed on account of rising fuel costs. It’s all these things, you think, and more.

They’ll give you a thousand different reasons why entire societies, especially in Haiti and Africa, are now living on clay-patties mixed with oil and dusted sugar. The mainstream media will garnish you with the answers you can sleep with. Nothing to do with Pharisaic money-market speculators. It’s basic economics, pure and simple. Natural shortages. Problem solved: go to sleep.

But take a look at your own grocery bill. Seems rather at variance with what you were paying just six months ago, doesn’t it? You’re not yet ready to riot, as they have been doing in Senegal, Indonesia, Thailand, Mexico, Peru, Haiti, Nigeria, India, Malaysia, Argentina, Columbia and Brazil. But you’re concerned. And someone, somewhere, wants you to take that concern to bed with you and sleep on it even more.

It worries you. And they feed of off your fear. It’s their nourishment.

However, step out of the Jewish Control Matrix and look around you, wherever you are. Do you not see that God has supplied all of our needs in abundance, with much more to spare? Where apparent “shortages” exist, we all have the collective ability to relieve the worst effects of suffering wherever it is to be found. We are all made in the image of God, and if we reflect on that image, what we see are endless possibilities rather than artificial limitations. Do you not doubt for one moment that the providence of this wonderful planet upon which we live can supply a hundredfold the needs of billions more human beings than we have in the world today?

It is one of the great tragedies of the human species that not only are we so few in numbers (a mere 6.5 billion beautiful human beings), but that we seem unable to withstand the endless trauma-based abuse inflicted upon us by an evil and occult elite of Judeo-Masonic cabbalists. These people, whether Jews, Zionists or Freemasons (collectively known as Satanists) have for centuries dedicated their efforts toward the depopulation of the “Goyim” (non-Jewish people) in an attempt to thwart God’s plan for the full realisation of our potential to reach the stars and beyond. And their agenda is clearly spelled out in the Georgia Guidestones, The Talmud and the Protocols of Zion, the latter of which is a composite rendition of a manifesto written by the “Elders” of World Jewry, an authentic document that has semantically defied all attempts to disprove its authenticity.

The mainstream media will always give you a sound and “rational” reason for a calamity somehow beyond the best exigent thinking of our “ever caring” political elites. A G8 summit meeting of the world’s satanic prefects has been convened to discuss the problem of global starvation. Or the imperialistic strangulation of Russia and China and a concomitant fake Tibetan revolution in the name of the demonic Dalai Lama, a deceitfully charming CIA asset in a pink girlie blouse. Or Monsanto’s Kissingerian drive toward universal food crop monopolies and demand-destruction in the name of the “global warming” hoax. Or state-financed organised terrorism to keep us all in a state of fear, running to our “caring” governments for protection from the people they trained to kill us. Or the outsourcing of jobs and manufacturing industries to deliberately impoverished nations grateful for the Jewish shekel and other acts of usurious sodomy. No, let’s not mention these breaches in conversational niceties.

It all sounds rather “anti-Jewish”, doesn’t it? And, oh, my golly gosh, who wants to be labelled “anti-Jewish”? Just think of the awful “holocaust”, which we know to be indisputably true thanks to Stephen Spielberg, reels of spotty old film footage of some rather sickly-looking people who resemble typhus victims and Nuremberg confessions extracted at the expense of crushed testicles. After all, my bank manager, employer, publisher, physician, investment fund manager, lawyer, socialist senator, conservative rep, insurer, abortionist, and local feminist activist are all Jews. How can we not trust them?

And aren’t Jewish scientists at the forefront of combating that nasty old global warming catastrophe, warning us that we must consume less and breed far fewer white children, whom we all know leave a “carbon footprint” ten times greater than your local neighbourhood Somali kid?

Hey, buy it if you want. Millions do. But the whores who call themselves journalists who work for CNN, the BBC, the NYT, the Washington Post, ITV, the Daily Telegraph, The Times, The Guardian, the Bild-Zeitung or any other Zionist-owned outlet you care to mention will never for one moment tell you that the world upon which we live is so richly abundant in resources that it could support ten times our current population. Nor will they tell you that only a fraction of this planet’s vast mineral resources have been unearthed and exploited for the good of all mankind, perhaps coveted by the International Race at a time when we’re safely out of the way.

Why aren’t they telling us the truth? Why are they selling us the myth of “Peak Oil”? Why are they flogging us this “man-made” global warming bullshit even in the face of statistics that demonstrate sustained global cooling? Why are they saying that every switched-on light bulb is a crime against humanity when there exists absolutely no authoritative evidence of energy scarcity on the face of this vibrantly energetic planet?

Because they fear us. They hate us. They don’t want us here.

Those who control the print media, television, radio, the banks, the organs of government, the universities and every influential organisation you can think of number just 13 to 17 million people worldwide. By sheer coincidence (and here I must profess my absolute shock and utter astonishment), most of them just happen to be Jews.

Could there be some reason why this very special race of people, whom we all know as the Shining Ones especially buttered and salted by the Great Bagel in the Sky, seek to cull our numbers by means of climate hoaxes, artificially-caused shortages and starvation in addition to the many wars they have already ignited over the last several centuries? Surely not. For are these not the people their “god” once described as “a light unto the nations”.

Unfortunately, dear reader, they are not.

As I stated in my article ‘The Baphomet Conspiracy and the Laboratory of Fear’: “It is important to remember that the Children of Israel, including the Judahites and Judeans, were not the same people as the Jews (Idumeans), who were a mongrel Canaanite people descended from Cain and Esau (the dispossessed elder brother of Jacob) given over to the worship of Baal and Baphomet. Modern Jewry readily admits this today, just as the Jewish Pharisees did in the time of Jesus when they told him: "We were never in bondage [captivity]."

This is of crucial importance to those who consider themselves Christians, but who worship the father of the Jews, whom Jesus rightly identified as Satan. Knowing this, you will understand why Jews and crypto-Jews worked assiduously to spawn the evil term "Judeo-Christian", an oxymoron that literally describes a Christian who has been deceived by a vengeful Esau into worshipping Lucifer. To call yourself a "Judeo-Christian" is tantamount to referring to yourself as a "Satanic-Christian".

In the original Masoretic texts and the very first edition of the King James Bible, a very clear distinction was made between these impostors (the despised and hated “Idumeans”, which spawned the Herod dynasty), Judeans, and Judahites. Later editions simply merged the racial terms so as not to confuse the reader (no Ritalin in those days). Thanks to modern education and the treasonous Catholic and Protestant established churches, handsomely financed by Jewish publishing concerns (and Judaized clerics), those very subtle but all-too-important differences were lost in a flurry of wearying academic nuances. So, almost overnight the Idumeans, Judeans and Judahites all became known as “Jews”, which is like classifying an Icelander and a Chinaman as an “African”.

We have all been deceived as to the true identity of the “Jews”, and they laugh at us for our ignorance. And gullible Christians send them their paychecks, buying bullets by which the Children of Satan murder Palestinian children, the nearest descendants of the ancient Israelites. How ironic.

Jews are not, and have never been, the “chosen people”. On the contrary, they have been rightly identified down through the ages as a mongrel people possessed of particular malignant and viciously infernal traits that have caused great distress to the host nations they have infested. They know fine well that the real Chosen People are those, predominantly of European stock, who recognised and accepted the Judean-Celtic (Gaul-i-lean) Christ as God Almighty, who warned his people (you), and continues to warn them, of the perfidious Jew and his irremediably evil ways.

The world is starving on account of the selfish occult agenda of a demonically possessed race that has hypnotised the entire world into believing its intentions are benign and “scripturally” founded. This tiny group of deceitful, self-seeking parasites appropriately embodies the beguiling Serpent in the Garden of Eden, whose smooth talk and seductive words led to the fall of the pure, unblemished Adamic race. We continue to believe the lies and false promises that emanate from the Serpent’s mouth. We buy its crooked investment strategies, its falsified history and fables, its corrupt and perniciously destructive “entertainment”, its pharmaceuticals, its lawsuit enticements, its so-called “literature”, its attempts at music, its “science”, its wars, and its litany of self-replicating deceptions and myths.

The Serpent’s war to destroy its perceived enemies and seize their respective oil reserves has forced even some of the richest nations in the world to process life-sustaining food crops into combustible fuel. These evil bastards knew full well that the consequences of their esoterically veiled wars would lead to world hunger, and that’s exactly what they want: the revival of international communism under Jewish leadership, a One World Government and a Jewish-run central global bank.

They’ve already made great headway with the reconstructed German Communist Party, “Die Linke”, under the leadership of the evasively cunning Jew, Gregor Gysi. Nicolas Sarkozy, another Jew, would willingly play the socialist card for the chance of a game at the table of international usury. And each and every day, you allow this walking, talking shite to throw your hard-earned taxes into the bottomless coffers of bankrupt Jewish banking scams that have brought the world to the point of endless war and decades of inflation, unemployment, poverty, disease and depopulation.

Great Storms And Big Lies Of History

Throughout the events of the world, there were happenings that, on occasion, changed the course of history. Later generations often failed to remember or note the same or see an evil omen of these past occurrences. Some later called them acts of Mother Nature, others preferring to be spiritual, called them Divine Intervention. And then there were the Big Lies of foreign invaders.

From about the 15th Century on, Spain emassed great wealth from plundering countries in the New World. Such as, early in the 16th Century, Spain conquered Peru and Mexico. Perhaps at the time, Spain denied invading those lands to steal their gold and silver. For a time, the Spanish Hapsburg royalty became the most powerful in the world.

In 1588, Philip II of Spain ordered his huge Spanish Armada, considered invincible, to set sail to conquer England. Call it Mother Nature, call it a Judgment from Heaven, but a terrible storm blew them off course. What was left of the shipwrecked fleet ended up on the shores of Ireland. The surviving sailors/killers later intermarried with the inhabitants, thus resulting in the Dark Irish.

Following the French Revolution late in the 18th Century, what survived of the French Aristocracy that had not met their fate at the guillotine---a machine invented for beheading condemned prisoners---in a form of counter-revolution, installed a brilliant military conniver, Napoleon Bonaparte, of Corsica. As the dictator of France, acceptable to the monied class, he sought to restore their "glory", hurling the best of the French youth, some to their deaths, to conquer with his clever strategies, Germany, Austria, and other places.

Eventually Napoleon conquered Russia and briefly set up his headquarters in Moscow. In the winter of 1813, retreating from Moscow, his armed forces were hit with the worst winter ever, 80 degrees below zero. Most of his army of 600,000 were lost. Some were frozen deep in ice and their corpses did not thaw out until many months later.

After the defeat of Napoleon at Waterloo, he was sent to be exiled in an island in the mid-South Atlantic Ocean, St. Helena. Some now contend that there is proof from surviving strands of his hair, that Napoleon was murdered, bit by bit, by being poisoned with arsenic.

After Adolf Hitler's armies invaded Russia in 1941, the two winters that followed, were, like what hit Napoleon's army in 1813, some of the worst low temperatures ever. Many German soldiers considered being sent to the Russian front as a death warrant. Was it a dark omen of what was to be the great Nazi military disaster at Stalingrad?

Perhaps over the last two centuries, foreign invaders and would-be foreign invaders of the Mid-East, did not learn from previous events. Failure to understand the region, rather than Mother Nature or Divine Intervention, brought them eventually to ruin. Each such foreign invader started with bombarding the targetted nation, and others, with the Big Lie that the invaders were coming, not to steal their land and treasures, but for the good of the populace.

As one publication quoted George W. Bush, comparing him to Napoleon, Bush was invading Iraq for spreading " 'God's gift' of liberty 'to each and every person', and of how 'Iraqi lives and freedom matter greatly to us' "

"Napoleon proclaimed a similar era of equality and respect for 'true Muslims' as he marched into Cairo in 1798, killing a thousand members of Eqypt's ruling caste....'Peoples of Egypt, you will be told that I have come to destroy your religion', said Napoleon as he entered Cairo. "British troops landed in what's now Iraq in 1914, as part of Britain's campaign against the Ottoman Turks, allies of Germany in World War I. 'Britain was bursting with confidence in an easy and early victory', wrote British officer T.E. Lawrence, better known as Lawrence of Arabia....Capturing Baghdad after the first three years, they offered almost the same salutation as Napoleon had in Cairo, 'Our armies do not come into your cities and lands as conquerors or enemies, but as liberators,' trumpeted Gen.F.S. Maude, commander of the British forces in Iraq. 'Your wealth has been stripped of you by unjust men....The people of Baghdad shall flourish under institutions which are in consonance with their sacred laws'....But Britain retained the Ottomans' long reliance on Sunni Muslims as the governing class in Iraq, an arrangement that exacerbated conflicts with Iraqs larger Kurdish and Shia Muslim populations."

The story in the Wall Street Journal , apparently as the faction of the Ruling Class that opposed the arbitrary installation of George W. Bush, has a great deal of details of the disasters of foreign invaders into the Mid-East and the Big Lies proclaimed by each.

So, in 2003, a huge American army, contrary to good military tactics, came up to the outskirts of Baghdad through desert from the South. Coming up principally on a highway designed by the Germans similar to their autobahn. The military purported masterminds had an excuse. Turkey would not permit the U.S. army to come to Northern Iraq the easy way, across Turkey. Retired generals and other clever sorts, grumbled that it could lead to a possible military disaster.

Some saw an evil omen of what might follow, as the U.S. army camped on the outskirts of Baghdad. Like Napoleon, purported Commander-in-Chief George W. Bush, to vindicate his father's personal grudge against his former business partner, Saddam Hussein, might eventually come to ruin. All the while, George W. Bush claiming, like Napoleon, that Bush was there not to steal their oil to use as collateral for the out-of-control U.S. debt and tax cuts for the wealthy, but to do wonderful things for the inhabitants of Iraq, like Napoleon promised those in Eqypt.

Just as the U.S. Army came up to Baghdad, a tremendous desert sandstorm befell them, one of the worst anyone could recall. A fine sand bombardment, capable of clogging up the mechanisms of military vehicles, helicopters, and jet planes, on which a modern army relies.Was it just a quirk of Mother Nature or Divine Intervention? To some, perhaps praying for Peace and being spiritual, it was a sign from Heaven, passing Judgement, on the foreign invaders, without an avenue of appeal. Were the Peace demands of the bulk of those on Planet Earth by this, ratified? Was it a signal that the wrath of Heaven, long biblically patiently withheld, will belatedly fall on those who violate the Ten Commandments?

On March, 14, 2008, many Americans were infuriated by the airing of highly inflammatory video clips from various sermons by the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. TV viewers heard the preacher saying that the U.S. government created AIDS as a genocide program against blacks - and watched him declaring "God damn America!"

As a spiritual advisor to Barack Obama, Wright's inflammatory rhetoric threatened to derail Obama's race for the Democratic presidential nomination. Wright, retiring at age 65, had served as pastor of the Trinity United Church in Chicago's Southside, where Obama had been a parishioner for 20 years. Obama quickly distanced himself from Wright's remarks, but refused to denounce him.


Is Reverend Wright a patriotic American?


As usual, the media quickly denounced his AIDS accusations as "conspiracy theory." This despite the fact that half of African-Americans polled believe AIDS could have been man-made. Although the media came down hard on Wright, he cannot be simply dismissed as a deluded and unpatriotic American. At age 20 in 1961, he interrupted his college studies to serve in the Marines. According to the Chicago Tribune (April 3, 2008), after completing two years of service in the Marines in 1963, he volunteered again to become a Navy corpsman. He did so well in corpsman school that he was the valedictorian and became a cardiopulmonary technician. Assigned to the Navy's premier medical facility at Bethesda Naval Hospital, he was a member of the commander in chief's medical team, and helped care for President Lyndon B. Johnson after his 1966 surgery. For his service on the team, which he left in 1967, the White House awarded him three letters of commendation. After leaving the service, Wright finished his final year of college, entered the seminary, was ordained as a minister, and eventually became pastor of Trinity, where he served for 36 years.

The Tribune concluded: Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the retiring pastor of Trinity, has been in the news for comments he has made over the last three decades. Since these comments became public we have heard criticisms, condemnations, denouncements and rejections of his comments and him. We've seen on television, in a seemingly endless loop, sound bites of a select few of Rev. Wright's many sermons. Some of his comments are inexcusable and inappropriate and should be condemned, but in calling him "unpatriotic," let us not forget that this is a man who gave up six of the most productive years of his life to serve his country. While words do count, so do actions. Let us not forget that, for whatever Rev. Wright may have said over the last 30 years, he has demonstrated his patriotism.


The hepatitis B vaccine origin of AIDS

For more than two decades, I have written extensively about AIDS as a man-made disease and as a covert genocide program. In that respect I totally agree with Rev. Wright, and I will attempt to present here some very sketchy history of how HIV/AIDS originated in America, starting in 1978, when government scientists began to experiment on young, primarily white, healthy gay and bisexual men in Manhattan, as part of the experimental hepatitis B vaccine trials, which continued in various cities up to the year 1981 when the AIDS epidemic became "official". The groundwork for the experiment began in 1973 when The Gay Men's Health Project in Manhattan provided blood samples for hepatitis B testing at The New York City Blood Center. The results were astonishing! One out of every two gay blood samples were positive. By contrast, only 5% of the blood samples from straights were positive.

Developed at the Merck Institute for Therapeutic Research at West Point, Pennsylvania, the first crude experimental vaccine was tested in chimpanzees, the only animal susceptible to the human hepatitis B virus. Later, the vaccine was tried on a small group of retarded children.

When the experimental vaccine was ready to be more widely tested in humans, several "high risk" groups were considered. These included male homosexuals, drug addicts, mentally deficient adults, Chinese-Americans, indigenous Alaskans, and patients and medical staff of kidney dialysis centers. After much debate, it was decided that young promiscuous gay men would be the best group to test the efficiency of the vaccine.


Wolf Szmuness and the New York Blood Center

Wolf Szmuness, a Polish physician trained in the Soviet Union, was placed in charge of the hepatitis B vaccine trial at the NY Blood Center. Szmuness, a Jew born in Poland in 1919, was a young medical student in eastern Poland when the Nazis invaded the country in the summer of 1939. When Poland was partitioned by Germany and Russia, Szmuness was sent to Siberia as a political prisoner. His entire family in western Poland was murdered by the Nazis in the Holocaust. His years in exile in Siberia were "a long dark period that he was most reluctant to talk about."

June Goodfield in Quest for the Killers, provides the definitive account of the gay hepatitis experiment. During confinement in Siberia Szmuness was repeatedly interrogated and beaten by the Russian KGB for refusing to cooperate in spy activities. After release from detention in 1946 he was allowed to finish his medical education in Tomsk in central Russia. While a student, he married a Russian woman. He specialized in epidemiology, and when his wife contracted a nearly fatal case of hepatitis, he decided to dedicate his life to the study of this liver disease.

In 1959 the Soviets allowed Szmuness, and his wife and daughter, to return to Poland where he worked as an epidemiologist in the health department. There are conflicting reports of how Szmuness came to America. According to Aaron Kellner, the founder of the NY Blood Center, the Communists allowed Szmuness and his family to attend a scientific meeting in Italy in 1969. While there, they defected to the West. Allan Chase, author of Magic Shots, claims Szmuness was driven out of Poland in a 1968 Communist purge of the few remaining Jewish survivors of the Holocaust. Goodfield writes that Polish anti-Semitism cost Szmuness his job, resulting in his applying for a visa which eventually enabled him to get out of Poland legally. From Rome the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society arranged for the family to come to the U.S.

Szmuness arrived in Manhattan with $15 in his pocket. Through the intervention of Walsh McDermott, Professor of Public Health at New York Hospital, Szmuness was fortunate enough to secure a position as a lab technician at the New York City Blood Center. Within a few years he was given his own lab, and a separate department of epidemiology at the Center was created for him. In record time he was appointed Professor at the Columbia School of Public Health.

By the mid-1970s he was a world authority on hepatitis. In another startling occurrence, Szmuness was invited back to Moscow in 1975 to give a scientific presentation. As a defector he was terrified to set foot in the Soviet Union, and memories of KGB torture and interrogation still plagued him. However, his colleagues assured him he would have the full protection of the U.S. State Department. His return to Russia was a scientific triumph. By the late 1970s he had been awarded millions of dollars in grant money and was fully prepared to undertake the most important mission of his life: the hepatitis B vaccine experiment.

First, Szmuness became acquainted with the gay community, and added homosexual physicians and activists to his staff. He was taken into the gay ghetto where he viewed the baths, bars and discos. Promiscuous homosexuals were perfect guinea pigs. They would prove, beyond doubt, that Szmuness could wipe hepatitis B off the face of the earth.

Tarketing gay men for the vaccine experiment

In the late 1970s a bloodmobile began canvassing the gay neighborhood in the Greenwich Village section of Manhattan, looking for homosexual volunteers. Over ten thousand men signed up and donated blood samples for Szmuness' upcoming experiment. (These stored donated blood specimens would eventually provide data regarding the spread of HIV/AIDS into the gay community.)

Szmuness was highly selective in the men he chose as finalists. He required that the men be highly promiscuous. In fact, the more promiscuous the better. He was testing a vaccine against a sexually-transmitted virus. Therefore, he didn't want any monogamous men, or men with lovers, in his experiment. He also wanted men who were healthy, young, responsible, intelligent, and preferably white. Promiscuous bisexuals were acceptable, but heterosexual men were excluded from the experiment. The men had to have an address and a phone number, and be willing to provide blood samples over a long period of time.

The hepatitis experiment was costly, and Szmuness didn't want any uncooperative or hard-to-find gays messing up his experiment. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, were all involved in the study, as well as big pharmaceutical companies, such as Merck, Sharp & Dohme Inc., and Abbott Laboratories.

In preliminary experiments, Szmuness first tested his vaccine in chimpanzees. He then tested two hundred human volunteers, presumably gay men, by inoculating them with the vaccine. In the months before the official beginning of the experiment there had been no problem with the chimps or the volunteers. Szmuness was now ready to set the date for the final experiment- an experiment which would decimate the gay community in New York City, and then spread throughout the country.


The vaccine experiments and the beginning of AIDS

The first group of gays were inoculated in November 1978 at the New York City Blood Center. The experiment continued until October 1979. Over one thousand men from Manhattan were injected with Szmuness' vaccine.

In January 1979, a few months after Wolf Szmuness began his experiment, purple skin lesions began to appear on the bodies of young white gay men in the Village area of Manhattan. The doctors were not sure exactly what was wrong with these men. During the next thirty months, Manhattan physicians encountered dozens of cases of a new disease characterized by immunodeficiency, Kaposi's sarcoma, and a rapidly fatal lung disease, known as Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia. All the men were young and gay and promiscuous. Almost all were white. All died horribly. Within a few years, AIDS would become the leading cause of death of young men and young women living in New York City; and The Big Apple would be the epicenter of the new plague with the highest number of AIDS cases in the country.

In March 1980 the CDC supervised additional gay experiments in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, St. Louis and Chicago. In the fall of 1980 the first West Coast case of AIDS appeared in a young man from San Francisco. Six months later, in June 1981, the AIDS epidemic became "official." No one could understand why large numbers of young, white, previously healthy homosexual men were dying mysteriously in Manhattan, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

By the beginning of the 1980s, Szmuness was awarded millions of dollars for his research, and his hugely successful hepatitis vaccine was hailed as having tremendous global implications. He collaborated with the most powerful medical institutions in the nation: the NIH, the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the FDA, the WHO, and the Cornell, Yale and Harvard Schools of Public Health and the Russian Academy of Medical Science. Other global connections included the International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyons, France, and close associations with third world African countries. Even the services of the Sengalese Army were employed to secure blood specimens in one of Szmuness' many African experiments.

In June 1982 Wolf Szmuness died of lung cancer. In a posthumous account of Szmuness, the founding president of the New York Blood Center, Aaron Kellner, wrote: "He was the quintessential doctor's doctor. Most physicians in their professional careers influence the lives of a few hundred or a few thousand people. Some fortunate ones can influence the lives of a few million. It is the rare physician who, like Wolf Szmuness, is given the grace to touch the lives of billions of people--those living on this planet and generations yet unborn."

A 1983 report, published after Szmuness' death, detailed a new experimental hepatitis B vaccine program in Kangwane, using Black South African infants as subjects.


Monkey virus business in Africa and its connection to the Blood Center

From the very beginning of AIDS, government scientists claimed HIV virus originated as a primate virus, either from chimpanzees or monkeys, in the African jungle. From these primates it is believed the HIV virus was "introduced" into the African black population. Years later, I learned of a connection between the hepatitis B vaccine experiment at the New York Blood Center and its connection to an African primate laboratory that has never been revealed to the public, to my knowledge.

In 1974, Albert Prince, head of the virus lab at the NY Blood Center, established a chimp virus laboratory in West Africa and became its director. Chimps were captured from various parts of West Africa and brought to VILAB. The lab prides itself by releasing "rehabilitated" chimps back into the wild. One of the purposes of VILAB II, located at the Liberian Institute for Biomedical Research in Robertsfield, Liberia, was to develop the hepatitis B vaccine in chimps. A few years later the experimental hepatitis B vaccine was inoculated into gays at the Blood Center.

Also closely allied with the "pre-AIDS" development of a hepatitis B vaccine is the little publicized primate colony outside New York City called LEMSIP (the Laboratory for Experimental Medicine and Surgery). Until disbanded in 1997, LEMSIP supplied New York area scientists with primates and primate parts for transplantation and virus research.Founded in 1965, LEMSIP was affiliated with the New York University Medical Center, where the first cases of AIDS-associated Kaposi's sarcoma were discovered in 1979. Researchers at NYU Medical Center were also heavily involved in the development of the experimental hepatitis B vaccine used in gays; and the Medical Center received government grants and contracts connected with biological warfare research beginning in 1969, according to Leonard Horowitz, author of Emerging Viruses: AIDS and Ebola.


The AIDS aftermath of the gay vaccine experiment

Most people are unaware of the gay experiments that immediately preceded the mass deaths in the gay community. But the details of the vaccine trials, and their effects on the health of homosexual men, are recorded for posterity in the annals of medical science.

After Szmuness' death he was remembered and honored by a small coterie of distinguished scientists- the national and international medical power brokers who run medical science, and who represent the media darlings. On May 11, 1984, a landmark meeting took place in the nation's capitol to honor Wolf Szmuness. One of the most distinguished attendees was Dr. Robert Gallo, who had announced the discovery of the AIDS virus three weeks earlier. Those who paid tribute to Szmuness also included the top government scientists in AIDS and cancer, the two discoverers of the AIDS virus, the most well-known researchers in animal experimentation, the heads of the most prestigious biomedical establishments in the nation, and the chief executives of drug companies tied to genetic engineering, vaccine production, and biological warfare research.

There was indeed a strange and ominous connection between cancer and AIDS, between animal experimentation and genetic engineering of viruses, between biological warfare technology and drug companies, between gay experiments and AIDS, between vaccine programs and the contamination of the nation's blood supply. Why else would all these people from diverse areas of science be attending this high level government conference?

Despite the denial of the medical authorities, there was a connection between Szmuness' gay experiment and the outbreak of AIDS in American cities. It wasn't my imagination. And it wasn't a coincidence. The more I studied the hepatitis B experiment, the more the connections to biological warfare and genocide became apparent.

African-Americans and man-made AIDS


Rarely, a black celebrity, such as comedian Bill Cosby or disco diva Grace Jones, or popular actor Will Smith would astonish people by declaring AIDS was a man-made disease. But in media interviews, the subject was quickly changed. In Rolling Stone black filmmaker Spike Lee predicted a lot of people would have to do a lot of explaining about AIDS one day. How could a mysterious and incurable disease appear out of nowhere and specifically target gays and minorities? Lee thinks the mystery disease is "about as mysterious as genocide." He is convinced "AIDS is a government-engineered disease. They never realized it couldn't be contained to the groups it was intended to wipe out." Is Lee paranoid? He declares: "You might think I'm crazy about this one. I don't think so."

This human protective psychological device called "denial" is the strongest argument against AIDS as a man-made disease For many people, the idea is too painful to bear and quickly dismissed. In my experience, physicians comprise the group most unreceptive to the concept. A common response of AIDS researchers to the issue is that they are so busy trying to find a cure for AIDS that they have no time to investigate such foolishness. Even gay AIDS activists use this ploy.

Why do AIDS activists avoid the subject of AIDS biowarfare? Undoubtedly, they fear a confrontation on this issue. Activists are constantly badgering the government for more funding. Accusing officials of deliberate gay genocide might cause the government to stop listening to gay demands.

According to the latest statistics posted on the Internet, about 20 million people worldwide have died of AIDS and 40 million more are infected with HIV, most in Sub-Saharan Africa. About 600,000 Americans have died.

The disproportionately high rate of AIDS in the Black community raises the specter of black genocide. A New York Times editorial ("The 'AIDS Plot' Against Blacks," May 12, 1992) emphasized that "bizarre as it may seem to most people, many Black Americans believe that AIDS and the health measures used against it are part of a conspiracy to wipe out the Black race.

The scientific evidence for man-made AIDS

After studying the scientific evidence for man-made AIDS for so long, it is difficult for me to imagine anyone who knows the "facts" surrounding the origin of HIV/AIDS who cannot see a possible connection between the gay experiments and the outbreak of the "gay plague."

Although the evidence is circumstantial, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that HIV (along with the new Kaposi's sarcoma virus) was seeded into gay men via contaminated vaccines as part of the hepatitis experiment. But during my initial study of the hepatitis trials, I had overlooked the most obvious piece of evidence linking AIDS to Szmuness' experiment. The strongest piece of evidence was in the tremendous success of the vaccine trials!


According to June Goodfield: "In those (gay men) who received all three injections, 96% developed antibodies against the (hepatitis) virus. Overall, the vaccine was shown to be 92.3 percent effective in protecting high risk individuals against hepatitis B; these findings are of an order of magnitude that has never been equaled in any other vaccine trial, either before or since."

The experiment could never have been so phenomenally successful if the gay men were infected with HIV before the experiment!

The reason for this is now obvious. More recent studies have shown that hepatitis B vaccination is not very successful in immunodepressed people. In HIV-positive individuals, the success rate of the hepatitis B vaccine is about 50%, only protecting one out of two people infected with the AIDS virus.

The gay men in Szmuness' study were healthy before the experiment- and damaged afterward. The experiment would have been a failure (never 96% effective) if the immune systems of the men hadn't been working at full capacity. The cohort was infected with HIV at the time of the experiment- not before.

By permanently changing the genetic structure (via HIV) of homosexual men, the gay experiment devastated the homosexual community in America. Health officials now predict the odds of a teenage male homosexual reaching the age of 60 without becoming HIV-positive is 50-50.

Is AIDS a covert genocide program against homosexual men? Is AIDS genocide against Black Africans? For those aware of evidence presented, the answer is yes.


The AIDS aftermath of the gay experiment

A 1986 report in JAMA showed 20% of the men in the experiment were already infected with HIV by the end of 1981; and by 1984, more than 40% of the men were HIV-positive and doomed to death.

Another follow-up study of 8,906 gay men who donated blood for the hepatitis experiments in Manhattan was released in 1992. Statistical analysis of this group showed that mortality rates for men aged 25-44 began to rise in the 1980s, with AIDS the leading cause of death among young men in New York City. Remarkably, "The all-cause mortality in this cohort in 1988 was 24 times higher that the mortality rate in the cohort before the beginning of the AIDS epidemic."

A final paper appearing on the "natural history of HIV infection" and titled "Long-Term Survival after Infection with Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 (HIV-1) among Homosexual Men in Hepatitis B Vaccine Trial Cohorts in Amsterdam, New York City, and San Francisco, 1978-1995", appeared in the American Journal of Epidemiology in 1999. (The full report is available online at: http://aje.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/reprint/150/10/1026). The fate of 120 gay men in the Manhattan hepatitis B experiment was determined by the investigators. It is clear from "Table One" that fifty eight of these young men had died, and 93% of then died of AIDS.

Primate viruses out of Africa - or out of a laboratory?

Why is AIDS a heterosexual disease in Africa, and a "gay" disease in the United States? Do African Blacks make love differently than white heterosexuals? How did Black African men acquire HIV? Were they all sodomized? What kind of sexually transmitted agent spreads heterosexually in Africa and homosexually in America? And rarely, if ever, is transmitted between non-drug-using lesbians?

There are millions of white people in Sub-Saharan Africa. If HIV had been present for decades (as scientists insist), why is AIDS primarily a black man's disease-and not also a white man's disease in Africa? In the U.S., why was AIDS first discovered in white gays, but not in black gays?

There is no evidence that AIDS in America came from Africa or anywhere else outside of the USA. There is no possible way a black heterosexual sexually-transmitted epidemic in Africa could have transformed itself initially into a white gay man's disease in America. That, in itself, is the "smoking gun."

Why weren't the first cases seen in Asian-Americans or Native Americans? Why no cases in women? Why no cases in infants, in the elderly, and in immunodeficient people with chronic diseases--the groups most likely to acquire a contagious virus, and the groups most likely to die quickly from HIV?
Why was there no "incubation period" for HIV in the U.S.? As soon as the gay experiment started, it was quickly followed by "gay-related immune deficiency disease"-later to be known as "acquired" immune disease.

Gay, Black and Universal Genocide

The introduction of HIV via the hepatitis B trials was a deliberate attempt to liquidate the gay community - and then blame homosexual men for spreading the disease to the "general population" because of their perverted and "high risk" lifestyle. Why did a new "gay disease" erupt as soon as homosexuals, the most hated people in America, presented themselves as guinea pigs to medical scientists? Another coincidence of nature caused by monkeys in the African jungle? Why are new retroviral diseases, never before seen in modern medicine. appearing so soon after retroviruses were "discovered"? (Google: The Special Cancer Virus Program of the 1970s, the birthplace of HIV and AIDS) Why did the AIDS "supervirus" appear a decade after it was predicted by the biowarfare experts? (Google the Congressional testimony of biological warfare researcher "Dr. Donald MacArthur " in 1969.) Another coincidence?

The public has been carefully taught that Blacks and Gays and African Green Monkeys are responsible for causing AIDS. These politically correct and scientifically correct "facts" are accepted by most people without question.
How many more AIDS deaths are required before people speak out against this secret genocide- and the obvious connection of vaccine experiments and the "introduction" of lethal viruses into "select populations"?

Amnesty unveils shock 'waterboarding' film

An American expert in torture techniques has denounced his government for allowing "waterboarding" to be practised against terror suspects, just as a graphic advertisement showing the brutal reality of the technique is unveiled to British cinema-goers.


Malcolm Nance, who trained hundreds of US servicemen and women to resist interrogation by putting them through "waterboarding" exercises, demanded an immediate end to the practice by all US personnel.

He said: "They seem to think it is worth throwing the honour of 220 years of American decency in war out of the window. Waterboarding is out-and-out torture, and I'm deeply ashamed President Bush has authorised its use and dragged the US's reputation into the mud."

Mr Bush faced criticism recently when he vetoed a Bill that would have outlawed such methods of "enhanced interrogation" – the White House refuses to describe it as torture.

Mr Nance said: "You have a purpose-built table with straps in a pattern so that people can be strapped and unstrapped quickly. The head is strapped down in such a way so they cannot resist the water. The head is elevated so the water goes down the oesophagus.

"The water is poured very carefully over the nose – you keep a constant pour. You are drowning in water but you don't have the ability to hold your breath. You feel the water going in, you understand that water is filling your lungs."

Mr Nance, who is now an independent consultant, said the technique was also futile, as well as barbaric, as the prisoner would say anything to survive – regardless of its truth.

Amnesty International is leading the campaign to persuade the US to abandon the practice – a form of torture used as long ago as the Spanish Inquisition – and is stepping up its efforts with the release of a graphic and disturbing advertisement.

The broadcast begins with images of glistening clear liquid, suggesting it could be promoting a new brand of vodka or gin. But the camera pulls back to show water is being poured over the face of a desperate man strapped to a table.

Kate Allen, the UK director of Amnesty International, said: "Our film shows you what the CIA doesn't want you to see – the disgusting reality of half-drowning a person.

"For a few seconds, our film-makers did it for real. Even for those few seconds, it's horrifying to watch. The reality – in a secret prison with no one to stop it – is much, much worse."

G8 summit to discuss food price rises

Record global food prices will be on the agenda of the Group of Eight heads of state summit in July for the first time in almost 30 years, amid mounting concerns about the social, political and economic impact of the food crisis.

The International Monetary Fund on Monday gave its starkest warning about the impact of rising commodities, saying food and oil prices “risk becoming a destabilising force in the global economy”.

Clinton threatens to 'obliterate' Iran

Democratic White House hopeful Hillary Clinton says in case she becomes the next US president she would support Israel against Iran.

In an interview with the ABC News, when she was asked what she would do if Iran attacked Israel, she said "I want the Iranians to know that if I am the president we will attack Iran."

"In the next ten years, during which they might consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them," she added.

Clinton's support for the regime comes as Tehran has never declared any program to launch a military attack on Israel.

Body of 15 year old Palestinian boy found mutilated in Israeli settlement

At 3pm on Wednesday, 16th April, the mutilated body of 15 year old Hammad Nidar Khadatbh was found in lands of the illegal Israeli settlement of Al-Hamra by his father, who was out searching for his missing son.

Hammad had left the house at 9am on Tuesday, 15th April to work on the family’s land, located near the stolen agricultural lands of the settlement. As the second eldest son, he was picking cucumbers for the family rather than going to school, to help with the income of his struggling family. At evening he failed to return home, and so his father and other family members immediately went searching for him. They found nothing. They set out again the next day, Wednesday, and found his body in a place they had searched the day before - clearly dumped overnight.

Hammad’s body was naked, bloated, and tortured. His neck was broken, and his face had been smashed in with rocks. One finger had been cut off and there were multiple holes in his torso, seemingly made by a sharp, round implement - something like a pen, his family explained. An Israeli police officer who arrived on the scene to investigate the incident confirmed that Hammad had been murdered, but made no comment as to by whom. Hammad’s body was immediately taken to the coroner in Jerusalem, but the report on the exact cause of his death will not be available for another week.

After speaking to many people in the area, it was established that Hammad had tried to return home via the Al-Hamra (Arabic for “red area”) checkpoint, but was refused passage through as being only 15 years old, he had no identification (IDs are only issued to Palestinians aged 16 years and over). It appears that Hammad was then forced to walk around the long way home, and was taken at this point on Tuesday night.

Given the location of the body - on settlement lands and near an Israeli-only apartheid road - the family are convinced that Hammad was killed by settlers from the Al-Hamra settlement. His father explained that his son was only a young boy, and had no enemies. Also, he explained, there are no Palestinians in that area, only settlers from the agricultural settlement.

The 11500 residents of the village of Beit Furiq, located near the northern West Bank city of Nablus, have regular problems with the illegal settlements near their village. Approximately three years ago a 78 year old man, Mohammad Abu Oday, was killed when settlers from Itamar settlement destroyed his head with large rocks. Another young man was also shot dead by settlers, and five others have been injured whilst attempting to pick their olives. Residents advise that these attacks happen when Palestinians go to lands that are anywhere near to settlements, occurring every couple of years.

Interestingly, these attacks elicit no repercussions on the settlers by the Israeli military such as are inflicted upon Palestinian villages in similar, or even lesser situations. The village of Beita, for example, was shut down for four days last week, with massive roadblocks installed on every road to the village, and residents arrested for attempting to leave after a shooting occurred near an Israeli-only road in which no one was injured.

Hammad was buried at 3pm on Thursday 17th April, and is survived by his parents and seven siblings.

Tank shell that sprays deadly darts killed cameraman in Gaza, say doctors

Bordered by lemon trees on one side and an olive grove on the other, the country lane leading to Joher Al Dik, where Fadel Shana was killed doing his job, was all but deserted yesterday afternoon. But two teenage boys from the Nusseirat refugee camp displayed half a dozen of the dull, black, inch-long darts which they said they had found among the cactus growing along the verge opposite where Mr Shana had parked his unarmoured SUV to film a tank on Wednesday afternoon.

According to doctors who examined the body of the 23 -year-old Palestinian Reuters cameraman at Gaza City's Shifa Hospital, it was controversial darts like those, flechettes, fired from an Israeli tank shell that explodes in the air, that caused his death. X-rays displayed to Reuters showed several of the flechettes embedded in the dead man's chest and legs, and more were found in his flak jacket, clearly emblazoned, like his vehicle, with "TV" and "Press" signs.

Mr Shana, unmarried, and a talented and popular member of the award-winning, 15-strong Reuters team in the Gaza Strip, had been driving west along the normally quiet road when he and his soundman, Wafa Abu Mizyed, 25, decided to park their vehicle 200 metres or so short of Gaza's main north-south Salahadin Road. They had been touring Gaza to report on the worst day of violence since early March.

A charred black patch yesterday marked the spot where the vehicle, its rear ripped to pieces by the blast, had been towed away.

Mr Shana set up his tripod and faced back east in the direction of the Israeli border to film a tank perhaps a kilometre and a half away across the fields. The last video from Mr Shana's camera showed the tank opening fire. Two seconds later, after the shot raises dust around the tank's gun, the tape goes blank – presumably marking the precise moment at which he was hit. Reuters reported yesterday that a frame-by-frame examination of the tape shows the shell exploding and dark shapes shooting out of it.

The Israeli military was silent last night on whether it planned to launch the "swift, honest, and impartial investigation" into Mr Shana's death, urged by David Shlesinger, the editor-in-chief of Reuters News, who said the medical evidence underlined the case for such an inquiry. While expressing "sorrow" for Mr Shana's death, a military official said the area was one in which there was "ongoing fighting against armed, extreme and dangerous terrorist organisations on a daily basis". The presence of media, photographers and other uninvolved individuals in areas of warfare is extremely dangerous and poses a threat to their lives." But Mr Shlesinger said: "The markings on Fadel Shana's vehicle showed clearly and unambiguously that he was a professional journalist doing his duty. We and the military must work together urgently to understand why this tragedy took place and how similar incidents can be avoided in the future. This tragic incident shows the risks journalists take every day to report the news."

The military would only say that all its weapons "are legal under international law". Israel's Supreme Court rejected a 2003 petition arguing that the use of flechettes as an anti-personnel weapon contravened a 1980 UN convention, but the Israeli human rights group Btselem said last night that flechettes violated international law and demanded a criminal investigation.

Mr Shana's friend and colleague Wissam Nassar, also 23, a photographer with the Maan news agency, said yesterday that, alerted to reports of civilian casualties in central Gaza, he and two colleagues had driven south in the armoured car of photographer Mohammed Abed, of Agence France Presse.

"We parked the car at the corner [of the lane] and saw people looking east. We saw Wafa Abu Mizyed [who was injured by shrapnel in the blast] and he was saying 'Fadel died'." Mr Nassar added that before they managed to get to Mr Shana's car there was an explosion perhaps 30 metres away from what he presumed was another tank shell, which had landed ahead of them to the east of the car.

"We all lay down in the road," he said. "I thought at first I had been injured. There was a lot of smoke." Eventually they reached Mr Shana's car and found his body beside his mangled tripod.

The two teenage boys from Nusseirat, Tareq al-Bana, 16, and Mohammed Abu Hajaj, 19, said they had been there when Mr Shana had been killed by the explosion which also injured or killed several other Palestinians, including at least one teenager with a bicycle. They said some tyres had been burned in the lane but that there had been no shooting from Palestinians.

Mr Nassar said Mr Shana was a fine colleague "who always wanted to make an extra effort. He thought a lot about the future. He really wanted to be something in Reuters." He had photographed Mr Shana last Friday when they met on duty outside a mosque where Hamas's leader, Ismail Haniyeh, was speaking.

The picture shows a smiling man in sunglasses with stubble and hair down to his neck. Mr Nassar added: "He joked with me, saying keep those pictures; you may need them some day.”
