Gunbattles Rage In Mexican Border Town

Massive gunbattles broke out between suspected drug traffickers who fired at each other while speeding down heavily populated streets of this violent border city early Saturday, killing 13 people and wounding nine.

All of the dead were believed to be drug traffickers, possibly rival members of the same cartel who were trying to settle scores, said Rommel Moreno, the attorney general of Baja California state, where Tijuana is located.

"Evidently this is a confrontation between gangs," Moreno told reporters.

Eight suspects and one federal police officer were injured in the pre-dawn shootings, none gravely, said Agustin Perez Aguilar, a spokesman for the state public safety department. The suspects are being held on suspicion of weapons possession among other possible charges.

Police recovered 21 vehicles, many with bullet holes or U.S. license plates; a total of 54 guns; and more than 1,500 spent shell casings at various points in the city where the battles broke out, Perez Aguilar said.

At one point, the alleged traffickers fired at one another as their sport utility vehicles sped down a busy six-lane boulevard lined with restaurants, car repair shops, medical offices and strip malls.

Bullet holes could be seen in the walls of a factory building and on the perimeter wall of a housing complex along the road, but no bystander deaths were reported. It was not clear how long the gunbattles lasted.

A mall security guard who did not want to give his name for fear of reprisals said he heard hundreds of gunshots fired, some of which passed near him.

"I hit the ground," the guard said. When he got up again, he said he saw bullet holes in the wall behind him, a dead man lying in a pool of blood and 11 abandoned, bullet-ridden SUVs on the street.

The first shootout claimed seven victims. Three subsequent gunbattles — one outside a hospital — claimed five more, police said. The body of a man police believe to be the 13th victim turned up at a city hospital.

Tijuana, a sprawling metropolis just across the border from San Diego, California, is pervaded by frequent violence, much of it blamed on drug cartels battling for control of lucrative trafficking routes. The city is home to the Arellano-Felix drug cartel.

In January, eight people died in a gunbattle at a Tijuana safe-house apparently used by drug hit men to hold kidnapped rivals. In that confrontation, hit men holed up inside the house battled police and soldiers with automatic weapons for three hours.

Greenspan & Bush At Fault For Economy

VIENNA (Reuters) - Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan and the government of President George W. Bush were to blame for the U.S. financial crisis, Nobel laureate economist Joseph Stiglitz said in a magazine interview.

"This man (Greenspan) has unfortunately made a lot of mistakes," said former World Bank chief economist Stiglitz, according to a preview of the interview to be published on Monday in profil magazine.

"His first one was to support all the tax cuts which were introduced under Bush -- they didn't stimulate the economy very much ... This task was then transferred more towards monetary policy, though then (Greenspan) created a flood of credits with low interest rates," Stiglitz was quoted as saying.

Earlier in April, Greenspan said in an interview with CNBC television that the U.S. economy was in recession and defended his chairmanship of the U.S. central bank against charges that his policy missteps had laid the groundwork for the crisis.

He said decisions during his charge had been rationally constructed based on evidence at the time.

Stiglitz said Bush's government was also to blame.

"I reproach them, that the economy was not as resilient as it could have been due to the ongoing tax cuts and the huge costs incurred by the war in Iraq," he was quoted as saying.

He said it was a myth that Europe could decouple itself from the United States.

"Especially the weak dollar will continue to hit the European economy hard, because it will make it much harder to export," he said.

Neo-Cons Threaten VA Nurse With Sedition

The PEN American Center, the literary organization committed to free expression, is honoring an American most people in this country have never read or even heard of: Laura Berg. She is a psychiatric nurse at a Veterans Affairs hospital who was threatened with a sedition investigation after she wrote a letter to the editor denouncing the Bush administration’s bungling of Hurricane Katrina and the Iraq war.

That’s right, sedition: inciting rebellion against the government. We suppose nothing should surprise us in these days of government zealotry. But the horror and the shame of that witch hunt should shock everyone.

Ms. Berg identified herself as a V.A. nurse when, soon after Katrina’s horrors, she sent her impassioned letter to The Alibi, a paper in Albuquerque. “I am furious with the tragically misplaced priorities and criminal negligence of this government,” she wrote. “We need to wake up and get real here, and act forcefully to remove a government administration playing games of smoke and mirrors and vicious deceit.”

Her superiors at the hospital soon alerted the Federal Bureau of Investigation and impounded her office computer, where she keeps the case files of war-scarred veterans she treats. Then she received an official warning in which a Veterans Affairs investigator intoned that her letter “potentially represents sedition.”

It took civil rights litigators and Senator Jeff Bingaman of New Mexico to “act forcefully” in reminding the government of the Constitution and her right to free speech. The Department of Veterans Affairs retreated then finally apologized to the shaken Ms. Berg.

Even then, she noted, one superior told her it was preferred that she not identify herself as a V.A. nurse in any future letter writing. “And so I am saying I am a V.A. nurse,” Ms. Berg soon boomed out in a radio broadcast. “And some of my fire in writing this about Katrina and Iraq is from my experience as a V.A. nurse.” Thus declared Ms. Berg, well chosen to receive the new PEN/Katherine Anne Porter First Amendment Award.

Hillary, the war chick

PHILADELPHIA - When that phone rings at 3am at the White House, what does a true red-blooded Madam President do? She calls her generals and orders them to "obliterate" Iran. In other words: she orders the killing of 70 million people.

It's 10pm right outside Democratic Senator Hillary Clinton's victory rally at the Hyatt in downtown Philadelphia, and Mei-ling Wang is very, very angry. Fervent Hillary and Senator Barack Obama supporters in the streets try to out-shout and out-perform each other after Clinton beat Obama in the Philadelphia presidential primary, but that's not what's bothering Wang.

She embodies the quintessence of the Asian-American dream. A



master's from Harvard, a PhD at the University of Maryland, an associate professor at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. But she chose not to simply follow the "get rich is glorious" way as extolled by the late Chinese "Helmsman" Deng Xiaoping. As a co-director of the Social Exclusion Knowledge Network, she's been all over the developing world working with the poor, the homeless, the downtrodden, the excluded. And she has a few rash words to say to the Clintons.

"I've stumbled on Clinton supporters and asked them why she has lied about so many important issues. They told me everybody lies. I am a teacher. I told them 'look me in the eye. Would you say to your children that it is OK to lie'?"

Wang defends Obama as a "true American hero", stressing "in the beginning, he had nothing. The kind of people we Americans admire is the little guy, not somebody who has used her husband's [Bill's] resources, or someone who has a rich wife like [Republican Senator John] McCain."

Hillary won in Pennsylvania propped up essentially by old (second only to Florida) Catholic (40% of the vote) women (almost 60% of the vote). Blue-collar white men - "bitter" or not - also helped. Pennsylvania - even more rural than Ohio - is a state where the majority of voters (55%) have not even finished high school.

What the throng outside Hillary's victory rally made clear is what's being confirmed by most polls. At least one in four Hillary voters are that stubborn; they will never vote for Obama if he clinches the nomination. Not only happy to use all the tricks in the Karl Rove slash and burn political playbook, thus committing a potential disaster inside the Democratic Party, Hillary had to extend her slash and burn approach to the Middle East.

The (nuclear) postman never rings twice
On ABC's Good Morning America, Hillary was asked what she would do as president if Iran attacked Israel with nuclear weapons. The premise of the question in itself is preposterous. Iran does not possess a single nuclear weapon; it is not trying to assemble a nuclear weapon (even US intelligence admits it); and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has already stressed, echoing the leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khomeini, that a nuclear weapon - which implies the genocide of civilians - is "against Islamic rules". Khamenei has stressed "our nuclear bomb and our explosive powers are our faith, our youth and our people who have been present on the most difficult scenes with utmost power and faith and will continue to do so".

Hillary, anyway, was undeterred. She said: "In the next 10 years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them." She admits this is "a terrible thing to say", but doesn't question the much-hyped Iranian threat for the hype it truly is, adding that "those people who run Iran" need to understand her tough talk. Thus she positions herself as the sender of a wise message that "perhaps will deter them from doing something that would be reckless, foolish and tragic".

Not a world from Hillary about Israeli neo-colonization and collective punishment in the West Bank and Gaza. Not a word about Israel's several hundred nuclear warheads - the only country in the Middle East to actually possess nuclear weapons, and to have announced not so subtly it would have no problems using them.

Mei-ling Wang has every reason to be angry with what she characterizes as Hillary's "lies". This is further evidence that as the acrimony inside the Democratic Party spreads like a poisonous virus, Hillary by now has become virtually indistinguishable from the presumptive Republican nominee, McCain. McCain, not happy to just contemplate a hundred-year war in Iraq, has already sung his now famous "Bomb, bomb, Iran" Beach Boys rip-off. Hillary lip-synchs she wants to finish the war in Iraq, but then goes for the "obliteration" of Iran.

Both candidates are obviously pandering towards the Zio-cons and the powerful American Israel Public Affairs Committee lobby in the US. But most of all, Hillary is hedging her bets in terms of the buildup towards a possible attack on Iran, now that Vice President Dick Cheney is free to pursue his ultimate goal with pliable, opportunistic, counterinsurgency ace General David Petraeus promoted to head US Central Command.

Hillary's positioning spells Imperial Washington in all its glory - and hubris. Not only McCain; a president Hillary will mean more wars in the Middle East. So much for Hillary's rhetoric about "peace in the Middle East". But the real tragedy is that none of the vociferous street supporters outside the victory party rally in downtown Philadelphia, or her voters at large, are aware of the true colors of Hillary, the war chick.

Taliban bitten by a snake in the grass

KARACHI - The Taliban and their al-Qaeda associates, in what they considered a master stroke, this year started to target the Western alliance's supply lines that run through Pakistan into Afghanistan.

Their focal point was Khyber Agency, in Pakistan's Federally Administered Tribal Areas, a key transit point for as much as 70% of the alliance's supplies needed to maintain its battle against the Afghan insurgency.

The spectacular blowing up on March 20 of 40 gas tankers at Torkham - the border crossing in Khyber Agency into Afghanistan's Nangarhar province - sent shock waves through the North Atlantic Treaty Organization-led (NATO) coalition. So much


so that it made a deal for some supplies to transit through Russia, a much more arduous route.

The Torkham success was followed by a number of smaller attacks, and the Taliban's plan appeared to be going better than they could have expected.

Then came this week's incident in which the Taliban seized two members of the World Food Program (WFP) in Khyber Agency, and it became obvious the Taliban had been betrayed, and all for the princely sum of about US$150,000.

Their Khyber dreams are now in tatters.

With friends like this ...
When the Taliban's new tactic emerged, the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) - which Pakistan's intelligence community says maintains its biggest South Asian presence in Pakistan - sprung into action and staged a coup of its own.

But that's getting ahead of the story.

After coming under intense pressure in its traditional strongholds in the North and South Waziristan tribal areas, al-Qaeda and the Taliban staged a joint shura (council). This meeting concluded that they had to be especially careful of local political parties and tribals who were all too ready to sell themselves in the US's quest to find Osama bin Laden and his deputy Ayman al-Zawahiri. The council pointed to the example of Iraq, where the US's policy of courting Sunni tribes to turn against al-Qaeda has had marked success.

At this point, the council hit on the idea of taking the initiative and turning Taliban and al-Qaeda attention on Khyber Agency with the aim of bleeding the Western coalition without having to launch major battles.

This was fine in theory, but there were practical difficulties: the agency is the most unlikely place for "Talibanization". The majority of the population is Brelvi-Sufi Muslim, traditionally opposed to the Taliban's Deobandi and al-Qaeda's Salafi ideology. Being an historic route for armies and traders, the population is politically liberal and pragmatist, not easily swayed by idealist and Utopian ideology such as the Taliban's and al-Qaeda's.

So the Taliban sent in its own fighting corps gathered from other tribal areas, and drafted in Ustad Yasir, a heavyweight Afghan commander, from Afghanistan. These predominantly Pashtun fighters consider the Afridi and Shinwari tribes, the natives of Khyber Agency, as materialist and non-ideological, but all the same a local host was essential for their operation.

The Taliban hit on one of the few Salafis in the area, Haji Namdar, as their point man. Namdar is not a traditional tribal, he's a trader who has worked in Saudi Arabia. His Salafi ideology and the fact that he is a practicing Muslim lent him credibility - and trustworthiness - in the eyes of the Taliban.

Namdar came on board, offering to provide the Taliban with sanctuary for their men, arms and supplies along the main road leading to the border area. He gave these assurances to Taliban leaders in his own home.

The Americans were fully aware of the Taliban's designs on Khyber Agency and invested a lot in the tribes to protect the route. In response, the Taliban threatened tribal chieftains, and launched a suicide attack on a jirga (meeting) convened to discuss eradicating the Taliban from the area. Over 40 tribals were killed.

US Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte also visited Khyber Agency to meet with chiefs, but out of fear for the Taliban only six tribal elders showed up. It appeared the Americans had been outwitted, but their game was not over.

Anyway, with the Taliban's arrangement with Namdar, the stage was set and they steadily stepped up their attacks on convoys heading for Afghanistan, leading to the capture of the two WFP members and their vehicle on Monday.

Things start to go wrong
Unlike in previous Taliban attacks in the area, local paramilitary forces chased the Taliban after this incident. The Taliban retaliated and five soldiers were killed, but then their ammunition ran out and they surrendered the two workers and tried to flee, but they were blocked.

The Taliban called in reinforcements, but so did the paramilitary troops, and a stalemate was reached. Eventually, the Taliban managed to capture a local political agent (representing the central government) and they used him as a hostage to allow their escape.

They retreated to their various safe houses, but to their horror, paramilitary troops were waiting for them and scores were arrested, and their arms caches seized. A number of Taliban did, however, manage to escape once word got out of what was happening.

The only person aware of the safe houses was Namdar, their supposed protector: they had been sold out.

Their worst suspicions were confirmed when Namdar broke his cover and announced on a local radio station that Taliban commanders, including Ustad Yasir, should surrender or face a "massacre", as happened when local tribes turned against Uzbek fighters in South Waziristan in January 2007.

Namdar said that he had the full weight of the security forces behind him, and he did not fear any suicide attack.

Al-Qaeda and the Taliban immediately called an emergency shura in North Waziristan to review the situation. Al-Qaeda's investigations revealed that the CIA and Pakistani intelligence had got to Namdar and paid him $150,000 in local currency.

The immediate result is that Taliban operations in Khyber Agency have been cut off. This in itself is a major setback, as the attacks on supply lines had hit a raw NATO nerve.

In the broader context, Namdar's betrayal vividly illustrates the dangers of traitors within the ranks of the Taliban and al-Qaeda. The fear is that the various peace deals being signed now between the Islamabad government and selected tribal leaders could lead to a whole new batch of betrayals.

The conclusion, therefore, is to go all-out to stop the government's dialogue process with militants and tribals.

France's Plan To Stop America's Hitler

Some in Europe are determined to stop any further Bush White House plan to attack in the Mid-East and elsewhere. Such as a long-planned bombardment and invasion of places like Iraq.

How many Americans realize the attitudes of France in current events? The monopoly press, dealing with us like eight-year old children, would have us forget how France was instrumental in helping America against the British dictators in the American colonial period. And, that the British Aristocracy vows to divide this continent into Balkan-like warring regions, subjects of the British Monarch, and that we Americans should be puppets of colonies rather than citizens of the American Republic.

Short of targetting the Brits with French missiles---and some believe the Paris government harbors that thought if not already in effect---how would the French stop the British/American aristocracy and their war-mongering as to Iraq, in the Mid-East, and elsewhere?

If the U.S., under the Bush Administration, starts a war in the Mid-East, such as currently planned against Iraq, here is what France plans:

[1] France would freeze all U.S. assets in any way within their custody, control, or jurisdiction.

[2] Inevitably this freeze would include freezing the assets and funds of Canada as well, since the U.S.'s northern neighbor has mostly just a few large banks with numerous U.S. dollar accounts transacting, among other places, through French financial intermediaries, entities, agents, brokerages, and similar.

[3] Well-informed Americans, not sharing their knowledge with routine journalists, have been quietly repatriating their assets and funds parked, pledged, held, brokered, or otherwise with the custody, control, and jurisdiction of France, and within the control and custody of French financial intermediaries as branches in the U.S. and elsewhere.

[4] Yes, such activities not shared with naive, know-nothing Americans addicted to the U.S. monopoly press as if it were a narcotic, tend to make the U.S. isolationist, a bad word to New World Order types but possibly acceptable to common Americans. But, it is a forced reality update that the U.S. is a FORMER world super-power, now in the midst of financial collapse. Our attention has been diverted from this fact by a prior-arranged series of violences, called 9-11, and then later, playing up Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein as the two demons of the planet.

Who all has studied the documents of Operation Northwoods, in James Bamford's opus, "Body of Secrets", published just before Black Tuesday? How madmen in the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, in 1962, wanted to instigate an invasion of Cuba, by orchestrating bloody killings of Americans, disguised as if having been done by Cuba instead of actually by monsters part of covert U.S. teams. It should be studied carefully by those persisting in falsely blaming Black Tuesday on "the Moslems".

The U.S./British aristocracies, Establishment, powers-that-be, Ruling Classes---whatever you call THEM---is step by step overthrowing the American Republic and making us the DISUNITED States of America. Our good-paying jobs are ending, our industries exported to cheap-wage overseas regions, our porous borders mere unenforced jokes.

Here is some background to understand this; that there is a need to change the regime IN WASHINGTON, not Baghdad. AND some in France and elsewhere believe this is necessary.

Old-time Frenchmen recall, with great regrets, that France in the mid-1930s, had an opportunity to stop Hitler. How? By moving French military forces into a key region of Germany as the French were authorized to do so, under various treaties and provisions that were enacted in the wake of World War One.

The French move, however, in the midst of the worldwide Great Depression, was tabled, some say, by French leader Leon Blum. He was blamed, some say falsely, because he was a peace-seeking socialist. At the time, France had a virulent, Fascist element---the French word describing this, gagliards, translates as "the hooded ones", sort of like the American KKK, the Ku Klux Klan.

Some later blamed this ultra right-wing element for the perceived weak opposition in France to the German invasion of 1940, peaking with the surrender of Paris in World War Two. It led to the division of France into what was called the Vichy Government, pro-Hitler collaborators.

The pro-British American monopoly press overlooks the now known treason, before and during World War Two, of the British Monarchy. After all, the Brits changed their name to the House of Windsor, to disguise their German origin. They should rightfully be called the House of Hanover. A sizeable portion of the British royals plotted to surrender to the Nazis. King Edward 8th abdicated, not because he married a divorced commoner, but because he was pro-Hitler which needed for the moment to be concealed. As the Duke and Duchess, the couple ruled the British colony of Bahamas during World War Two, and treasonously allowed Nazi submarines to refuel right offshore the U.S.

Without desiring to recall the history of Mesopotamia, the war-mongering media persistently repeat the words of George W. Bush that there is a need for regime change in Baghdad (NOT Washington).

The newsfakers are not inclined nor capable of a more balanced understanding of recent history.

===To control oil, American/British big business interests favord backward, non-progressive regimes of the oil-drenched Mid-East sheikdoms. Whatever one may in retrospect otherwise say about the Shah of Iran, the Pahlavi Royal Family were determined to make Persia a modern, 20th century nation. The Shah restrained and restricted the narrow-minded clerics of Iran. Sarcastically, they could be described as the best minds of the 14th Century.

The American and British spy agencies jointly installed one of THEIR agents as the Ayotollah, the head man/cleric in Teheran, part of the overthrow of the Shah in 1979. Thereafter, as a front for the British royals, Daddy Bush instigated the Iraq-Iran War, starting in September, 1980 which ended in 1988. In great part, it was to keep up the price of oil, by causing the bombing of oil machinery and such. The price of oil drastically declined upon the end of the conflict.

By the massive bribery of Iranian clerics-leaders in October, 1980, in Paris and in a Paris suburb, Daddy Bush had an advantage against the dreaded possibility of what he called "The October Surprise". Namely, that Carter, running for re-election, would have a voting advantage if he could gain the release of the 52 U.S. hostages from the Teheran Embassy.

The U.S. hostages, because of Daddy's Bush's treason, were released ONLY just at the very moment in January, 1981, when the Reagan/Bush ticket were inaugurated. To remind Reagan to "follow orders", there was an attempt to assassinate Reagan a few months later; multiple shootings, falsely blamed on a lone gun-men, John Hinckley, whose father was in the oil business with Daddy Bush. And, to stop any efforts of the Vatican to promote peace, shortly after the attempt on Reagan, was the attempted assassination of Pope John Paul 2nd, falsely blamed on a Turkish nut, but actually arranged by the American CIA.

In the 1980s, Daddy Bush assisted his PRIVATE secret business partner, Saddam Hussein in obtaining the makings of bio/chemical weapons and the start of nuclear devices. The Bush Family were the key players in making Kuwait, A British colony up to 1961, as a world oil power. This was done through the Bush Family business, Dresser Industries, which later was merged into Richard Cheney's Halliburton, a worldwide provider of oil patch equipment.

By the late 1980s, Kuwait was financially damaging Iraq, which was impoverished by the eight year Iraq-Iran war into which Bush suckered Saddam Hussein. Kuwait had driven down the price of oil by massive oil pumping. Further, Saddam claimed the area near the Iraq/Kuwait border is actually Iraq's 19th Province. Kuwait was stealing oil from Iraq, Saddam claimed, by slant-drilling and pumping oil also out of the contested region.

Why was Saddam in a position to be mislead by Daddy Bush? Because the American CIA assisted Saddam Hussein into power by political assassinations. In 1990, Saddam was informed by Daddy Bush's U.S. Ambassador to Baghdad, April Glaspie, that the U.S. has no interest in interfering in Saddam's quarrel over the 19th Province and slant-drilling with Kuwait.

Is it not strange that Saddam has not been the victim of an CIA assassination plot? Created by the American secret political police, Saddam, like Osama bin Laden, has been used by Daddy Bush. A convenient "enemy", to be demonized while the Bush Crime Family, as stooges of a section of the American aristocracy jointly with the British destroy the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

How many Americans understand Iraq? Numerous households in Iraq have a large number of books, follow Opera, promote intellect. Baghdad is a cosmopolitan metropolis.

Americans find it difficult, because of media brainwashing, to understand that Iran, under the Shah, and Iraq under Saddam, have been modern-seeking nations, not run by backward clerics opposed to women being educated, opposed to women driving cars, and such. Modern nations are a detriment to Big Oil which needs narrow-minded reactionaries and Fascists.

Unlike Iraq, how many ordinary Americans have in their homes numerous books and such? The media fakers have pounded Americans into simple-minded types, believing that there are no high-level plots and that only "lone assassins" murder our leaders.

How and when are we reminded that among industrial nations (or declining industrial nations), America has the highest per cent of functional illiterates?

Will it be needed and will it work, if necessary? That is, France's Plan to Stop America's Hitler. By among other things, of freezing American funds and assets.

The latest "crisis" spreading throughout the world, the food crisis, may actually backfire on the giant capitalists reaping great profits from all they have sown without mercy for nearly a century. The US food crisis is in part being experienced because during the past 80 years, our government slowly formed partnerships with huge, profit-seeking corporations. Local food production was taken away from small family farmers who could not compete with big industry. The critical responsibility of providing food for the masses then fell into the profit-seeking hands of conglomerates that were heavily armed with chemicals, plastics, pesticides, fossil fuels, and topsoil-destroying machinery.

Like a microcosm of what would eventually occur throughout most of the world, people in the US became increasingly dependent upon the agricultural, chemical, and petroleum industries for the production and delivery of "food." Diets that were once healthy became unnatural and based largely upon processed, powdered, light-weight, (easily shipped and stored) grains instead of locally grown, nutrient-dense, fresh organic vegetables and fruits. This dependency began in earnest around the 1930s, the years referred to by some as "the Dirty Thirties." Those were years when corporate profits at all costs seemed to take precedence and business became more important than people. They were years when extraordinary examples of cause and effect occurred, as though a profound message was being offered to us if we would only stop and take notice.

Some feel the Wall Street crash of 1929 was caused by speculation over the exorbitant import taxes the Smoot-Hawley act was about to bring. This business protection act became law in 1930, and humans paid the price. The Great Depression grew and properties were confiscated. Other countries retaliated against the US, passing similar laws causing severe trade restrictions. The US State Department reported that world trade declined by "66% between 1929 and 1934." The market for our surplus grains disappeared. Farmers lost their farms when they could not repay loans taken out for machinery, but the machinery did more than cause homelessness. The machinery had damaged the topsoil of the Great Plains. The damage was so great, the topsoil turned to dust and was carried eastward by winds. Black clouds sent a roiling message from the new Dust Bowl to New York and beyond, New York being the very home of Wall Street. The Dirty Thirties marked the birth of the synthetic, plastic kingdom.

According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), in the 1900s a full 41% of the US workforce was employed in the important task of growing our food. By 1945, following the elimination of the small farmers this percentage fell to 16%. In 2000, the percentage of humans employed as food growers was a mere 1.9% of the workforce, because as the small farmers lost their farms and their jobs, commercial farming conglomerates took over. Industrialization meant commercial fertilizers would be used to force crops from the damaged earth. According to the USDA, commercial fertilizer use more than doubled after the Dirty Thirties. By the 1980s, nearly 50,000,000 tons of commercial fertilizers were being used yearly.

In a statement given to me by my friend, Dr. Luise Light, former USDA nutrition expert, we were "brainwashed by media publicity into thinking that industrially produced food is more scientific, safer and healthier than old-fashioned locally grown food. This is a lie." Dr. Light was the creator of the true Food Pyramid, which suggested we consume a diet based primarily on fresh vegetables and fruits. Her pyramid was drastically altered by the grain lobby, falsely leading people to think that our diets needed to be grain-based.

The grain foods created by synthetic practices, are clearly not natural. After foods are processed with pesticides, chemicals, plastics and fossil fuels, they become, in part, synthetic, many with additives to hide or enhance taste or appearance and to "extend shelf life." Throughout these years of dependency on "agro-giants," the health of Americans has steadily declined until we have become the top consumers of pharmaceuticals on earth. We who live in this plastic, synthetic kingdom that was born in the 1930s are now a nation completely dependent not only upon synthetic foods, but are now seeking relief from our toxic symptoms via expensive, synthetic drugs.

With the food supply lying in the hands of a few corporations, manipulation and price gouging have apparently been made easy, but these tactics would have little impact on any of us if we began independently growing our food locally as it should be grown. According to the Washington Post, global food prices rose 83% during the last three years, partly due to the rising costs of fuel for shipping. We have paid the price in many ways, poisoning ourselves with synthetic chemicals, then waiting unknown days or weeks while products are shipped over the hemispheres, or stored indefinitely thus losing more nutrients with each passing moment. This food crisis could turn out to be a godsend for the world if the situation is addressed individually and quickly.

For those of us who have grown tired (sick and tired) of supporting the pseudo and synthetic food industry, there is a simple way out of this giant mess. Anyone who has access to a little dirt can reclaim the responsibility of growing at least a portion of our foods right in our own yards, and we can begin today and start out very simply.

One of the easiest and most nutritious homegrown foods is the potato. The potato has long been the victim of curious false advertising. The truth is that fresh, organically grown potatoes can be viewed as one of the top three most nutrient-dense foods in the green kingdom. Freshly harvested potatoes taste great and have generous amounts of natural vitamin C, B complex vitamins (the real ones rather than dubious synthetic Bs), amino acids, and outstanding mineral and trace nutrients, including iodine. They are so "complete" in nutrition that humans living on diets consisting primarily of potatoes appear to have an excellent state of health that surpasses American health at this time.

The potato has more potassium than a banana, and comes in a delicious rainbow of different colors and types, offering a wide variety of nutrients from a natural, fresh, whole and very satisfying food. It now appears that the lowly spud, long ignored or completely dismissed as a joke or a mere starch bomb, is far superior in nutrients to the cheap powdered grains, chemicals, and plastics found in many industrialized breads, cereals, pastas and other processed foods that form the sad bulk of Americans' diet at this time. In addition, while grain foods tend to create an extremely high acid pH residue in the human body, it appears that potatoes do not.

There are many websites available giving detailed instructions in how to grow potatoes. The Google search engine leads us first to its favorite, albeit opinionated and frequently biased giver of information: "wikipedia." According to this site (and others), it seems that one must first have a degree in botany, several acres of land, heavy-duty harrowing equipment, or at the very least a water buffalo in order to prepare the earth for potato production.

"Correct potato husbandry is an arduous task in the best of circumstances," the wikipedia writer grimly warns any potential new backyard potato farmer, and then adds, "Good ground preparation, harrowing, plowing, and rolling are always needed, along with a little grace from the weather and a good source of water. Three successive plowings, with associated harrowing and rolling, are desirable before planting." (2)

The word, "harrow," is described by Webster's as to "pillage, plunder, torment, vex." It seems to sum up the entire suggested planting schedule rather well. One might come away from this exhausting description thinking we should leave potato growing to the harrowing "experts." The truth, however, is that the above techniques are completely unnecessary and are the very techniques that have badly damaged our topsoils.

The whole truth is that growing our food - - and especially growing the top three nutrient-dense foods addressed in this paper - - is not only easy, but can also be done in a way that the topsoil is renewed, nurtured and fed while it in turn produces our food. The potato is easy to grow due to the fact that most potatoes, unlike a loaf of bread or a bowl of corn flakes, are alive. Being so, they will strive to remain alive while also striving to bring forth more potatoes. They have been doing so on their own for countless millennia, long before humans discovered they were good to eat and could be grown next to the kitchen door instead of being hunted and gathered in the wild.

Potatoes, in fact, seem to happily attempt to grow under just about any conditions as long as they have not been killed by radiation or chemicals. One does not even need a yard in order to grow potatoes. They can be easily grown in containers and started by using old potatoes in the fridge or pantry that have sprouted "eyes." Each of the eyes will eagerly grow into a new plant if given half a chance.

After selecting organic potatoes that have sprouted eyes, you can cut the potato into halves, thirds or quarters, making sure there are at least a couple of eyes on each section. These sections should be allowed to sit on a windowsill for a day or so, until the areas that were cut can "heal," and dry. The alternative to sectioning is to just plant the whole potato that has sprouted eyes. I have done both, and the result has always been the same: more potatoes. One need not dig a hole, "work the ground," or commit any harrowing acts when planting potatoes. The seed potatoes can be placed upon the ground surface and covered with compost, leaves, hay, straw, etc. They are not particular. I have known folks who have simply tossed an old potato onto a compost pile, resulting in its taking root and establishing itself.

If planting in a container, fill the lower third of the container with soil, and throw some seed potatoes onto it, or push them down under the dirt. Once they have sprouted, they will grow in height very quickly. When the sprouted plants are about ten inches tall, some growers advocate adding more dirt, compost, leaves, etc., until the bottom portion of the growing plants are completely covered by the soil, leaving only about three inches of the topmost greenery uncovered. As the plants continue to grow in height, the advice by some is to continue adding more dirt until the container is filled. Potatoes will be formed throughout the container.

Others growers, such as organic farmer, Jim Gerritsen, of Wood Prairie Farm in Maine, state that the leaves should never be covered, but only the stems covered. In an email he stated to me, "Our potato leaves are solar factories manufacturing plant food. More leaves equal more food," and this, he wrote, equals better conditions for tuber bulking and higher yields.

Whichever method you choose, when growing potatoes in the yard add straw, hay, leaves, dirt and compost or a mixture of all to form a mound covering either the emerging plants or stems. This helps keep the developing tubers hidden from sunlight which might cause them to turn green. (Green potatoes may contain a substance, solanine, which should not be consumed.) I also incorporate various seaweeds and ocean nutrients into my gardens.

These mounds of organic materials will eventually decompose into rich composted soil, but long before this occurs, the potato plants will create their tubers, some types producing tubers in as early as a few weeks. You can "rob" the mounds early by carefully reaching in and removing tubers before the actual harvest time comes when the plants die back. Gently boiling the fresh potatoes whole, skin intact rather than cutting them up or puncturing them and then nuking them in the microwave, is said to result in less loss of nutrients.

At this time in our synthetic, nutrient-starved world, I feel Mr. Potato shares his spotlight with two other nutritious friends, the first of which is the sweet potato. Many people associate sweet potatoes with Thanksgiving or Christmas, and therefore consume this wonderful food only once or twice a year. The sweet potato is a root rather then a tuber, and is more closely related to the morning glory than to the spud. It is another extraordinarily nutrient-dense food created in the green kingdom of Mother Nature.

Sweet potatoes can be easily grown by first obtaining "slips" or green shoots from a sweet potato suspended by toothpicks in a glass of water, something many of us remember doing as kids. Each green shoot or vine that forms can be pulled off the sweet potato and planted in the ground or in containers. Or, slips can be ordered from farmers if specific varieties are desired.

This year, because of my concerns for my family and friends regarding this "food crisis," and also in an effort to help support and encourage small family farmers, I ordered a variety of seed potatoes and sweet potato slips as well as other organic seeds from various farmers, including Jim Gerritsen. A rainbow of seed potatoes - - reds, yellows, purples, blues, fingerlings, pinks and whites - - are lined up on my windowsill now growing their "eyes" and looking very much like a lineup of small, round (some tall and thin) soldiers preparing to bravely go forth and do what they like to do best, thus addressing in this front yard, "the global food crisis." I would suggest that everyone begin growing potatoes, immediately.

The importance of taking our food back and establishing organic gardening practices can perhaps best be observed by noting two other microcosms in our world that are right now showing us again extraordinary examples of cause and effect, as though another profound message is desperately being offered to us if we would only stop and notice. As though to make this message as clear as possible, these two opposing microcosms are a mere 50 miles from one another. They are Haiti, and Cuba.

According to David Montgomery's book, "Dirt," Cuba was the site of a unique cause and effect revolution that resulted in something rather exceptional. Before the 1959 revolution, four-fifths of Cuba's agricultural lands were controlled by a handful of people primarily engaged in the exporting business, and Cuba produced less than half of its own food. Machinery, fertilizers, pesticides and fossil fuels were all imported, but with the collapse of the Soviet Union, trading ended, and an ongoing US trade embargo "plunged Cuba into a food crisis."

"Unable to import food or fertilizer, Cuba saw the calories and protein in the average diet drop by almost a third, from 3,000 calories a day to 1,900 calories between 1989 and 1994." Out of desperation then, "Cuba began a remarkable agricultural experiment." Industrialized state farms were divided up into small farms and thousands of gardens. Government programs encouraged organic agriculture out of necessity: there was no longer ready access to chemicals, fertilizers, fossil fuels or industrialized machinery. Vacant lots were turned into organic vegetable gardens. People grew their own food and sold it locally. The end result is that Cuba is now entirely self-sufficient and will remain unaffected by the "global food crises" the rest of us are intended to feel.

A mere 50 miles away from Cuba, is Haiti. Haiti, once covered with lush forests of magnificent hardwoods, has suffered from severe poverty that resulted in nearly total deforestation. The deforestation has in turn, led to the washing away of Haiti's topsoil so that now it is very difficult to grow food there. It is said that even the children know hunger daily in Haiti, and out of sad desperation, some of the people are now making flat cakes made of dirt and clay mud. In a poignant irony, having lost the topsoil they needed to provide them food, they are now eating dirt and clay as food.

But there is something hopeful that Haiti might do to help turn all of this around, which brings me to the third most nutrient-dense source of food to be covered in this paper. This is a plant that is easily grown even on poor soils. In fact, growing this plant actually helps to control soil erosion and it helps enrich the topsoil.

Easily grown, and unlike Haiti's lost trees which will take generations to mature if replanted, this is a plant that takes only 120 days to mature. It requires no pesticides and its seeds provide one of the most uniquely nutritious foods in the entire green kingdom. Its fibers create a better paper than tree pulp, without damaging forests. It also creates superior clothing to that of cotton without requiring the excessive pesticides that cotton requires. This plant has been repeatedly shown to heal even advanced cancers as well as treat a variety of other illnesses. The fact that this plant creates products superior to cotton, might provide Haiti with a new economic opportunity, via producing quality clothing, textiles, building goods, and paper products. Finally, as though the green kingdom proved its intelligence to us by producing for us a simple plant that could help provide us with all of our basic needs, this plant also produces an abundance of clean-burning, renewable, sustainable, edible, nontoxic oil. Humanity had been depending upon this useful plant for at least 10,000 years, until it was outlawed.

This plant, maligned even worse in the press than the potato, is the hemp plant (cannabis). Hemp was outlawed during the Dirty Thirties as the plastic, synthetic kingdom was being established. All forms of hemp, including industrial hemp, had to be outlawed, because if hemp were allowed to continue providing us with its many superior, nontoxic products, we would never have developed a need and then a dependency upon the synthetics and plastics/fossil fuel products.

If we all planted hemp from sea to shining sea, in 120 days we could harvest all of the above mentioned superior, health-giving hemp products, and in addition we would also suddenly have a reliable new source of oil, superior and more easily grown than the corn biofuels. We would no longer have the need to harrow other countries in the endless and deadly search for fossil fuels. Lunacy, crises and greed, however, dictate that it is forbidden for us to grow hemp. In fact, lunacy, crises and greed appear to be the primary sources that fuel that keep the synthetic kingdom in operation. While we can legally purchase and enjoy a nice, nutritious bowl of hemp seeds for any meal, it remains illegal to grow hemp here in the U.S.

For those of us throughout the world who are tired of paying the price for, and helping fuel the synthetic kingdom, it is time for each of us to arm ourselves with potatoes and join together in a global revolution that will remove food production from the synthetic kingdom and return it locally to the green kingdom and to the people who are born with an inalienable right to have decent food. Think of Cuba. Pray for Haiti. Join the revolution.

Severe security crisis: The United States has recently halted for an unlimited period of time all the contracts to supply night vision equipment and electro-optic devices to the IDF, ynet has learned. The reason: Israel did not report the loss of hundreds of devices.



The IDF introduced Thursday a new procedure regarding the treatment of night vision equipment in order to minimize the damage already cased and renew the relations with the U.S.

A senior IDF official told Ynet that "This is a severe affair that seriously harms every warrior in the IDF, and many people have acted very stupidly here."



On Thursday the IDF introduced a new procedure for dealing with night vision apparatus in a bid to minimize the damage that has already been done and renew ties with the Americans.






A document titled "New procedure for the management of night vision equipment and receivers" was sent Thursday to the IDF's senior officers, and the IDF intends to deal in an intensive and fundamental way with the loss of this sensitive equipment.





The new procedure, which was written by two senior officers, is the consequence of a new affair constituting a severe confidence crisis with the U.S.



Deputy Chief of Staff Major-General Moshe Kaplinsky ordered a thorough investigation into each past case of lost night vision devices.



For many years the IDF has been widely using devices which strengthen the light of stars and enable soldiers to better operate against the enemy at hours of darkness. There is a wide variety of devices, some are classified, but others have long been used as a regular "work tool" in operational activities. The price of some of these devices may reach NIS 40,000 (about USD 9,000).



According to the agreement between Israel and the U.S., every purchase of such devices must be under close supervision, as conditioned by the U.S. government.




Inside the device there is a special receiver that enables night vision. The Americans view these types of devices as strategic equipment, which is supplied only to a limited number of countries, including Israel. According to the agreement, in incidents of losing the equipment, the receiving country is obligated to conduct a comprehensive investigation and immediately report the incident to the U.S. government.




The defense establishment recently discovered a fault in the supervision procedures of these devices, which caused hundreds of loss incidents not to be reported to the Americans at all.




'Israel may face hopeless situation'



Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz and Chief of Staff Dan Halutz decided, in order to "fall into line", to send the Americans a document detailing all the loss incidents in the past few years. The Americans' response came shortly afterwards – and following the document the U.S. halted all of its supply of these devices to Israel, for an unlimited period of time.




The defense establishment decided to form a new procedure in order to minimize the damages caused and to present the Americans with a series of obligations, in order to renew the relations with them.




The procedure's writers noted that the loss of these devices had caused economic, security and political damage.




"There is no need to mention that the inability to purchase these devices may significantly harm our operational ability in the future," they wrote.





The new procedure, which was distributed on Thursday to senior IDF commanders, sets a series of instructions: a significant reduction in the number of lost devices, an ability to report each loss, a professional probe into each incident, severer punishments, tightening of procedures and supervision of the devices.




The document ends with a clear message: "Without the involvement and obligation on the part of commanders, the IDF and the State of Israel may face a hopeless situation regarding the purchase and maintenance of night vision equipment, and this field may collapse within a short period of time."




The defense establishment has not responded to this report as of yet.

An U.S. embassy official met with an Israeli foreign ministry official in Jerusalem several days ago, where he informed him that the American Foreign Ministry has requested the embassy to launch an investigation into the matter.



According to American sources, the military copters currently serve the drug mafia in the South American country.



Top diplomatic sources fear that this incident will once again heat-up tensions between Israel and the U.S. and cloud the strategic dialogue between the two countries, which is scheduled to renew in November, after talks were suspended for more than a year-and-a-half.



Kosher deal went sour



The dubious affair, which was already investigated by the Israeli Defense Ministry, and later turned over to the hands of the police, was uncovered about two years ago.



Investigators revealed that the Defense Ministry signed a deal with an Israeli company three years ago, contracting it to negotiate the sale of five IAF helicopters for a sum of USD 100,000 per aircraft.



The ministry permitted the choppers, of a MD 500 Defender model, be sold either to the Mexican federal police, or to the Spain firefighters department. However, contrary to the terms of the license, the copters ended up in Columbia, by way of Canadian mediators.



A Defense Ministry spokeswoman said in response that "after suspicions were raised that an illicit exchange took place, the ministry launched an initial investigation into the matter last year."



"According to instructions of the chief prosecutor, the case was handed over to the police in 2004," she added.



Sources at the Defense Ministry refused to comment on the matter.

The last set of Police, who must have been paid off by the ACLU Jews, physically escorted me from the ACLU headquarters, claiming that my bicycle reflectors on my belt were explosives. When they realized how ridiculous this charge was, they then claimed that my sign was “hate speech.” But I waited 20 minutes and came right back.

~ Then one of the ACLU Jews threatened me saying, I’m going to beat you to a pulp you Anti Semite! But how could I, a “racial” Jew be an “Anti Semite?” Then one of them grabbed my sign out of my hands and ran away with it. Q: Why do you say that the ACLU is run by Jews?

Br Nathanael: I grew up as a Jew. In the 50’s and 60’s during the heat of the Civil Rights Movement, Jews from the political left joined the ACLU in droves. Q: Isn’t the Hispanic, Anthony D. Romero, the “Executive Director” of the ACLU? How then is the ACLU run by Jews?

Br Nathanael: Ha ha. Anthony D. Romero is a homosexual pervert who is a “token” Hispanic in the ACLU Jewish entity. Romero has no financial attachments to his credit which accounts for being “of no consequence” in Jewish organizations like the ACLU.

Q: You mentioned above that the ACLU is funded by Jewish Organizations? Can you tell us which ones?

Br Nathanael: Two of the many Jewish financial backers of the ACLU are: 1) “The American Jewish Committee;” and 2) “The International Association of Jewish Lawyers And Jurists” wherein many Jewish Lawyers from America are awarded monetary remunerations for litigating against Christian symbols.

~ Two leftist Jewish groups amongst many are also financial donors to the ACLU: 1) “Steven Spielberg’s Righteous Persons Foundation.” 2) “The Norman Lear Family Foundation.” The Jew Norman Lear, a former President of the ACLU in California, produced the Anti Christian “All In The Family” TV series which made the Moral Majority representatives, Archie Bunker and his wife Edith look like idiots.



Q: Why do you say that the ACLU Jews are Anti Christ?

Br Nathanael: ACLU Jews are Anti Christ because they are relentless in litigating against public displays of Nativity Scenes, Crosses, Ten Commandment Monuments, and Christmas Trees throughout America. The agenda of the ACLU Jews is to remove all semblance of Christianity in America by the year 2015.
The ACLU Jews must be stopped before it’s too late.

Q: Do the ACLU Jews litigate against Jewish symbols and expression?

Br Nathanael: I have yet to see a headline that reads, The ACLU Sues Town For Putting Up A Jewish Menorah! Yet if the ACLU Jews learn of a Christmas Tree even remotely near a public area, they sharpen their fangs and start litigating against it.

Q: But isn’t there the valid seperation of church & state clause that is operative in the ACLU efforts to remove Christian symbols?

Br Nathanael: If I hear this phrase “separation of church and state” vomited out by these ACLU Jews one more time, may they all choke on it! The ACLU Jews claim with their usual deception that they are not focusing on Christianity, but on religion in general. What a bunch of bull! For what is the religion that is dominant in our American culture? Hinduism? No, Christianity!

~ The misused phrase, “separation of church & state,” is neither in the American Constitution nor in any other codification of American laws. The phrase was only used by Thomas Jefferson in a letter to the Danbury Baptists of Rhode Island, assuring them that the Constitution will not allow the Federal Government to censure public expression of their Christian beliefs.



Q: Isn’t the ACLU doing our nation a service by keeping the State separated from religion?

Br Nathanael: Are you kidding? Because of the ACLU Jews we now do indeed have a State-controlled monitoring of our religious beliefs. The State now tells us what we can express and believe and what we cannot express and believe. The State will allow the homosexual perverts to put up a statue in Christopher Park in Greenwich Village of two men holding hands which I saw last month. But the State will not allow American Christians to put up a Christmas Tree. The ACLU Jews are to blame for this.

Q: But why would the ACLU Jews litigate against public displays of the Ten Commandments since this is part of their Jewish heritage?

Br Nathanael: The ACLU Jews do not believe in the God of the Bible. Nor do the ACLU Jews have any regard for the Prophet Moses who gave The Ten Commandments as well as laws prohibiting same-sex deviant behavior.

~ The ACLU Jews are secular leftists, who like most Jews, are focused on the primacy of their “racial” heritage. In sharing the Gospel with both secular and religious Jews, I constantly hear them say in response: I was born a Jew and I will die a Jew! What they really mean is, I will never become a Christian like the Gentiles!




Q: Is there a growing antipathy in America against the ACLU Jews?

Br Nathanael: Yes. Americans resent that their children are taught anal sex in schools due to the efforts of the ACLU Jews. Americans resent Muslim Curriculums offered to their children while any reference to Christianity is outlawed due to the efforts of the ACLU Jews. Soon Americans will say, “Enough!” And that’s when outraged Americans will come to blows with the ACLU Jews.

Q: Are you saying that there will be a backlash by Americans against the ACLU Jews?

Br Nathanael: Yes. There are now Christian Legal Groups such as “The Thomas More Law Center” @ http://www.thomasmore.org/ that are fighting the ACLU and informing the American Public of how the ACLU Jews are ruining our nation.

~ Unfortunately innocent Jews will suffer from the backlash that is building against the ACLU Jews. The same thing happened against the Jews in the Soviet Union who in the Bolshevik Uprising were the prime movers in destroying any Christian presence on Russian soil. Then in pre-World War II Germany, the backlash came from those who resented the Jewish control of the media for promoting deviant sexuality - just as the ACLU Jews are now doing here in Christian America.

~ Where will the ACLU Jews go when the onslaught comes? Who will take them? The Christian nation of America once offered asylum to the grandparents of the ungrateful ACLU Jews. But now the entire world will rise up against them. The uprising could easily spill over into Israel just “to get rid of them all.” What a tragedy this will be. And the ACLU Jews will be culpable!

Magical money from thin air

I was, of course, acting stupidly, gobbling random medications by the handful and washing them all down with tequila just to try and calm down enough so that I don't start screaming and screaming and screaming in fear at the terrifying economic disaster that is unfolding all around us, by which I mean, of course, how inflation is going to kill us and eat us alive, leading one inexorably to the immortal yet pithy phrase, "We're freaking doomed!"

For one thing, Total Fed Credit was up by only US$357 million last week, which, chump change that it is, approximately equals the cost of an ordinary emergency room visit these days.

This TFC-not-expanding thing is Bad, Bad News (BBN) because this is the stuff that the Federal Reserve creates at their whim, which causes credit to appear on the books of the banks, which



turns into money when someone takes out a loan at a bank. Thus you see how this TFC is the actual raw material from whence Magical Money From Thin Air (MMFTA) comes.

If you are like most people, you have given up believing in magic a long, long time ago, as it is the stuff of fairy tales, which you have also given up believing in, too, because you learned the hard way that there is no such thing as a "happily ever after" ending for anything, and in fact the "ever after" is usually filled with bosses screaming at you because you keep screwing up, children screaming because that is what kids do, spouses screaming because that is what spouses do, creditors screaming on the phone about taking you to court which is what creditors and collection agencies do, and you end up screaming about the sheer economic madness that is rampant in the world and how you are going to die an ugly, ugly financial death because of the Federal Reserve creating the money that creates inflation in the prices we have to pay.

But all is not quite lost yet! The category of Other Fed Assets went up by $15.6 billion last week, taking that category to $80 billion, which is up $40 billion in the last 12 months, which is a staggering increase, given that it has taken since 1913 to amass the first $40 billion. I assume that this is where some of those worthless assets that the Fed is taking off the hands of its nasty little banker buddies winds up.

This disgusting largesse at taxpayer expense was partially offset by the Fed selling another $12 billion of its Treasury bonds last week, taking this main asset of the Federal Reserve itself down to $548 billion, which means that they have sold a full third of their ownership of Treasury bonds that they have been gradually accumulating to expand the money supply since the founding of the Federal Reserve 1913, in just the last few months! A third of it gone, in three months! Months! Something very bad is happening, meaning that we're freaking doomed!

And speaking of lying, stinking messes, I am reminded of Senator Christopher Dodd of Connecticut, the blowhard chairman of the senate banking committee, who never saw anything wrong with banks or the actions of the Federal Reserve the whole time as this whole stock bubble, the bond bubble, the housing bubble, the government bubble, the subprime mortgage/derivatives mess were growing, growing, growing, even though Greenspan (and then Bernanke) testified in front of him at least twice a freaking year, each time saying the most preposterous things while Dodd and his stupid little banking committee buddies just sat there and ate it up like the ignorant morons they really, really are, when they were so close that they could have sprung over the desk ("boinggggg!"), grabbed one of those Federal Reserve chairman weenies by the necktie with one hand and slapped the living hell out of them with the other hand, while yelling at them as loud as they could, "Stop this stupid, insane expansion of the money supply before you create consumer price inflation, which is the thing to be feared above all things, or we will fire you and use the IRS to hound you until you die, slowly, screaming in pain, alone, in the dark, in the rain, just like an Earnest Hemingway novel at its most depressing." But did they use that golden opportunity? NoooOOoooo!

Anyway, not content with committing that gigantic, unforgivable incompetence, now this Dodd creep says that he wants the taxpayers to bail everybody out by having the Federal Housing Administration, a government-owned mortgage insurer, guarantee another $400 billion in mortgages, which means the taxpayers paying for the inevitable losses! Hahaha!

This, to be fair, is just typical, loathsome Democrat commie-think, all of whom actually believe that the reason government exists is to continually give money and mandate unfunded benefits to more and more people. And yet you still think that the United States has a viable economy? Hahahaha! I point at you and laugh in utter contempt, as that is the Rude Way Of The Mogambo (RWOTM) at such stupidity! Hahaha! Communism that works? Hahaha! Too much! Hahahaha!

Perhaps this hysterical laugher of mine means that I am just overmedicated, but you would think that since a fiat currency has never worked in the whole history of mankind, and since a fiat currency has destroyed every economy that tried it, and since giving banks unlimited power to create money and credit has never worked in the whole history of mankind, and it has destroyed every economy that tried it, and since having large, expensive, suffocating governments has never worked in the entire history of mankind and as destroyed every economy that has tried it, it would seem obvious that we should not elect bozos like, for instance, Dodd, Kennedy and Pelosi.

But I am heartened to learn that my medications have nothing to do with it, as from chartoftheday.com we also get their "Quote of the Day", this week by the German philosopher Georg Hegel, who said, "What experience and history teach is this - that people and governments never have learned anything from history, or acted on principles deduced from it."

And thus I know, beyond a Shadow Of A Freaking Doubt (SOAFD) that the rest of history will repeat, too, and that gold will, again, just like it always has, rise in price as the value of the over-issued currency in which it is priced falls in purchasing power.

I mean, how simple can it be? Whee! This investing stuff is easy!
