Pakistan May Turn Over CIA Spies To Iran

In another sign of growing tensions with the United States, Pakistan is threatening to turn over to Iran six members of a tribal militant group Iran claims are "spies" for the CIA.

The group, Jundullah, operates in Baluchistan on both sides of the border between Iran and Pakistan and has carried out a number of violent attacks on Iranian army facilities and officers inside the country.

The CIA has denied any direct ties with the group, but U.S. officials tell ABC News U.S. intelligence officers frequently meet and advise Jundullah leaders, and current and former intelligence officers are working to prevent the men from being sent to Iran.

The six Jundullah members were taken into custody by Pakistani authorities last week, and the Iranian Mehr News Agency reported Pakistan would soon extradite the men to Iran, where they would likely be put on trial as spies and face execution.

Officials said the group's leader, Abdel Malik Regi, was not among those arrested by Pakistan.

U.S. intelligence officials say they are aware of the developments with the Jundullah members and are said to be trying to block the extradition. In addition to causing turmoil in Iran, the officials say the group has been helpful in tracking al Qaeda figures trying to move through the Baluchistan region to Iran.

"The new Pakistan leaders have said they are going to do it, but they are saying a lot of things and trying to make a lot of deals," said one U.S. official. "If they are seeking stability inside the country, why would they want to inflame people in this region?" the official asked.

Iranian officials claimed this week that the U.S. had "a hand" in an April 12 bomb attack at a mosque in Shiraz that killed 14 people, according to Mehr News Agency, quoting Iranian Intelligence Minister Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ejei.

"The U.S. is behind many events in Iran and the region with the aim of bringing insecurity," the intelligence minister reportedly said. "We have proper documentations in this regard," the minister told the news agency's reporters.

A senior U.S. official said Iran's claims "are nonsense, ludicrous."

The capture of the Jundullah members is seen by intelligence sources in the region as another indication that Pakistan's new government is distancing itself from the U.S. and U.S. intelligence operations in the country.

Other such steps by Pakistan in recent days include an accord between Pakistan's government and militant tribal leaders in the country's Swat Valley region where Taliban figures are believed to be hiding. Increasingly, U.S. sources say, Pakistan is effectively handcuffing U.S. ground efforts against al Qaeda in the border region and emboldening the Taliban.

Police Can Search Without Probable Cause

Police officers can now search people for knives and guns without reasonable suspicion they may be carrying a weapon.

Sir Al Aynsley-Green called for further research into the effect of the increased powers.

He told the BBC: "There is a balance here. On the one hand for young people to feel safer by having the presence of the police - but on the other hand making sure the new powers don't create further antagonism by increased stopping and searching.

IOF troops destroy agriculture sector in Gaza; kill Palestinian farmers

The agriculture ministry in the PA legitimate government in Gaza Strip asserted on Wednesday that the IOF troops had bulldozed vast agricultural areas in the eastern sector of the Gaza Strip which is considered the food basket of the 1.5 million Palestinians living there.

According to a report issued by the ministry and a copy of which was obtained by the PIC, the Israeli occupation army uprooted fruitful trees and destroyed greenhouses and artisan wells in Shokeh and Sofa villages, east of Khan Younis city over the past week in addition to ruining poultry farms estimated at 1.5 million dollars.

The report, furthermore, added that Palestinian farmers in Qarara and Al-Buraij areas, east of Deir Al-Balah city, weren’t able to reach and cultivate their farms for fear that the IOF troops stationed opposite to their farms could shoot and kill them "in cold blood" any time.

Palestinian farmer Ali Al-Dahdouh, 32, was killed with IOF bullets while cultivating his farm in Juhr Al-Deik area, east of the tiny Strip, a couple of days ago.

Raising the alarm, the ministry warned that the brutal IOF practices against the Palestinian people and land were badly affecting the food basket of the Gaza Strip in addition to jeopardizing all aspects of life there.

For its part, the Authority of Environment Quality (AEQ) in the Gaza Strip seconded the warning of the PA agriculture ministry, warning further that cutting of trees and using them for cooking due to the severe shortage in the cooking gas as a result of the Israeli embargo would badly affect the Gaza Strip's ecology, and would contribute to increasing the temperature there.

The Israeli occupation government had been imposing a wing-clipping comprehensive economic blockade on the populated Strip that had, so far, reaped the lives of more than 160 Palestinian patients suffering of chronic diseases but were banned by the IOA from receiving medical treatment outside the beleaguered Gaza hospitals.

In this concern, the AEQ urged the international community and all concerned organizations to immediately intervene and pressure the occupation to stop its aggression against the Gaza Strip and its people.

Iran mosque blast plotters admit Israeli, US links: report

Iran's chief prosecutor said bombers who caused a deadly blast at a mosque in Shiraz had confessed of links to Israel and the United States, the ISNA student news agency reported on Friday.

"Those responsible for the attack against the Shiraz mosque have confessed to having links to worldwide oppression, in particular the United States and Israel," Ghorbanali Dorri-Najafabadi was quoted by the agency as saying.

They also admitted carrying out "one or two minor operations," the agency said, without providing further details except to say the group launched military operations a year ago.

The April 12 blast in the southern city left 13 people dead and more than 200 wounded. Authorities subsequently announced the arrest of 15 people.

Earlier Friday, senior Iranian cleric Ayatollah Ahmed Khatami said people had also plotted attacks in the holy city of Qom, 120 kilometres (75 miles) south of Tehran, and at a book fair held in the capital.

Iran has already accused Britain and the United States of training and financing those behind the bombing. In the past it has also blamed US and British agents based in neighbouring Iraq and Afghanistan for launching attacks on border provinces with significant ethnic minority populations.

The strike in Shiraz was the first in decades in Iran's Persian heartland. The normally placid city is not in a border zone, nor is it home to any significant ethnic or religious minority population

“There has been much speculation, fueled by obviously concocted “leaks” from Israeli official sources, that Bush is planning to attack Iran before the end of his term in January of 2009.

As I have said before, a unit attached to the DoD has been monitoring all the secret Israeli governmental communications between Tel Aviv and their Embassy in Washington since 2003.

Why are they doing this? Is Bush aware of this?

They are doing this because in a number of elevated military circles, Israel is viewed as treacherous and eager to involve the United States in a war against Iran solely to protect themselves from a possible attack by that country. And Bush is most certainly not aware of the military surveillance of Israel or he would order it stopped immediately and the perps punished.

While Bush is very, very sensitive, and highly responsive to, Israeli needs, he knows that an American attack on Iran would have to be via the Air Force and tactical nuclear in nature. A forewarned U.S. military leadership would certainly block this insanity and Bush knows it.

He does not want to end his disgraced presidency with a public rebuff from the JCS so his (and especially Cheney’s) wishes to show up Iran will have to find other outlets. Bush has a pathological detestation to being defied and anyone who gets in his way is fired at once.

On the other hand, a rebellion of sorts at the highest military levels would be a personal, and very humiliating, disaster that Bush wants desperately to avoid.

If not Bush, then the leadership of the Republicans know that there is sharply rising anti-Semitism in America, based entirely on the activities of the Neocons and some elements of the American media. They hope, frantically, that they will not suffer a crushing defeat at the hands of the American public at the November elections and are distancing themselves both from Bush and the rabidly pro-Israel factions of their own party.

Power means, among other things, money, and if there is a sweeping Democrat victory at the polls and the pliant carbon copy of Bush, Senator McCain, loses his last-chance for the presidency, all of them will be looking for jobs where they will have to work for a living, not working the public for its bounty.

Fully aware of this, Israel is frantically trying to shove the United States into a war against its enemies. Israel, according to military intercepts, does not want to be seen as the actual aggressor and does not want to spend any money on a war they might lose.

Besides, the logistical problems inherent in an Israeli attack are such as to preclude Tel Aviv from doing anything other than pushing and shoving their many allies in Washington to help them.

I have maintained that these intercepts ought to be published in full so that the American voters might know exactly what they have in store for them if McCain get into the White House. Given their incendiary nature, I doubt if any branch of the American media, with the possible exception of Keith Olberman, would dare to make any of them public.

If they did get out, I, and others here, can easily see pogroms in America that would rival those of Imperial Russia or Nazi Germany.”

Of Juntas, Storms, and Earthquakes-Natural and Man-Made

The Indian Ocean tsunami of 2004, with its 225,000 or more deaths in 11 countries, shocked the world; so, in recent weeks, has the devastation wrought by a powerful cyclone (and tidal surge) that hit the Irrawaddy Delta of Myanmar. It resulted in at least 78,000 deaths (with another 56,000 reported missing) and a display of recalcitrance on the part of a military junta focused on its own security while its people perish. Similarly, a devastating earthquake in China's Sichuan Province that hit 7.9 on the Richter scale and whose tremors were felt 1,000 miles away has swept into the news. Its casualty count has already reached 51,000 with unknown numbers of Chinese still buried in rubble or cut off in rural areas and so, as yet, untallied, and an estimated five million people homeless.

These are staggering natural disasters, hard even to take in, and yet it's a reasonable question whether, in terms of damage, any of them measure up to the ongoing human-made (or rather Bush administration made) disaster in Iraq. Worse yet, unlike a natural disaster, the Iraqi catastrophe seems to be without end. No one can even guess when it might be said of that country that an era of reconstruction or rebuilding is about to begin. Instead, the damage only grows week by miserable week and yet, as has often been true in the last year, Iraq continues to have trouble even cracking the top ten stories in U.S. news coverage.

Just this week, Iraqi troops moved into the vast, battered Shiite suburb of Sadr City in east Baghdad after weeks of fierce fighting. The first descriptions of the damage -- U.S. air power was regularly called in over the last months in this heavily populated slum area -- are devastating: "As I moved into the neighborhood," writes Raheem Salman of the Los Angeles Times online, "the destruction from weeks of fighting was horrible. Most of the shops and kiosks have been damaged. Doors are knocked off their hinges. Windows are shattered. The walls are riddled with bullet holes. Some buildings are blown apart by missile fire."

But then Iraq itself is a devastation zone. From the first shock-and-awe attacks on Baghdad as the Bush administration's invasion began in March 2003--which killed only civilians--and the early bombing, missiling, shelling, and even cluster bombing of urban areas as the invading U.S. military barreled north, death, chaos, and destruction have been the Bush administration's tidal surge in Iraq. By now, an estimated 4.7 million Iraqis are either refugees abroad or internally displaced and, depending upon which study or whose numbers you use, hundreds of thousands to a million or more Iraqis have died in the last five years. There is, of course, simply no way to measure the mental stress and anguish that those same years have inflicted on Iraqis.

The New York Times recently profiled a psychiatrist working with hopelessly antiquated equipment amid a tide of desperate, wounded humanity at Ibn Rushid, a psychiatric hospital in Baghdad. It's now a run-down hulk from which seven of its 11 staff psychiatrists have fled -- either for Kurdish areas to the north or abroad--fearing kidnapping or assassination. In some hospitals and universities in Baghdad, staff has reportedly been reduced by 80%. The economy is in tatters; governmental authority hardly exists; disease is rampant; the medical system in ruins; significant parts of the middle class gone; militias in control; and still, amid this rolling, roiling catastrophe, the Bush administration adamantly persists in its course.

Much scorn has rightly been poured on the junta in Myanmar recently, but, when it comes to recalcitrance and putting self-interest ahead of the well-being of masses of desperate souls, the American President, Vice President, and their top officials have proven themselves a planetary junta of the first order. When it comes to Iraq, to this very day, they remain obdurate and well-defended from the results of the human version of the 7.9 quake they let loose on that country.

Back in January 2005, considering the Indian Ocean tsunami, Rebecca Solnit wrote at this site: "You can say in some ways that what has happened in Iraq is a tsunami that swept ten thousand miles from the epicenter of an earthquake in Washington DC, an earthquake in policy and principle that has devastated countless lives and environments and cities far away…" But this has not exactly been a popular image in the American mainstream media; and so, in recent weeks, no one has even thought to connect our ongoing Iraqi disaster to the natural disasters in Asia, or the acts of the Burmese junta to those of our own leaders in relation to Iraq. After all, we are largely inured to, and generally oblivious to, the ongoing harm for which we are responsible.

And yet, as Michael Schwartz points out in his latest piece, http://www.tomdispatch.com/post/174935/tomdispatch_michael_schwartz_the_loss_of_an_imperial_dream"River of Resistance," Iraqi resistance to Bush's desires and designs predictably continues. This sort of resistance has been with us at least since the Catholic peasants of Spain--the Sunni fundamentalists of their day--resisted, and finally defeated, Napoleon's army, the finest in Europe at the time. And to judge by Francisco Goya's famous series of aquatints, The Disasters of War, you would no more have wanted to meet those peasants in a back alley than you would many of the resisters in Iraq today.

"Think of it this way," writes Schwartz, "in a land the size of California with but 26 million people, a ragtag collection of Baathists, fundamentalists, former military men, union organizers, democratic secularists, local tribal leaders, and politically active clerics--often at each others throats (quite literally)--nonetheless managed to thwart the plans of the self-proclaimed New Rome, the 'hyperpower' and 'global sheriff' of Planet Earth. And that, even in the first glancing assessment of history, may indeed prove historic." And in return came the tsunami.

Word goes that the old master Jacob has left the scene, and that his place has been occupied by his son Nathan (Nathaniel Philip Rothschild, who bears the name of the founder of the English Rothschilds). The heavy burden has fallen on the frail shoulders of the young heir. But Nathan is not alone. In the running of the empire he will be aided by his uncles Evelyn and Edmund and the other members of the English branch of the family (Catherine, Emma, Leopold), but also his French cousins (David, Eduard...).

The Rothschild family has produced governors, prime ministers, ministers, supervisors who are making sure that everything goes according to the big plan.
The European Union was created by the Rothschilds (Schumann, a Khazar). The EU is an exploiter of Russia, which should be freed from the Siberian burden. With the aim of completing this job the Rothschilds have employed Soros, Berezovski, Hodorkovski, Kasparov, the Mitals...



If we wish to unveil the background and causes of these events, we must delve into the dark history of the Khazar dynasty Rothschild, identify the agents, the grey eminences, the greedy politicians, as well as the mechanisms of their actions.

WHO ARE TODAY’S ROTHSCHILDS?



Although ever since World War II the Rothschild departments for the creation of public opinion have been assuring people that the power of the Rothschilds today is insignificant and that they will be remembered by their vineries in France or gardens and philanthropy in Great Britain, reality projects a completely different picture. Building upon the foundations laid by their fathers and grandfathers, the present-day descendants are completing a mission that has lasted for several centuries. Today, the Rothschilds are the steam engine of a Khazar train heading for Russia and the vast expanses of Siberia. This train, which runs through the Balkans, is to be boarded with armies of the newly recruited members of NATO, which will then fight for the Rothschild empire.


THE RED SHIELD FROM FRANKFURT

In order to be better acquainted with the new sovereign and his dukes, let us look at the lineage and the chronology of this dynasty. It all began towards the end of 18th century with Amshel (or Moses Bauer) Rothschild.
The Rothschilds (Rothschild translates as “the red shield”) are descended from Frankfurt. It is no coincidence that this is the greatest financial centre in the EU. It is very indicative that Frankfurt is the seat of the Central European Bank and all the major European and American banks, which are mainly controlled by the dynasty. The Frankfurt Stock Market (one of the most important stock markets in the world) is aligned to the “Deutsche Borse” owned by the Rothschilds via their “Children’s Investment Trust” and “Atticus Capital” on the one hand, and their branches “Merrill Lynch” and “Fidelity Investments” on the other. Beside that, the coat of arms of the city of Frankfurt is a red shield! This symbol dates back to the period of the Khazar empire.

The writer Dejan Lucic says of Khazars:
90% of present-day Jews are Khazars by origin. They are a Turkish-Mongol tribe, which was converted to Judaism in the middle of 8th century. When their empire fell apart in 10th century they settled down across Russia and Europe, and later on the American continent as well. They are converts and have no Semitic origins at all. The Semite Jews come from Palestine and number between 7 and 10%.


Amshel had five sons, whom he positioned all across Europe. Salomon went to Vienna, Carl to Naples, Nathan to London, James to Paris and the fifth son Amshel stayed in Frankfurt. In less than two hundred years the sons and their descendants completely subjugated the west. Thus the foundations of a “Pax Judaica” were laid. The head of the family is the Anglo-French Rothschild team led by Nathan, son of Jacob Rothschild. The English team is led by the aged Edmund and Evelyn and the young Nathan, and the French team by David and Eduard.

THE ENGLISH ROTHSCHILDS

The English branch of the Rothschilds was founded by Nathan Meyer, the third Amshel’s son. During 19th and 20th centuries an alliance was established between the British crown and this family, so that the modern history of Britain is inseparably tied to the Khazar dynasty. Today, the Khazar triumvirate is made up of the abovementioned Evelyn, Edmund and Nathan.

He built his career by pushing the British-Khazar interests in the post-war Japan. In cooperation with Winston Churchill he founded the BRINCO Corporation (British Newfoundland Development Corporation) in Canada. Marcus is also at the head of the BBC corporation.

After the union of the English and French Rothschild financial and banking groups, and his stepping down from the leading positions in them, he remained head of the enormous N M Rothschild & Sons, an investment bank from London.

He set up the Association for Studies of the History of Banking and Finances, which has a seat in Frankfurt.

He owns the international corporation De Biers, one of the leaders in the area of the exploitation, refinement and distribution of diamonds.

Together with his wife Lynn Forester, he controls the “FirstMark Communications International LLC” and “FieldFresh Foods” with the Indian family Mital, which, in fact, acts as a representative of Rothschild interests and capital (the great “Bharti” group).
Evelyn’s main agents in the area of politics are Soros, Norman Lamont, Peter Mandelson (a Khazar), Oliver Letwin (a Khazar) and Vernon Jordan. Lamont has influence over the Conservative Party and the potential prime minister Michael Howard (a Khazar). Howard was a minister of the Treasury when Margaret Thatcher was in office. He took part in regional conferences together with Stjepan Mesic (Croatia) and Boris Tadic (Serbia). Peter Mandelson is the present commissary of Great Britain in the EU and is close to Labour Party and Tony Blaire.

On the other hand, Vernon Jordan (Lazard Bank) is very influential in the Democrat Party in the USA (he was an advisor to Bill Clinton and led the campaign for John Carrey in 2004). Evelyn’s wife Lynn financed Bill Clinton’s presidential election campaigns and is also a close friend of Hillary Clinton.
Evelyn is also very close to Duke of York, Prince Edward (son of Queen Elizabeth), which reveals only a part of a long-standing connection between the British royal dynasty and the Rothschild family.

The French dynasty of Rothschild, which was founded by James Meyer, is a flank guard of the British triumvirate. The French Rothschilds are represented by David Rene and Eduard Rothschild, sons of Guy Rothschild(1909-2007).

In this way he installs “democracy” and “civil society” in countries which suffered and were exhausted during communism, the very communism that was forced onto these countries by those very Rothschilds.
He built his career upon financial speculations all over the world, mostly thanks to his family of investment funds “Quantum Fund”, whose managers, and at the same time his agents, are Italian and Swiss financiers.


The connection between Soros and the Rothschilds is achieved through a network of confidential people who sit in administrative committees of funds, trusts, companies, banks... One of those people was a certain Richard Katz (also a Khazar), a member of the “Quantum Fund” committee. At the same time he was head of “Rothschild Italia S.p.A.” and a member of the committee of the commercial bank “N.M. Rothschild & Sons” in London. Another important player is Nils O. Taube, also a member of Quantum and a partner of the investment group “St .James Place Capital”, which now belongs to Nathaniel Rothschild.
The connection is also realized via Societe Generale Bank and its manager Michael Cicurel, who is chairman of Edmund Rothschild’s management and a member of the Rothschild & Cie Banque board. Another frequent partner of Soros’s was James Goldsmith (a Khazar), related to Rothschild dynasty.

He spun the network of his influence way back in 1990s through the “Open Society Fund”, :Humanitarian Rights Fund”, “Helsinki Committee”, “Belgrade Circle”, “European Movement”, “Centre for Anti-War Action”, “NUNS”, “ANEM”, “OTPOR”...
Today, all the leading NGOs are branch offices of the Rothschilds and are entrusted with not only attaining the greatest political influence possible, but also with the psychological shaping of the nation. By constantly pinning on the Serbian people accusations for genocide, criminal mentality and collective guilt, these phantom organizations aim at creating the feelings of fear and guilt in people. These feelings are supposed to materialize as indifference to a piece of land, to driving Serbs out of their land or, in other words, to colonization. This is also done in the form of liberalism which is supposed to reach metastasis in state institutions, in the family, the nation, tradition, culture, and thus ensure a clear passage for Rothschild empire.
In addition to the abovementioned organizations, very active participants in this offensive are “Yucom”, the Belgrade Centre for Human Rights, the Civil Initiative, the Centre for Cultural Decontamination, Women in Black, the Youth Initiative... Advocates of this anti-Serb hysteria are Sonja Biserko, Natasa Kandic, Vuco, Borka Pavicevic (the wife of the lawyer Nikola Barovic), Miljenko Dereta, Vojin Dimitrijevic, Srdja Popovic, Mirko Djordjevic, Biljana Srbljanovic, Zoran Ostojic, and the journalists Petar Lukovic, Teofil Pancic, as well as all the other infamous vedettas of Soros’s. Soros also pushes anti-Semitism, which is then ascribed to the “xenophobic Serbian society”. Those in charge of this are Filip David, Jovan Byford, Laszlo Sekel... Various “incidents”, threatening letters, desecrating of monuments, graffiti are all parts of this plan. We should not disregard the fact that the Open Society Fund supports (both financially and ideologically) the organizations advocating gay rights (Labris, Queeria, Gay Serbia...).

Marketing and the media and logistic support to this subversive project are ensured through “independent” media, such as B92, Studio B, TV Pink, TV Panonija, ANEM (the TV stations Devic, RTV Globus, RTV M+, RTV Kraljevo, RTV Nisava, RTV Pancevo, RTV Spektar, RTV Trstenik, the radio stations Radio 021, Bum 93, Radio Sombor, Radio Index, Radio Subotica, Radio Pirot, Radio Ozon...), the “Free Europe” radio... The cable TV network SBB and the satellite television TOTAL TV which are expanding, are also owned by Soros. The production companies VIN and PG Network contribute to the information unity. In addition to the electronic media, Soros’s list includes the newspapers and magazines Danas, Vreme, Evropa, Republika, the association of independent local media “Local Press” (the newspapers Pancevac, Kikindske, Vranjske novine, Nasa rec...), the publishing houses Samizdat, Dan graf, Stubovi culture, Fabrika knjiga, Klio, Aleksandrija pres; the book distributors Bookbridge, Beopolis... He also controls the information agency Sense and the two leading information agencies in Serbia – Beta and Fonet. At the same time these agencies are branch offices of AP (Associated Press) and Reuters, which have been owned by the Rothshilds ever since 19th century. Sorosz has also infiltrated cultural and educational institutions, theatres, the National Library, the Historical Archives, SANU (Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences)...He has gathered around himself a large group of actors, directors, playwrights, musicians, writers, scientists, analysts, former diplomats, who assist him in animating more and more followers.
Two Gorans – Markovic (whose mentor is Bernard Levi, a great friend of Bernard Coushner’s) and Paskaljevic, satanize Serbs at film festivals. We should also mention the following educational organizations of Soros’s: the Union University, the Alternative Academic Education Network (AAOM), the Belgrade Open School, the Centre for Women Studies (which sprung out of the feminist group “Woman and Society”)... They recruit future Sorosz’s mercenaries. The centre for the improvement of legal studies – Human Rights Watch (HRW) is also present. CESID and all the other polling organizations are in the same camp.

A political acquisition of the Rothschilds’

In addition to the “non-governmental” sector, Soros has laid his hands on the finances as well, controlling them via various “experts” (G17+) who are financed by the “Open Society”.

Beside this, we should point out that Soros has stocks at Societe Generale bank, which takes up an important part of the financial market. The Hague Tribunal is also financed from Soros’s funds.
The most active of Soros’s exponents in the political life in Serbia (of course, apart from the “non-governmental” system and G17+) is the coalition gathered around LDP and Cedomir Jovanovic, which was the most expensive of Rothshild’s investments in the latest parliament elections. Together with the guests of the radio show Pescanik (B92 Radio), this anti-Serb group articulates the ideas of Nathaniel Rothshild most brutally and loudly. The Spiritus agens of this virulent group is Latinka Perovic, the founder of modern liberalism in Serbia.

We should say that Soros spreads his influence through the Democratic Party as well. The best example of this is the election of Oliver Dulic, one of Sonja Liht’s personnel, as president of Serbian Parliament.

What are Rothshilds’ interests in Kosmet and Vojvodina?

Important Rothshild companies in this region are Carlyle Group and the International Crisis Group which, led by Soros, has been campaigning for independent Kosovo for years. In addition to Sorosz, the group is finaced by Rupert Murdoch (Sky), Goldman Sacks, JP Morgan... Members of this group are or were Marti Ahtisari, James Lion, Morton Abramovich, Louise Arbour, Bzezinski, Wesley Clark, Mihail Hodorkovski, Thorvald Stoltenberg... The staff have changed, but not the anti-Serb policy.

Independent Kosovo is also in the interest of the Rothshilds, because it is the “Serbian Kuwait” with enormous reserves of lead, zinc, gold, coal...Since the occupation of Kosovo and Metohija (Kosmet) Soros has invested a lot of money and effort in getting hold of Trepca for the Rothshilds. An important link in the chain is Agron Dida, deputy minister of energy and mining in Kosovo government, who was elected to this office after being a member of KFOS (one of Soros’s organizations). Independence is crucial to the interests of Rothshilds’ mining and metallurgical companies, since it would provide them with a clear passage for snatching mineral wealth and energy resources which are in low supply in the world.
In the meantime the Alferon company has bought over the metallurgical plant Feronikl, which owns several open-pit mines. Alferon is owned by three businessmen from Kazakhstan (i.e. Rothshilds’ tycoons, one of them being Alexander Mashkevic, also a Khazar) and is part of the ENRC (Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation) .

Head of ENRC and Alferon is Johannes Sittard, one of Rothschilds’ agents, and until recently the right hand of Lakshmi Mital (also one of Rothshilds’ investors). Mital invested 100 million dollars in the company’s development. Apart from Alferon, the Global Steel corporation (owned by Pramod Mital) is also present in Kosovo, via its Bulgarian branch Kremikovici, which it acquired in 2005. This company bought the Lamkos plant (for zinc-coated steel) in Vucitrn. We should mention that this company also bought over the Lemind foundry in Leskovac and Zastava Smithy in Kragujevac.

At the same time, Soros has been expanding his influence through the Kosovo Fund for Open Society (KFOS) and other affiliates, by financing the media (Koha ditore), politicians (Veton Suroi)... Part of the same chain is Ekrem Luka, who has taken hold of the brewery in Pec. He coordinates the work of the other non-governmental branches through Balkan Human Rights Network.
He has also secured privileges for Alcatel, the mobile phone company in Kosovo, which he indirectly controls via Globalstar L.P.

In addition to his devoted work on the stealing of Kosovo and Metohija, Soros and the International Crisis Group are beginning to turn their attention to Vojvodina. In cooperation with the government of this province, they are trying to make Vojvodina sit at the same table with Croatia, Hungaria and Romania, all of which are Rothschild proxies. With this aim they are creating the “Danube project”, backed by Germany and Austria. According to this idea, Vojvodina should be pushed into a confederation of countries in the Danube Basin as a “European region”. Not long ago German ambassador Zobel(a Khazar) drew attention to this, no doubt deliberately. The project is carried out through the acquisition of agricultural combines, sugar refineries, dairies, oil refineries, banks... Agricultural estates are increasingly being purchased by Croats, who have already bought several important food companies. Agrokor has taken over Dijamant from Zrenjanin, Frikom... Nekse Group has bought Polet IGK, Strazilovo, and has stocks in Toza Markovic company for the production of construction materials (it also owns the Jelen Do plant for the manufacturing of lime and stone). Somboled has also been purchased.
On the other hand, both Austria and Germany are positioning their companies in the province. The German company Nordzucker has bought over sugar refineries all across Vojvodina. With MG Commerce it has set up the Sunoko company and in this way it has come into possession of tens of thousands of acres of land. Stada has bought Hemofarm. VAC has purchased Dnevnik from Novi Sad. The Austrian Erste Bank chose Novi Sad as it seat. OTC banking group and Metals bank have done the same. These things coincide with a more and more intensive penetration of Hungarian companies into Serbia and the region, as well as an increased influence of the Hungarian government. Both of these are supported by Nathaniel Rothschild.
We should mention that Serbs in Austria have also been granted the status of a national minority. Hence, this would be the status of Serbs in the future confederation which would represent a realization of the Alpe-Adria project – an incarnation of the Habsburg state.

Investment Funds

The second lane of Nathaniel Rothschild’s progress in Serbia is occupied by investment funds from Virgin and other exotic islands, which are seemingly owned by “Russian Jews” (in fact, Khazars). The most important one is Salford, from Virgin Islands, behind which stand Boris Berezovski (a Khazar) and Rothschild capital. The fund was set up in London in 2001 and today it owns almost the entire dairy industry in Serbia (Imlek, Novi Sad Dairy, Subotica Dairy, Impaz, Zemun), the Bambi concern, Knjaz Milos...

One of the members in Salford committee is Lord Tim Bell, a former advisor to Margaret Thatcher, who is very close to Berezovski, Rupert Murdoch, Viktor Yuschenko, and was in good relations with Yeltsin. The president of this fund is Klaus Mangel, who was Boris Berezovski’s partner in selling Mercedes cars in Russia.
In addition to Salford, the Ashmore investment fund is also strengthening its positions. It has recently taken over Carnex from Midland Resources. Ashmore is controlled by Rothschilds’ Atticus. Namely, Ashmore is owned by Michael Benson, a former member of Amvescap, the company where the capital of Atticus is placed.
Midland Resources is a third important investment fund run by Alexander Schneider and Eduard Sifrin (both of whom are Khazars!). The Midland group owns the hotels Park and Kasina (the oldest hotel in Belgrade) and Pancevo Port.

The third lane of colonization is occupied by companies from the fields of construction, mining, metal industry, finances, banking and publishing, most of which are directly related to the young Rothschild. One of them and, at the same time, the most active company in the region is Trigranit, which has a seat in Budapest, and which has over the past few years grown into a regional giant and a leader in big investment projects.

It constructed a number of business and financial centres in Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria...In Croatia it is about to build a sports hall with 20,000 seats and office space. In Serbia Trigranit should construct the railways station “Prokop” (it has not been started yet).
The Riotinto branch (one of the largest mining companies in the world) has been granted the concession to exploit the boron ore (which can still be found only in China and Turkey) in the surroundings of Baljevac near the river Ibar. Other mining companies are present too - Glenkor, which Rothschild controls through his agent Mark Rich (a Khazar) and Phelps Dodge, where Atticus capital is placed (Atticus is Rothschild’s investment fund). These two companies are placing bids for the remaining mining basins. The Magnohrom company from Kraljevo was bought through the Indian company Mital. Incidentally, the Mital family has been a representative of the Rothshild dynasty for a long time. Wilbur Ross, a Rothschild banker for many years, occupies a managerial position in Mital. In addition to Mital company, the Rothschilds and Mitals are in control of FieldFresh Foods company, which produces and exports food from India.


The banking and financial sectors are also dominated by the dynasty. The leading banks, such as Banca Intesa, Credit Agricole, Unicredit group, Societe General are controlled by the Rothshilds.


The lever which provides control is Antoine Bernheim (a Khazar), head of the Delta Generali group. The Greek banks Piraeus and Laiki are under the control of Marfin financial group, in which Rothshild’s capital is placed. The Khazar Shandor Chanyi, one of the co-owners of Trigranit, enables Rothshild to expand his operations in the field of banking via his OTP group. OTP bought over three banks in Serbia: Kula, Nis and Zepter bank. Metals Bank from Novi Sad was bought by Rothshild’s JNR Limited (Jacob and Nathaniel Rothschild) investment fund. The young Rothshild also controls the Hungarian oil company MOL, also through Chanyi.
MOL has been present in the Serbian market since 2005 and is a serious candidate for participation in the privatization of the oil industry.
We should also mention that NM Rothschild is the financial advisor to NLB Continental, a banking group from Slovenia.

To this we can add the controlled media (ANEM), through which he carried out – successfully, it turns out – an anti-Serb campaign. In cooperation with European organizations and the Venice commission (one of whose members is Vojin Dimitrijevic as well) he actively supported the project of independence.

The head manager, Chanyi (OTP banking group), occupied the field of banking by purchasing Montenegrin Commercial Bank, which covers more than a half of the market in Montenegro. Its ally is Rothshilds’ Societe Generale, which took over Podgorica Bank. NLV group bought the Montenegro Bank.
In addition to this, Rothschild and Chanyi’s MOL is soon to become a strategic partner of the state oil company Montenegro Bonus. Milo Djukanovic, who gave the Rothshilds a blank check, was rewarded with a managerial position in Tigranit, which speaks volumes of the part he played in the process of colonization.

An important role in the colonization of Montenegro was played by Oleg Deripaska, a Khazar multimillionaire from Russia. Through its affiliate Salamon, it took over the bauxite mine in Niksic. It should be mentioned that Rusal and Glenkor often act together. The company Mittal Steel Zenica bought over the RZR Ljubija, a complex of mines with great reserves of iron ore. We should mention that the Russian state companies Juzuralzoloto and Zarubeznjev are also present. The former has become a strategic partner of the mining plant Sase in Srebrenica and the latter has bought over the oil refineries (Modrica, Petrol). Thus, any further penetration of MOL and Mittal has been prevented.

Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina

In the Muslim-Croatian part of Bosnia, Mittal group is the leader in the area of mining and metallurgy. This group has taken hold of the steel plant in Zenica, one of the largest steel plants in the Balkans. The mining complex Ljubija in the Republic of Srpska has also become a part of Mittal.
The field of energy is reserved for MOL, which has bought over the state oil company Energopetrol. The investment fund of Boris Berezovski, Salford, has taken over the dairy industry (Mlekoprodukt - K.Dubica, Campomil – Sarajevo). It is expected that Ljubljana dairy plants will also be taken over. These plants include the dairy plant in Tuzla as well.

Ever since 1993 Soros has been present in the Federation through his network of NGOs. The same as in the other countries, this network is exceedingly anti-Serb oriented. Some of the more renowned members of Soros’s Open Society have been Jacob Finci and Ivan Straus (Khazars). In addition to the Open Society, we can mention „Obrazovanje gradi”, Media Centre Sarajevo, the Helsinki Committee, the Women of Bosnia and other NGO’s. He also controls the following media – the newspaper Oslobodjenje, the Start magazine, the HTV Hajat television, the news agency ONASA...



Croatia

Unlike the other Balkan states, Croatia was occupied by the Rothschilds mainly from Hungary, which is a basis for the expansion of the Khazar dynasty.
In Croatia Soros is less present than in the other countries. The trump card from the non-governmental sector is Zarko Puhovski.
In addition to MOL which took over the oil company INA, another important Rothschild company in Croatian industry is Trigranit. A consortium Ingra-Trigranit has been founded (at the head of Ingra is Igor Openheim, a Khazar). The consortium is to build the sports arena in Zagreb, with a capacity of 20,000 seats. Trigranit also has ambitions plans regarding the Croatian seaside.
T-Mobile is present in the area of telecommunications.



Macedonia

After the break-up of Yugoslavia, this former republic has shared the fate of the other colonies in the region. In other words, the sovereignty and independence refer to the territory, whereas the economy and resources are undergoing quiet occupation and the people are being promised a “better future” in the EU. At the same time a pro-Albanian element is being promoted, with the aim of completing the project of the Greater Albania.
A central part in Macedonia is occupied by Mittal Steel Skopje, a part of Mittal corporation, which has bought over the metallurgy plant in Skopje, thus ensuring domination in the region. In the area of banking, Societe Generale has taken over Ohrid Bank.
On the other hand, Soros openly supports Albanian interests. For this purpose he uses numerous organizations – the Helsinki Committee, the Centre for Multicultural Understanding, the Association for Democratic Initiatives, all dominated by Albanians. The same goes for the media. Soros controls the “Shutel” television, the Vati and Life radio stations...
Soros also credited the Macedonian government in 1994 with 25 million dollars. During this same period he attained great influence on the then prime minister and the current president of Macedonia, Branko Crvenkovski. Branko Crvenkovski openly supported Marti Ahtisaari’s plan for Kosovo.

Soros is involved in the Macedonian mobile phone company MT via “Stonebridge Communications” company, in which he has stocks. Incidentally, MT is indirectly controlled by the Rothschilds through “Blackstone Group”, a major financial-investment group which was founded in 1985 by their agents Peter George Peterson and Stefan Schwartzman (a Khazar). Both of them had previously made careers in Rothschild branch offices “Lehman Brothers” and “Kuhn Loeb Inc.”. Blackstone group is the leading stockholder of “Deutsche Telekom” (T-Mobile), which also incorporates the Hungarian mobile phone company Matav – the owner of the Macedonian mobile phone company MT. “T-Mobile” is the second largest mobile phone company in Macedonia.

On the way to their goal the Rothschilds bring into play reforms, transitions, shock therapies, elections, referendums, secessions, revolutions, civil wars, military interventions...

Nations are offered “freedom”, “democracy” and voluntary enslavement in return for their independence and resources!

The alternative is sanctions, isolation and bombing!

Former Yugoslavia was a phase in the crusade of Rothschild empire towards the east. The geopolitical combinations were not a Serbian ally yet again.

ENVIRONMENT: GM Foods the Problem, Not the Solution

BONN, May 23 (IPS) - The food crisis has prompted some looks towards genetically modified food production as a solution. That in turn has led to stronger warnings over the consequences of such food for health and the environment.

These concerns have been raised in Bonn again as more than 3,000 delegates from 147 countries met for the UN conference on biosafety. The conference has sought to ensure safe use of modern biotechnology.

Feeding the debate, scientists, farmers and environmental activists in many countries continue to warn that genetically modified agriculture presents a risk, and not a contribution, to food production.

In France, organic farmers are complaining that genetically modified (GM) plants are poisoning their plantations. Julien and Christian Veillat, two farmers who grow organic maize in the Breton locality of Villiers-en-Plaine some 400 kilometres west of Paris, say their fields have been contaminated with GM maize, even though the nearest GM crops field is 35 kilometres away.

The contamination was established during a routine analysis late in April by an organic agriculture cooperative near the Veillats' village. Following the detection, the organic maize was diverted for use as cattle fodder.

The Veillats have now filed a legal complaint against the central government in Paris. "The contamination could only have come from the GM maize," spokesperson for the local association against GM agriculture Georges Castiel told IPS. "At the organic cooperative, they control the seeds very carefully."

Jean-Pierre Margan, producer of organic wine in the Provence in the south told IPS that contamination of organic farms is a constant problem. "Particles of GMOs are transported by wind and water, and can be carried very far away, and contaminate your plantation even if you have worked hard to protect it from every risk," he said.

Serge Morin, deputy president of the local government in the province of Poitou Charentes said it is necessary that "the French state revises all procedures concerning GMOs, including the immediate stop of all open air GM plantations. In addition, all organic farmers whose plantations are contaminated should be paid indemnities."

Such instances have led renowned chefs and wine producers in France to launch a public campaign to prevent the spread of GMOs in food and beverages.

"We don't have the scientific competence to intervene in the debate on the health consequences of GMOs," they wrote in a public letter addressed to the French parliament. "But we consider that, in accordance with the precautionary principle in questions of food and health, GMOs must simply remain banned from our tables." Similar campaigns are under way in other European countries.

Several scientists and environmental activists say that apart from the health concerns, GMOs are not a solution for food scarcity either.

"Most of the genetic modifications introduced in crops aim at making them resistant to pests or weed killing, but not to increase yields," says Hans-Joerg Jacobsen, biologist at the University of Hanover in Germany.

Jacobsen told IPS that "modern cultures, free of any genetic modification, have higher yields than genetically modified seeds."

"The idea that GM agriculture could help feed the world is part of the propaganda that the biochemical industry has used for years, but it is false," Arnaud Apoteker, who heads the campaign against GMOs for the French branch of the environmental organisation Greenpeace, said in an interview.

Some representatives of the biochemical industry acknowledge this. "Genetically modified agriculture will not solve the world's hunger problem," Hans Kast, managing director of the plant science branch of the chemical giant BASF told the German newspaper Die Sueddeutsche Zeitung.

Take Africa, the only continent that does not produce enough food to feed its own population, even though some 70 percent of African people work in agriculture.

"By applying conventional agricultural methods, free of any genetic modification, you can substantially increase agricultural productivity in Africa," Hans Joachim Preuss, managing director of the German non-governmental food organisation Welthungerhilfe told IPS. "What African agriculture mostly needs is better, more efficient irrigation systems, and not genetically modified seeds."

-William Kristol- Founder of the Jew “Think Tank” Project for the New American Century (PNAC). Kristol is the son of Irving Kristol who is called the “Godfather of the Jewish Neocon Movement.”

Kristol was the main signatory of the September 2000 PNAC letter, Rebuilding America’s Defenses endorsing President Bush’s “admirable commitment to lead the world to victory in the War Against Terrorism.” David Corn, current writer for the Congressional Quarterly, calls Kristol “the No. 1 cheerleader for the Iraq war” Here.

-Lewis “Scooter” Libby- Chief promoter of the War On Terror Here when Assistant to President Bush from 2001-2005. Libby resigned after he was indicted on federal obstruction and perjury charges in a Grand Jury investigation into the Plame Affair regarding the Iraq War.

Libby was sentenced to 30 months in prison on felony counts with regard to the criminality of the War In Iraq Here. But Bush, beholden to the Jewish Lobby which got him elected, commuted Libby’s sentence and he got off scot-free.

-Paul Wolfowitz- US Deputy Secretary of Defense under President Bush from 2001-2005. Wolfowitz is best known as one of the “architects” of the war against Iraq in which not a single Jewish young man or woman has fought or died.

Wolfowitz is also known for his infamous quote when Deputy Secretary of Defense: “Intelligence about terrorism is inherently murky and the U.S. must be prepared to act on less-than-perfect information” Here.

-Douglas Feith- Feith served as the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy under President Bush from 2001-2005.

In 1999, Feith’s Jewish law firm, Feith & Zell, formed an alliance with the Israel-based law firm, Zell, Goldberg & Co, whose clients included the major military contractors, Lockheed & Northrop Grumman. What a nice nest egg for Feith to feed while promoting the War On Terror!

Feith’s new book, War and Decision, in his attempt to justify the Iraq War, provides excerpts of documents revealing that the US Department of Defense was calling for Bush to focus not on taking down the Al-Qaeda network but on establishing “new regimes” throughout the Middle East Here.

This is just one more proof that Jews are not interested in their contrived “War On Terrorism” but rather on how it can further own their selfish interests. Indeed, Jews admit that when it comes to preserving their existence then all morals and ethics are irrelevant Here.

-Abraham Shulsky- Protégée of the Jewish Neocon Richard Pearle. FBI files indict Bush, Cheney and Co. as war criminals

The most stunning revelation in a 370-page Justice US Department Inspector General’s report released this week was that agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation had formally opened a “War Crimes” file, documenting torture they had witnessed at the Guantánamo Bay US prison camp, before being ordered by the administration to stop writing their reports.

The World Socialist Web Site, together with human rights groups and other opponents of US militarism and repression, has long insisted that the actions of the Bush administration—the launching of wars of aggression, assassinations, the abduction and detention of civilians without trial and, most repugnant of all, torture—constitute war crimes under any legitimate interpretation of longstanding international statutes and treaties.

To have this assessment confirmed, however, by the IG of the Justice Department, the only senior official there not answerable directly to the White House, and by agents of the FBI, an agency not known for its sensitivity to questions of democratic rights, is an indication of the rampant character of these crimes as well as the crisis they have engendered within the US government and America’s ruling elite as a whole.

The report makes it absolutely clear that torture was ordered and planned in detail at the highest levels of the government—including the White House, the National Security Council, the Pentagon and the Justice Department. Attempts to stop it on legal or pragmatic grounds by individuals within the government were systematically suppressed, and evidence of this criminal activity covered up.

There was no immediate reaction from the White House on these new revelations. Responses from other agencies directly implicated in the crimes at Guantánamo were indicative of the general atmosphere of impunity in which the torture detailed in the IG’s report continues to this day.

“There’s nothing new here,” said Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman. A State Department spokesman, meanwhile, described the charges contained in the report as “pretty vague.”

Pretty vague? One can’t help but wonder what the spokesman would consider explicit. The report contains page after page of testimony by FBI agents on the sadistic and sickening practices carried out at Guantánamo.

In one section, the report states: “[An FBI Agent] recalled that, at some point during the interrogation, the military officer ‘put water down’ a seated detainee’s throat. He said he guessed that the purpose of the water was to give the detainee the sensation that he was drowning, so that he would provide the information that the interrogator wanted. [The agent] stated that the detainee was gagging and spitting out water. He said that the detainee appeared to be uncomfortable, and assumed that he had trouble breathing.”

Consider the account of the interrogation of Mohamedou Ould Slahi, a Mauritanian national who was arrested by his own government, turned over to US forces and brought to Guantánamo in 2002:

“He was left alone in a cold room known as ‘the freezer,’ where guards would prevent him from sleeping by putting ice or cold water on him...

“He was subjected to sleep deprivation for a period of 70 days by means of prolonged interrogations, strobe lights, threatening music, forced intake of water, and forced standing.

“He was deprived of clothing by a female interrogator;

“Two female interrogators touched him sexually and made sexual statements to him;

“Prior to and during the boat ride incident, he was severely beaten.”

In addition, the document says, he was “led to believe he was going to be executed, and urinated on himself,” and was told that his mother and family would be detained and harmed.


Hundreds of FBI agents witnessed torture

Similar episodes were described, according to the IG report, by literally hundreds of FBI agents, who witnessed CIA, military and private contractor interrogators carry out illegal acts of torture and abuse against detainees.

In addition, the report cites: several agents who reported instances of beatings, 30 agents who reported witnessing prolonged shackling of detainees in stress positions, 70 agents who reported detainees being subjected to sleep deprivation, 29 agents who had information on the use of extreme temperatures in order to “break the detainees’ resolve to resist cooperating” and 50 agents reporting the use of extended isolation to “wear down a detainee’s resistance.”

In addition, four agents reported the kicking and beating to death of two detainees in Afghanistan who had been subjected to prolonged shackling in a standing position.

The episodes of torture detailed in this report are the tip of the iceberg.

They do not include the treatment of Murat Kurnaz, a Turkish citizen born in Germany, who was arrested during a trip to Pakistan in the fall of 2001 and was handed over to US officials for a $3,000 bounty. First taken to the US base in Kandahar, Afghanistan, he was then transferred to Guantánamo. While by 2002 the US authorities concluded that Kurnaz had nothing to do with terrorism, he was imprisoned until the middle of 2006 and released only because of pressure from the German government.

Barred from entry to the US, he testified via video link to a sparsely attended hearing of the House Foreign Affairs Committee this week.

“I did nothing wrong and I was treated like a monster,” he said. He told how he was subjected to electric shocks, being suspended by his wrists for hours and subjected to the ‘water treatment,’ in which his head was stuck into a bucket of water and he was punched in the stomach, forcing him to inhale the liquid. (The Justice Department Inspector General’s report, it bears noting, affirmed that this last form of torture did not constitute “waterboarding,” but did represent “an effort to intimidate the detainees and increase their feelings of helplessness.”)

“I know others have died from this kind of treatment,” said Kurnaz. “I suffered from sleep deprivation, solitary confinement, religious and sexual humiliations. I was beaten multiple times.”

“There was no law in Guantánamo,” Kurnaz concluded. “I didn’t think this could happen in the 21st century.... I could never have imagined that this place was created by the United States.”

The inmates held at Guantánamo represent barely 1 percent of those detained at US prison camps and secret jails run by the military and the CIA in Iraq, Afghanistan and other points around the world. An estimated 27,000 people are being held without charges, much less trials, many of them simply having disappeared into Washington’s global gulag. Some are held on prison ships, others in secret dungeons run jointly by the CIA and regimes to which it “outsources” detainees, like Egypt, Jordan and Morocco, where other, cruder forms of torture—being buried alive, given electric shocks or slashed with scalpels—are employed.

The report also reconfirms that the revolting scenes captured in the photographs taken at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq that came to light four years ago—naked and hooded men being subjected to torture and sexual humiliation by US guards—were no aberration. The methods described in the report—forced nudity, the use of attack dogs in interrogations, chaining detainees in “stress” positions, leading them around on dog leashes, draping them in women’s underwear—were identical to those officially blamed on a “few bad apples” at Abu Ghraib.


Sadistic torture “orchestrated” from the White House

The uniformity of abuse at these widely separated facilities is evidence that the psychopathic and criminal sadism inflicted upon those detained by US forces was planned and orchestrated from the top.

Indeed, as ABC News revealed last month, top administration officials on the so-called Principals’ Committee—Vice President Dick Cheney, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of State Colin Powell, CIA Director George Tenet, Attorney General John Ashcroft and National Security Council Adviser Condoleezza Rice—conducted detailed discussions on “enhanced interrogation techniques,” which, according to ABC, “were almost choreographed—down to the number of times CIA agents could use a specific tactic.”

Bush subsequently told ABC that he was “aware our national security team met on this issue. And I approved.”

The report establishes that FBI and Justice Department officials advised the White House National Security Council of their concern that the practices witnessed by the agents were “gravely damaging ... the rule of law” at Guantánamo.

In the end, however, they were told to back off, and they complied, thereby becoming accomplices in this criminality and its cover-up.

The revelations in the FBI report have provoked no significant protests or demands for action from the Democrats in Congress, or for that matter from the party’s presidential contenders, Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, neither of whom have made torture an issue in their campaigns.

The New York Times Tuesday carried a lead editorial titled, “What the FBI agents saw,” which laid out the details of the report and stated that it “shows what happens when an American president, his secretary of defense, his Justice Department and other top officials corrupt American law to rationalize and authorize the abuse, humiliation and torture of prisoners.”

The paper’s conclusion: “The Democrats must press for full disclosure” through hearings to uncover “the extent of President Bush’s disregard for the law and the Geneva Conventions.” This, they tell their readers, “is the only way to get this country back to being a defender, not a violator, of human rights.”

Such is the impotence of erstwhile American establishment liberalism. The extent of the Bush administration’s outright criminality has been thoroughly exposed over the course of several years.

The wholesale and deliberate violations of the Geneva Conventions and the Convention against Torture are, under international law, war crimes—just as the FBI recognized they were. What is demanded is not another toothless congressional hearing, but rather the constitution of a war crimes tribunal. Those responsible must be held accountable.

Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, Powell, Tenet and Ashcroft should be placed on trial. Those like former White House counsel and Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, Cheney’s chief of staff David Addington and Justice Department deputy assistant secretary John Yoo, who crafted the pseudo-legal arguments legitimizing torture, should be prosecuted as well, together with those military and intelligence officials who directed the criminal practices at Guantánamo, Abu Ghraib, Bagram and other CIA and military camps and prisons.

The Democratic leadership has no desire or intention to fight for such a reckoning. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other party leaders have repeatedly insisted that impeachment of the president and vice president is “off the table.” They have no interest in pursuing the administration on the issue of torture because they themselves are complicit, with Pelosi and other senior congressional Democrats having been briefed extensively on the criminal methods employed at Guantánamo, which they approved and concealed from the American people.

On a more fundamental level, the Democrats have been complicit in a policy of global militarism and aggression—carried out under the mantle of a “global war on terrorism”—which is directed at using armed force to further the interests of America’s ruling oligarchy. It is this criminal strategy—resulting in the loss of over 1 million Iraqi lives—that has given rise to the crime of torture itself.

Nonetheless, the deepening crisis of American capitalism is creating the conditions for profound shocks and changes in political and social relations that may well result in Bush, Cheney and Co. standing in the dock as war criminals.

Such a trial is vitally necessary from the standpoint of halting these ongoing crimes, preventing the use of similar methods against political opposition within the US itself and politically educating the American people.
